The main use of Invisibility in PVE is to wipe your threat. Once you've gone invisible (now a 3 second cast, instant cast talented) your aggro is reset, and you can right click the buff to phase back with zero threat. Increasing the amount of time of invisibility is utterly useless for PVE.

For BG and Arena, this glyph has minor uses, where the mage could hide for a longer period of time, or travel without being seen to get past people, but a 5 second buff is not very useful at all.

Useful for levelling and the solo-grinding mage. A lot of times when I didnt have my flyer or was stuck in a cave, I would use Invisibility to bypass tightly packed groups of mobs. 5 more seconds gives you more time to reach a safe zone or exit the cave.

This is actually very useful for doing stealth runs of instances to get the Elder coins for the lunar festival and things like that. It was instrumental in getting me the Halls of Stone and Drak'Theran Keep coins solo.

With Prismatic Cloak (instafade) and this glyph (the Cataclysm version), you essentially have your own sprint as long as you don't cast anything :)

Would prefer this removed dots as that's pretty much the only thing that keeps Invis from being useful in PvP unless your long CD IB is up. Wouldn't be OP considering rogues have one on a much lower CD.

The best use I have found for this glyph? Tower Defense.

Quite often a few people will rush to dun baldar or frostwolf village, cap the 2 bunkers/towers, and then go wandering around, assuming nobody else is around. What you do is shortly after the bunker/tower gets capped, return (H) to your base, but right before your recall actually finishes hit invisibility.

If you are specced into prismatic cloak you won't appear at all to the enemy when you arrive. Without this glyph you will get roughly into the bottom of the tower before invisibility runs out, but with it you will get all the way to flag, and be able to position yourself in a slightly more discreet position than normal.

Obviously a very situational use, but it really was a godsend for me. Now, go forth and win AV.

This makes a great speed boost for mages. In addition, when coupled with Greater Invisibility it becomes 1.5 minute cooldown rather than the usual 5 minutes.

Removed in 5.4 and changed into Glyph of Rapid Displacement.

No more speedy invis runs.

Not all that handy in PvP, where the stun and root break is very valuable. However, during PvE content which most likely won't have such mechanics, this will allow multiple reposition attempts in a short span of time, especially effective is coupled with Momentum that let's you direct which direction your Blink travels to. Accidentally blink into the Fire? Blink out instantly!

Not a bad glyph, but not one you want for PvP. It has its uses when you need to get somewhere quick. A good example is SoO Immerseus when you need to get halfway across the room to slow/kill adds, and the rest of the time you only need one blink to avoid the water wall.

...or from the AH to the mailbox and back again.

I picked up this glyph just so I could fight Ixx in the Brawler's Arena.

Suffice to say, I regret spending 28g on this.

Whenever I have this glyph on, I have major issues with Blink becoming unresponsive or simply consuming a charge without doing anything at all. I can't tell if anything specific is causing this. I've tested it outside of the arena later, and it just seems to have a random chance of failure. It doesn't seem to be a lag issue either, as both I've got well over 50 fps and less than less than 25 ms.

Might be worth some verification from other Mages.
