This glyph does stack with Nightfall, but the buff you recieve is exactly the same, Ive heard some ppl say that Shadow Trance from their talents and the glyph procced at the same time, this isnt true or possible since the buff you'll get is the same. The whole point of this glyph is just to increase the chance for your insta shadowbolt, the reason it doesn't count drain life in it is because a lock that knows what hes doing will rarely if ever have to use drain life in a raid so really this is one of the best major Glyphs you could use if you plan to be Affliction for raiding along with Glyph of Shadow Bolt, and Glyph of Siphon Life, Glyph of Curse of Agony can also be used but because Warlocks are often told to use a utility curse(curse of elements,recklessness ect) when there are few warlocks in the group Glyph of Siphon will be a little bit more effective in the long run.

due to shadow damage causing the fire damage increase for destruction locks and the fact that corruption is now instant for all specs i use with destruction and this has already done wonders when pull aggro off pet i have had backlash proc twice and this once pretty much insta death

This gives half the number of procs as nightfall, due to it only working on Corruption and not on drain life, so it saves you one second of casting, every 75 seconds. Instant casts still trigger the GCD. This is not a significant increase in DPS at all. Compare this to the shadowform glyph - 10% of your spirit as spell damage whenever you crit is rather nice for Spriests, who will have high-spirit gear already. I'd much rather see a glyph of corruption give a small damage increase to corruption now that Blizz have reinforced its position as the dot you always keep ticking.

I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

Does this one works with another Glyph of Corruption so i have 8% chance of getting Shadow Trance? or dosn't it stack in that way? its not unique.. :)

That is making a number of assumptions. Drain Life ticks once per second, while Corruption ticks once every three seconds, so if you are Draining exactly 100% of the time that Corruption is up, you'll actually get 3x as many procs off Drain Life. However, since Draining 100% of the time Corruption is up is extremely unlikely in most contexts, the relative proc chance of Nightfall from each spell will vary depending on the player, the spec, and the situation. The more you Drain along with Corruption, the better Nightfall is over this glyph. The less you Drain, the better the glyph becomes relative to Nightfall, up to equal value for players not Draining at all (e.g., Destruction locks).

I'm not disputing that there may easily be other glyphs that give better performance increases, but it's not as simple as suggesting that Glyph of Corruption is half as good as Nightfall.

As affliction, I prefer the glyph for Immolate over this one. The +20% to your Immolate ticks really adds up over the course of a 5 minute fight or so, in addition to Molten Core.

ok, here's the thing.

YES-it does stack, but it is not additive. the talent gives the same 4% proc rate, but it is not 4%+4%=8%

seldric, your test numbers are pretty far from what they should show. 7598462153, you are absolutely correct, and i'm gonna bring numbers into this to prove it.

a 4% proc means that there is a 96% chance to NOT proc. let's say that we take a theoretical sample of 100 corruption ticks. the talent makes is so that 4 of these 100 will proc nightfall (not guaranteed, but for theory's sake).

100-4=96

96 is the number of ticks out of 100 that the glyph affects.

.04(96)=3.84

now take the 4% from talents and add it to the 3.84%

4%+3.84%=7.84%

so we have a 7.84% chance, with the affliction talent, to proc nightfall from corruption. This is very valuable in PvE, PvP, and in Questing, too! Not to mention the talent also includes proc chances from drain life. All in all, with a semi-decent cast rotation, 3-4 of these should pop up in a minute with the glyph, 2-3 without it. happy warlock...ing! (only if you go affliction though, screw you Demo locks with your tardguards. way to go 3 button borefest spec!)

An all-around good glyph, for leveling,raiding,pvp,farming,whatever.It's good no matter what spec, but I find that stacking it with Nightfall is really useful.I've had it proc 3 times in a row.A rogue died.
SM/Ruin will be coming back.Or if it was never gone, it'll be more uber then it already was.

currently for my affliction glyphs i'm going for: Haunt and life tap, but im trying to decide if i should go for this or Shadow bolt or even agony (agony im not sure about im normally the CoE $%^&* in the raid :D)

So im not a math expert, but lets say you have the glyph + talent and you put corruption and meanwhile you life drain him.
so 7.84% chance from corruption + 4% chance from Life drain. Adds up to almost 12% instant shadowbolt proc chance if your life draining.

I'm appealing to you talent supergeniuses to tell me what you think about one possible mix.

I am considering this build for Affliction PvP, matched up with glyphs of Corruption, Quick Decay and Siphon Life.

The build I linked to above has three main themes: Soul Link, Corruption, and Shadow Bolt. It attempts to max Corruption's damage as much as possible (except for skipping over Everlasting Affliction in favor of other talents), make Corruption tick as fast as possible, and proc Nightfall as often as possible for free (instant-cast) Shadow Bolts. For each Shadow Bolt or Haunt spell you dish out, you can stack Shadow Embrace. (Currently 2x, but Blizzard is talking about possibly allowing a threefold stack) Each proc of Shadow Embrace kicks your Corruption, Curse of Agony & Unstable Affliction damage up retroactively. (Haunt applies its bonus retroactively as well, apparently!) Improved Shadow Bolt will give a 5% crit bonus to ALL spells which both you and your friends toss at this enemy, which should make the Nightfall procs come even faster. (While, Haunt, UA and other spells are also going to crit more often)

I also included talents to max the Felpuppy, given the most recent changes with patch 3.33. His being able to Shadow Bite 3x as often means he will be laying on much more of the hurt.

And optionally, the Glyph of Siphon Life could be replaced with Shadow Bolt, Life Tap or whatever floats your boat. I'm using Siphon Life to help compensate for the lack of Molten Skin in the talent build.

One thing I often do in a PvP scenario is hover on the edge of a crowd -- as hidden as the territory will allow -- and begin to drop curses and DOTs on as many enemies as possible. In this case, I would be placing either Curse of Agony + Corruption, or Curse of the Elements + Corruption (CoE, to boost the attacks of all my compatriots, and not just my own damage), with an occasional Unstable Affliction thrown in to keep some classes from removing my handiwork so easily. Sometimes, I limit it to Corruption, and then move on to engaging whichever target looks the juiciest. Getting corruption out there would get Nightfall proccing like crazy, and start the HP pouring into yourself before you start taking hits.

Can you see any problems with this?

I find this glyph rather usefull for me as a Demo lock, as Corruption is an important factor in your damage dealing, as it procs Molten Core!
Also with the correct ammount of luck, you can also deal a nice burst in PvP, using a double SB or in my case an Incinerate with a Shadow Bolt under it...

So, if you can't find any better Demo glyphs, I recomend this one!

Good evening Warlocks! We're in patch 4.0 now and I've seen several posts saying the Glyph of Corruption is one of the top 3 prime glyphs. Well, as a destruction warlock, I disagree. For raiding as a destruction warlock, I still recommend the Glyph of Conflagrate, the Glyph of Immolate and the Glyph of Incinerate. The only time I see the Glyph of Corruption being a valid prime glyph is in Demo to go along with Molten Core, or Affliction for added DPS, but not for a Destruction talent build. I don't often play Demo or Affliction, so don't rate my knowledge on these trees please.

The must have Prime glyph for both PVE and PVP Affliction.In fact,the first one aspiring warlocks should slot.It stacks with nightfall too,and for aoe situations,when you have soulburned Seeds of Corruption applying Corruption on mob packs/players,with each of the ticks having a chance of proccing NIghtfall,Shadowbolts will,indeed fly.Works well with Glyph of Shadowbolt in PVE speccs for reducing the mana cost of sbolt spam.

For multiple mobs Soulburn: Seed of Corruption talent could be useful for quick spreading. I believe it can work with multiple mobs to increase your chances but not sure.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed.

OLD: Glyph of Corruption - Your Corruption spell has a 4% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%.

NEW: Glyph of Siphon Life
Affliction, Demonology - Your Corruption spell will heal you for 20% of the damage dealt.
Destruction - Your Immolate spell will heal you for 20% of the damage dealt.

For AoE, Affliction and Destruction benefit from this glyph more because of Soulburn: Seed of Corruption and Fire and Brimstone, respectively.
For single target and small groups (2-3 enemies), Demonology benefits more because of Doom (which stacks with Corruption and also triggers this glyph)
