Yes, Shado-pan questline have such weird prequests :D
Awakened quests have 3 version of quests each starting from NPC that gave you previous quests.
Ordo Warbringer have quest that starts via pop-up after Channelers and backup from Taylor/Nazgrim if you abandon first.

I have been questing solely with my fiance. We do all our quests together and don't quest without each other (at least the first time through the zones).

He saw Messenger Grummle in Halfhill Village, but the NPC was invisible to me.

I asked in guild and apparently a few other couples (our guild is mostly consisted of married couples, couples dating, parent/child, etc) had the same issue where only one could see the quest while the other one, of the exact same level and in the exact same place in terms of questing, could not see Messenger Grummle.

However, the quest was still able to be shared despite one person in the party being unable to see Messenger Grummle.

I am unsure whether this is a bug or not, but I'm thinking that it is.

If you get side tracked and don't remember how to get to Brewmaster Boof, you need to go up the "Path of a Hundred Steps". The entrance is Northwest of "Thunderfoot Fields". You cannot get here (on foot) through Jade Forest.

For those those who may have not finished this quest immediately and gotten lost, the entrance to the stairs is at 70.2, 23.2

Found Brewmaster Boof at 51.9, 43.8

Take the flight point to Tavern in the Mists. If you don't have the Tavern flight point, go to Grassy Cline and climb the steps to get to the Tavern in the Mists.

Head north out of the Tavern area, head right when the path splits off to Terrace of Endless Spring. It will take about 30 seconds running on a mount at 120% speed.

Boof is at the edge of a river at the top of the waterfall with 2 boats and a pitiful excuse for a dock (2 planks of wood).

I forgot to get the Binan Village Flight Point my first time through, and the boatman was nowhere to be found.

Not to worry! The mobs in the tunnel were on vacation, so I trotted right through the tunnel.

When I turned this quest into Mayor Bramblestaff the mobs on the east side of the passage reappeared, but the west side still provides safe passage.

I've had this happen twice now - the quest is put together poorly and gets confusing if you miss talking to the Highroad Grummle. I didn't see the Grummle's chat bubble next to Loremaster Cho and rode straight up to Brewmaster Boof, spoke to him and rode the boat through, then couldn't turn the quest in.

The confusing part: Mayor Bramblestaff only asks for the A Missive from Lorewalker Cho, and won't let you turn in the quest. Opening the quest log will show that you didn't talk to the Grummle. I didn't know to ride all the way back to the foot of the stairs to talk to the Grummle so I abandoned the quest and went to pick it up again.

Now it gets worse: when you pick up the quest again, talk to the Grummle, and ride back up to Boof, he's not there and the boat is inactive. If you picked up the flightpath in Binan Village you can return to the Tavern in the Mists and Fly there, or you can ride through the tunnel staying safely on the side opposite the mobs, and Boof will be on the dock.

Brewmaster Boof was missing for me -- apparently he decided that I wouldn't need a boat ride and went ahead without me : \ I was really looking forward to hearing what he and that Grummle said Alliance-side, since their lines were funny on the Horde version of the quest.

I'm not sure if this is why, but it could be because I opened the Shrine of the Seven Stars *before* taking The Road to Kun-Lai quest. I've done this on Horde alts though without having him bug out, so I'm not sure if that's it or not :(

If you have recently transfered factions and already done some quests in Kun-Lai or have opened the vale. You will find Brewmaster Boof in Binan Village by the docks instead of at the top of the stairs.

The Highroad Grummle did not appear for me, he is suppose to be at the foot of the Veiled stairs. So I went up the Veiled Stairs and down the path a bit to 52.10. 43.88 found a guy with a boat took it through the cave then talked to Brewmaster Boof in Binan Village on the docks that completed part of the quest, on a hunch I went back to the bottom of the Veiled Stairs and there he was. The flight point next to him opened as well, I did complete two quest by Len the Whisperer dont know if there needed or not. Hope this helps.
