Has anybody actually found this quest item? Maybe there are just too many people in the caves or I'm too busy being killed.

Like Statman I found it in the left-most cave after multiple attempts. It's a dark purple rock, at ground level and tucked against the very back cave wall. Cutting a path through all those vermin, not to mention the flocks of white birds that aggro, makes this an interesting quest. Suggest doing it in the morning when more folks are out there to help take some of the pressure of the vermin attacks away from you. I ended up popping Army of the Dead and my geist in order to loot the purple rock, then ran. Ha!

If you are having difficulties finding the Uncut Chrysoberyl, it is a purple or white rock that will be found on the back or sides of the cave. It is not hard to find, if you know what you are looking for.
It has a chance to spawn in any of the caves... if you are not seeing it, your best bet (if there are others doing dailies also) would be to wait at the back of the cave of your choice for a spawn.

I suggest doing it when there aren't many people around. It took me 20 to 30 minutes to find one because there were so many people who kept taking them. Apparently, there is only one available at any one time and there are several different spawn points.

As a miner with "Find Minerals" tracking, your minimap may mislead you into thinking there are nodes inside the burrow that aren't. After a few minutes of wandering around I exited the cave and there they were outside right at the entrance.

It can currently spawn underground, leading to cases where you can just see the sparkles fluttering up from the ground by the wall without having anything lootable nearby.

They can spawn right outside the caves as well. Just looted one at the front.

If the Uncut Chrysoberyl has spawned in an unlootable place (like seraphimkitten and teppec have described), consider having a friend on another server invite you to their group. This will allow you to search for it on their server, where it most likely has spawned in a different (accessible) spot.

I found one on the lip of the cave, but it was hidden by the graphics of the edge of the hole - all I could see was the 'sparkles' until I moused over and got the cog wheel. So if you get one that is buried in the scenery, you may need to look very hard for sparkly bits...

sooooo if u r like me and ur flying around looking for caves....THEY ARE NOT CAVES! they r little burrows! if ur flying and u see the birds....they look like big nests on the ground but its not until u go down to them u will see....they r the burrows to find the crystals! my 3rd one i went into i found 1!

It's actually a small purple stone piles. but it's white like primordial diamond in your bag.

I finally went in to the very back of the cave and got as high as I could and waited quietly and scanned around - did not take long and I got the wheeley :) Before that I was in and out and dozen times, but with all the people in there looking never had a chance to see it. So go in once all are dead, sit quiet, and it won't take long.

No point doing this quest during the evening when most people are around - you're likely to be flying from one place to another for hours as it only spawns in one place, which is probably not where you are! Personally never bother with this at all - real time sink!

Blizzards. Seriously. Please fix it. Spawn time is terribly long. I'v been on this quest for a day, just feel terrible to wait for it or jump in front of people and grab the object. They yell at me!:(

It actually looked like pink crystals to me. It also sapped me when I collected it.

Had tougher than usual time finding the stone. Have always found a lighter colored gem near mouth of den entrance or encrusted in tunnel wall or floor near entrance, but after a long search found a bluish "star-sapphire" looking stone at very back of the left-most cave (facing mountain).

This quest continues to be really annoying; if you are doing it for the reputation with Tina, just remember that just one and a half Ruby Shards will give you the same rep.

ok wtf is wrong with this quest i was on it for half hour trying to find the damn stone circling those damn caves and nothing had to pick up another daily to cap

Found mine in the furthest west cave, 38.6, 16.9. I know it is random. But this is the second time I have found it within 10 minutes. Good Luck!

This can be hugely frustrating. Don't be fooled by the location indicator on the map, the crystal can spawn anywhere on the path linking the 3 burrows & can be either inside or outside the entrances.

But the biggest problem with this is re-spawn time. If you happen on this quest when 1 or more players are after it as well you can be left waiting for ages, flying back & forth from each cave looking for the damn thing.

I just it by the cave opening furthest left. It had spawned somewhere behind the opening, so you could only see a few sparkles and not the stone itself. Had to hover around with my cursor to find it.

if the quest item doesn't spawn by the time i farmed all three caves just for a Burglarized bracelet this quest gets abandoned (which is almost always)

[That Tina Mudclaw is in the Halfhill Market today, visiting her sister. She's really nice, but she's really hard to get gifts for!

There's a little jewel that can be found in the cliffs to the north. It's called a chrysoberyl, and it changes color when you hold it. I'll bet she doesn't have one of THOSE!

Look inside the virmen caves. I bet you'll find one really fast.]
