There are no blue silent hedgehogs or clouded hedgehogs, period. I have come to this conclusion after weeks of battles with them. Maybe Blizzard will allow for some blue ones in future updates. This is VERY frustrating to collectors who may waste as much time as I did, looking for a rare.

These guys can be hard to find, as they're much less common than the Clouded Hedgehog and do not appear as secondaries in battles. On the plus side, all silent hedgehog spawns are capturable battle pets, so it's easier to make a targeting macro (i.e., /tar silent hedgehog ). As with the clouded hedgehog, they spawn in most blue- and green-tinged grassy areas, but not sha-touched land, the shoreline, or the disturbed ground of encampments.(##RESPBREAK##)2056##DELIM##adashiel##DELIM##

5.1.0 bring the change, i just got one Silent Hedgehog rare today. seem that Jungle Grub and Clouded Hedgehog can be captured as rare too

If you don't mind a little bit of downtime, a good place to farm for a rare is in the southwest part of the mainland, near 26.2, 50.2. This is where the new fabled pet Gorespine lives. There are six silent hedgehogs that spawn on the hill with him, and they re-spawn in less than five minutes.

I had a rare within half an hour at this spot.

These tend to be near trees and stumps throughout the Dread Wastes and Southern Townlong Steppes.

I solo'd all 3 of the pets starting with the silent hedgehog with my Qiraji Guardling level 21 blue using Sandstorm, Blackout kick, and crush. It worked on the emperor crab, rapana whelk, all the back up pets. I used her on all 6 that were hanging around Gorespine.
