A lot of the locations shown are for the critter version with the same name. I found quite a few of the battle pet versions around the shore at 44, 93.

Almost all turtles have the exact same abilities, but this little guy has Emerald Bite instead of Bite. So if you want to go up against a flying foe sometimes, he's your guy.

He's also particularly strong against flyers who do undead damage - the player Nether Ray Fry, Tiny Sporebat, Tirisfal Batling, and the wild Bat - but that probably doesn't help much.

Despite its low speed and strength, this is a very underrated pet. Huge HP pool... on of the largest available on a wild pet if you get an H/H breed (1969 HP!), a shield, a heal, powerball to stack speed increases while damaging, should you need it...

In addition, with strength vs 4 different creature types, this guy can be an incredibly strong, versatile meat shield. The Rapana whelk is nice, but overrated imo. Kind of the decent HP pool pet for ppl who cant synergize their team well. This guy on the other hand shines well above in any fight where you need staying power. You'll almost always find you're the last man standing in any of those fights where, before, you always ended up dying when both teams had 1 pet and 1 move left.

A bit confused why it mentions Shen-zin Su being one of these when on the info for Wanderer's Festival Hatchling, he was one of them. So which is it?

WHere are the good ones? Many of them in and around Pearlfin Village (SE in "The Jade Forest"). However, from *my* hunting ...all are grey; no Green and no Blue (Rare). Not to sound like a snob, but imo greys aren't worth battling for.

Found something strange about

(Breed: #6 H/H) rare 23 - 1515 HP.
caging drops level to 21 with 1670 hp. (hp rising when level drops)

Wow, got lucky and found a rare one on my first try. This pet is an extremely nice addition to any collection.

Emerald Turtles will come as a secondary to any wild battle-pet in the zone. I found quite a number of them attached to various other critters. In fact I saw far, far more as secondaries than I saw out in the open.

I just found my rare H/H super health (1969!) breed as a secondary to a "Masked Tanuki" (nowhere near water by the way).

I'm going to keep battling/leveling pets in the zone until I get a rare B/B breed as well. He has the same 260 power as the B/B Turquoise Turtle, but with a larger health pool. The Emerald suffers a little less speed than the Turquoise; but seriously, as slow as turtles are anyway, it will likely go second in a fight either way (unless you're up against a Stunted Shardhorn or something), so I'd rather have a little more durability to go with the hit power.

So if you're not seeing many of the Emeralds in the open, just keep checking all the other pert in the zone. Eventually you will get your rare Emerald.

(Edit: I found my B/B breed today. And I just found another H/H attached to a "Bucktooth Flapper" while hunting for a B/B Bucktooth. I left the Emerald Turtle for someone else to find.)
