Naturally, to find these critters, you will want to look in the areas in and around the fires of Hyjal. They look like normal, everyday roaches, so you may also need to check their names to make sure that you are, indeed, getting the right kind of roach. Their sound on click is an indescribable rush of squeaks and whooshes that doesn't sound like any creature I've ever heard... but does match other 'unusual' cockroaches in the game.

I would just like to mention that you can farm every single "Unique to Hyjal" pet as well as almost all of the others in Hyjal from the small area of Nordrassil. This area also has a fairly quick respawn time, I've never gone more than 30 seconds without finding another pet to battle. While farming for Nordrassil Wisp I have gotten nearly every other pet in Hyjal as either an Uncommon or a Rare.

The name of these roaches seem to be a rather odd marketing ploy. They are actually fire-proof, as their family type provides them with 33% resistance to elemental attacks. Of course, the same goes for every other roach in the game, so it's a rather odd thing to point out..

Pet Battle: Mount Hyjal

The outer member of the roaches' eggs protect the larva from incineration. It is here in incubation that they gain the ability to resist the fire and heat of the volcanic climate.
