Oily Slimling can be found in the pools of water in Scalding Pools, Borean Tundra.
Might be one of the new wild pet's that is in the pet journal in MoP. Can't say for sure yet seeing the wild pet tracker doesn't work.
Looks like the oozes in Felwood, Un'Goro, Western Plaguelands etc, just in a different colour.

If you want to catch it watch out if it has the ability "Split", if he uses it at less than half hp it just commits suidice (at least with current beta build, 15882); just bring a pet with cc (bear with stun works great) and stunlock it under 50% life.

These are level 21 and come with two extra critters to fight.

These can be level 20 or 21. Their health changes once you tame them (1199 and 1069 after I tamed them and they lost a level), but the rare's health was something like 1047 when I was fighting him, with the uncommon one's health at 975. All that I tamed were level 20 while fighting them -- I'm not sure what the rare/uncommon level 21 health is.

I couldn't find ANY of these, even though I spent a long time searching the area. Then I logged on my alt on a russian server (I study Russian and wow is a great way to learn new words ;) and there were plenty.
I would have logged on some other server in English if I had an alt high enough somewhere. But not sure if it's my server or what - I have been having some very random bugs lately, so it might just be me, not my server :P

But just wanted to post this in case someone else can't find them anywhere. Try some other server, if you can!

If you are just stepping into Borean Tundra and are like me in that you are out to capture all of the pets in the zone, start with these slick little guys!

The reason for this is that these slimy critters bring two other pets to help them battle, which will include all of the other pets found in Borean Tundra at random, though the reverse will not happen.

Come hunt your rare Slimeling down, possibly get one or more other rares in the process, and then move on to the other pets in the Tundra.

I decided to get one of these instead of spending hours farming for the disgusting oozeling but trying to get a rare took several visits of just clearing them out and about 100 oozes later I finally got a rare one.
Sometimes they can take a while to respawn, but if you check in the morning before doing dailies there are usually about 30 of them up. I also noticed they seem to respawn a lot faster in the morning.

If you have NPCscan and are having a tough time finding rare pets, use their NPC ID from wowhead and add it to NPCScan. It's a nice little buzz when you've been circling around somewhere looking for these.

Some I added for Northrend were:

Nexus Whelpling: 68845
Emerald Proto-Whelp: 68850
Scourged Whelpling: 62854
Stunted Shardhorn: 62816
Oily Slimeling: 62697

Don't forget to clear your cache if you've already cached it... and chances are, it'll only work once... but it's nice to hear the sound anyway.

Hope this helps you and your sanity, especially if you are on a heavily populated server, full of people who like to collect battle pets like mine.

It will probably take you stupidly-long to get a rare of one of these, but DO IT ANYWAY. (Or, y'know, battle-stone it.) Acidic Goo + Corrosion + Absorb = opponent pet is dead in three turns and you're probably back at 3/4-full health. It's fast, it hits like a pillowcase full of bricks, and takes damage better than you'd expect. I use this one as my go-to pet when I don't have a proper type-match for a fight, and it makes a complete mess of flying types. To my surprise, it dissolved Aki's cricket and ripped off half of her dragon's life before it went down, even though I was just testing to see what pets I should bring for the "real" fight. (Fel Flame cleaned up after that, and I have nothing but love for that pet as well.) I have named him "Deepwater Horizon" because I am a tasteless and insensitive person like that.

So I'm having a weird problem. I've caught two of these as Rare, both with Attack bonuses. They are 19 when caught. As soon as I level them past 20, they lose their Attack bonus. Is anyone else having that problem?

If it helps anyone, found a rare at 59,39 near the crashed plane in the southern-most pool.

Wether or not it's a bug I cannot tell, it might be intended, but against Beegle Blastfuse, the first pet, casting corrision and then expunge has so far caused me to miss expunge for 20 times in a row. Slightly absurd for an 85% miss chance, don't use that combo againt him.
