Caught three rare Fire Beetles while trying to get a rare Lava Crab. The interesting thing about them was that they all had the same exact stats which struck me as unusual.

Very useful as a non-elemental for a Scorched Earth + Conflagrate build. Cauterize is amazing for keeping this little guy up, either you want a fast pet so you can recover from a big hit the next turn, or a slow one if you don't want to worry about the "last hit" being a dot tick (they're applied at the end of the turn, so Cauterize will heal less if the other pet has dots and you're pet goes first.)

Good choice for an Apocalypse team build because it's one of the few "roaches" with a self-heal. Combine with a team healer for best results.

A surprisingly good pet. I captured a rare H/H one of these while leveling my first team up and didn't think to use him much at first because there are so many beast attacks in the wild. But, I found him to be great against undead, and very useful for any roach teams. Cauterize is a solid heal, and paired with another buff heal like Renewing Mists or Tranquility, this little guy can take quite a bit of damage.

Once again - NEVER under-estimate the battle mechanics of any fight - meaning - if you think an attack won't kill an opponent - you're wrong. Always assume you're wrong - especially if it's too close.

I found a rare Fire Beetle with what appeared to be some good upgrades (yellow exclamation) and after slamming it with a big attack - causing it to drop significantly where I could use a lesser damage attack - it promptly cast that Scorched Earth spell - right before I did my attack - together = death.
