Scorpids come in an immense number of colors, even as catchable battle pets. When clicked, they make soft high-pitched insectoid 'trills', rattles, and clicks. Originally, only the yellow scorpid made these sounds, but now all of them do.

They don't appear to spawn independently in the Eastern Plaguelands, but they do appear as adds in pet battles there.

The ones I've caught appear to be color changers- if you dismiss and re-summon this pet, it will be a different color each time.

Since 5.1 the color changing effect has been fixed. My scorpids now summon the same color I tamed every time.

I've noticed 4 different colors for this battlepet in Thousand Needles; rose with black flecks, brownish-grey with a blue-green underbelly (default pic color), yellow with black flecks (durotar scorpid look-alike), and black with red spots.

Rose seems to be unique to this version of the scorpid battlepet (so far).

Found one as a 2nd battle pet in Eastern Plaguelands off an Infected Squirrel and luckily a rare to :)
