Maybe it's just me or the fact that this whole battle system is new, but I have had numerous times that the repair ability refuses to work, not sure what the issue is, but it sometimes proves to be worthless

Others may disagree, but I was sorely disappointed when this guy was downgraded to uncommon quality - so much so, that I used my first battle stone (which happened to be for mechanical, lucky me) to bring him back to rare.

This is the hardest hitting mechanical companion in terms of raw power, at least until Son of Animus is available. I've seen 1700 crits from supercharged metal fist on beasts. His big bros out in Hellfire would be proud.

Not the best battle pet out there, but far from bad. I'd actually recommend using it early on: since it's a mech, you'll be reaping nice, super-effective damage on beasts, and repair means you can go longer between "Heal Battle Pets" uses if you use it wisely

Despite having a 100% power growth (breed 4) it ends up a little weak, just over 300 rather than being near the 350 bracket of the truly powerful. It's a little faster to make up for that, but it will still go second against any foe with actual speed. That's the thing about speed: you either have "Enough" or "not enough": the speed of Lil' Deathwing at level 25 could be 4 rather than 211 and no one would really notice. This guy is pretty much the same way.

The mechanical typing that makes it so easy to level by pummeling omnipresent beasts hurts it in PVP pet battles, where Elemental abilities (if not actual elementals) run rampant, doing heavy damage to the World Destroyer and in the case of actual elemental-type foes, which are quite uncommon in the wild, resisting almost all of the world destroyer's attacks in the meantime

It is useful, however, for taking on the grandmasters and Beasts of Fable: A supercharged metal fist will carve a lot of hit points off the legendary Mushan or Goat, and I've been appreciating earthquake on Corageous Yon and especially Jeremy Feasel and his back line monkey.

As other have pointed out this beauty shines at the lower levels. I'm not sure what everyone else considers a lower level however, at level 10 you have the choice of changing Metal Fist for Thrash: a skill effective against critters. Screeching Gears isn't the most powerful choice vs. beasts, however, the combination of these 2 skills make it a great beast/critter slayer in my opinion (sadly you will not often benefit from the free strike from thrash due to it's speed), without the need to swap from this guy to a beast whenever you encounter a critter, will save you some health.

Just my 2 cents on this pet. Hope it helps some of you.

+ - useful for pet battle.Tactical abilites:
1)Lock-On/Launch Rocket 2nd use is not supposed to be on next turn after doing Locked On/Setup Rocket. You may delay the hit for using best advantage of enemy's vulnerability.
2)If you are faster: Extra Plating protects you from current round's main attack aswell.
