Final edit: located around any of the sha infested areas, the places that are black and white with, of course, sha mobs in the area. You do not need to do any pre quests for the herbs to be phased in, apparently, as I stated on the first day I played the expansion.

This comment has bothered me so much over the years. I'm not sure why, but I wanted to actually see whether idip31 was correct today as I was levelling another toon through here who had herbing. The ORIGINAL comment I wrote stated that the sha-touched/desecrated herbs only spawned around Serpents' Heart in the Jade forest after you do some certain quests. Now, I can clarify, I stand by my original statement. Why? Because Serpents Heart is under construction by Pandarens if you havent done any quest and gone straight there, because you only learn of the Sha overtaking the area - and destroying the construction going on there - via doing the quests. I was thinking there may be another use for them besides milling.. but they are very common in the area around the destroyed jade statue, so probably they aren´t going to be used for anything later on, they are just a flavor ´herb´

They can be looted from any Sha-touched area from the random herb nodes. But as of now they're only good for milling.

For those who are lazy as me and don't want to mill the herbs one by one, here's a one-button-milling macro for Mists herbs:

/cast Milling
/use Rain Poppy
/use Silkweed
/use Desecrated Herb
/use Green Tea Leaf
/use Fool's Cap
/use Snow Lily

The desecrated herbs are fine for milling, so they are not vendor trash.

The sha touched herb is a good node if you have not reached max level and still want to max out herbalism. The herbs you can actually find in the Jade Forest actually go grey well before you ding 600 on herbalism, but the sha-touched herbs can keep incrementing skill level. I maxed mine in the Valley of the Four Winds and managed to get some higher level herbs (Fool's cap and Golden Lotus) among the desecrated herbs. It's all good.

Gives me "Requires 5 Silkweed" error even though I have 3 stacks of green tea leaves placed before it in the bag.

These macros will not cross stacks ( or at least they have had problems with this in the past ) and they will go in order of how they are listed in the macro so to avoid errors:
- Make sure if Silkweed is listed above something else you won't end up with 1-4 remaining.
- Make sure your stacks do not have odd numbers until the very last stack ( like if you had a stack of 18 and hit a node for 3, you would have a full 20 to mill down but since it is a stack of 18 and a stack of 3 the macro will break on the last unless you top off the first )

The desecrated herbs are yellow till 580 then green till 600 so I stayed in this area for 10 mins and got herb 600.

Just be careful not to pull the elites and if you do use the jade to make them easier. the little mobs in the area dont follow for long

The Sha-touched herb also drops a randomn up to snow lilly and I got a lucky run of golden lotus
so in 10 mins I got 35 points in herb, and 4 stacks of assorted herbs
