As said above, the northern village in Felwood is the best for rep here, by drop rate and number of mobs available. Each feather/bead is worth 30 rep effectively (supposedly upped to 60 in 3.0). If you clear the whole camp as fast as it respawns, you can get about 100 feathers per hour. That means 3000 rep per hour, which really, is not that long to exalted, just extremely boring. As you no longer get rep from kills once revered, save up enough turnins to get 21000 rep, then turn in excess as you get them.

A determined 70 can scare away most other farmers -- they simply give up and go away after a few minutes :) Although it might be nice to group with lowbies, as they're often just there to do the "kill X" quest.

You may as well get the Wintersaber reputation in the process. At some point it requires you to kill loads of furbolgs, thus getting both Wintersaber and Timbermaw for it.
After being done with the Wintersabers I had about 300+ beads. (did it solo so beads may very in parties)
After that I found the best spot to farm beads/furbolgs in the northern part of Felwood. Especially with all these kickass new spells it should be no problem killing them.
I was protection specced warrior back then and it took some time to kill the furbolgs. Now with all the new things in prot it's really easy to kill.

...Just don't act like a madman if you see people doing quests there.

With patch 3.0.8 rep for gray mobs is back up to what it was when they were still green. So at level 80 I was getting 20rep per kill last night. Now I'm going to hit revered before I stockpile the 350 feathers :P

If u are used to grind, then this (seeing u have to kill 700-900 mobs) isn't hard to do. Compared to other grind levels (not only in WoW) this shouldn't take too long

Not sure if it changed as of 3.09 but when I hit exalted the only time I get rep is for killing chiefs. I still get 60 rep then but lost the 20 rep for killing regular furlbogs. The turn ins still give me 300 rep though...any confirmation?

for everyone who is going to farm exalted:
dont turn in the feathers until you hit revered cauz you won't get any rep for killing the normal mobs when you hit the revered status.
2 rarespawns and the chieftains give rep till exalted.

Something I found rather strange/funny was that I was 20999/21000 Revered and since I had just turned my last lot of Headress Feathers in, I decided to camp Chieftain Bloodmaw instead of collecting another 5. Upon killing him I gained no rep at all, so I ended up having to collect 5 more feathers and turn them in to gain the achievement.

Ok what i did. Farming all of these in north Felwood collecting feathers and killing mobs for 20 rep each (also there is one mob i think call the Captain who gives 60 rep). I comment here to NOT make the same mistake as i did. When i collect 100 feathers i handle them and i get almost revered so after i killed some mobs i didn't any more rep from kills. So just collect ALL the feathers (5 gives 300 rep) and handle them all together is the easy way..

i find it easyer to farm this rep by getting the feathers from the furbold in fel wood since its right beside timber maw hold and u can just go around in a circle killin them.

grinding right now, and tryed Winterspring then Felwood, it goes around 3 times faster(10-13min in felwood = 30-36min in Winterspring) in Northern Felwood (Felpaw Village) than in Winterspring (Winterfall Village)

So I've been trying to farm timbermaw rep at the timbermaw village and I'm at 3131/21000 and I am no longer getting rep unless its from a turn in from the feathers. Anyone have any idea why?

I grinded this in the Felpaw Village as well. One thing I did to relieve the tediousness was to invent a competition with myself, where I tried to keep up the buff from Muradin's Spyglass as long as I could. I managed to keep it at 10 stacks for about 10 minutes, try and beat it! ^^

Oh how I remember the length of time it took me to grind this.. and how much faster it would've been if I did it at 80 and not 60. Definitely worth it though, even if all I got out of it was an achievement.

My incentive to get this achievement was that all the time while I was grinding I only had a single thought "They're gonna love me in that tunnel".

Here is a little macro that can help you turn in tons of feathers.
Just speak with the quest mob and spam the macro.

Consider this: They are hostile to you. They will attack you on sight, they won't let you through if you want to get to Moonglade (not being a druid) or Winterspring. They demand you "earn their trust" before you're allowed to pass and there's no way around the tunnel. This is highway robbery in it's purest form.

Why in Azeroth would you want to suck up to this filth? Kill them all, burn their tunnel to the ground, sell their women and children to the other tribes, who, in all their corruptedness, never actually stand in your way.

I just want to point out that now, as of 4.0.3 and the Shattering, that it is RIDICULOUSLY easy to get exalted with Timbermaw (and, thus, this achievement). I went from mid-level honored to exalted in less than an hour.

You obviously get to keep your prior rep which helps a bit, but also a few of the quests for them reset, as well as there are a few new ones (on both sides of the tunnel, as well as some new quests outside the Winterfall camp to the east of Everlook). Additionally, you now get 2000 rep for each set of 5 beads that you turn in!

I feel sorry for people that grinded for days to get this since it's so easy now...

Deadwood mobs in Felpaw spawn insanely fast now. Dont know if this is intended or a bug but now is the time to get this achievement.

yep. can confirm that timbermaw rep is super easy now. plus the transform trinket is awesome. i went from 2000/21000 revered to exalted in about 4 minutes by turning in feathers.

hoping tonight that sha'tari skyguard is also bugged and easier. fingers crossed!

The rep count is 2200 if you are human. Took me 1 hour to go from hated to exalted.

As posters above said, this is now super-easy. Here are some details:

feather and bead turnins now give 2000rep per 5 feathers
furbolg killed gives 20 rep
around a half-dozen quests that give 1k+ rep per quest (amounts vary, and I forget the details)

I was high friendly or maybe low honored and I finished in less than one hour using a flying mount. Don't forget that there are quests on both sides of the tunnel, in Winterspring and in the zone to the west of the tunnel (I'm blanking on the name).

Ok, from neutral took me little less than a hour at 85 Disc Priest.

do all the quests starting from the ones in the northern part of felwood. when your done with all of them.

Come back to felwood!

the headdress feathers drop 1000000 times more than the beads do and they both turn in for the same amount of rep.

super super easy.

respawn rate is faster in the northern felwood camp, and also there is many more mobs that drop rep items than there is in Winterspring.

The bead turn in quest now grants 2100 rep per turn in instead of the original 300 rep. This is non-human and only having the +5% exp from quests guild bonus.

Now of Cata (Patch 4.0.3) the Azure Whelping possibly drops from this mob so if you happen to find one (depending on your server) it can sell for 3000g or more! You get an achievement and some extra gold. (:
(Note: This only drops from the Winterspring mob, its a zone drop)

Just wanted to add a newer post to this..
The New rep point total for 5 beads to Salfa is 2100, so the rep goes up pretty fast. Just an FYI for those still working on this!

Its like most people say after 4.0.3 its just too easy , i went from unfriendly to exalted in about an hour.
collected the beads in wintersping that gave 2100 rep pr 5 (dropped from every 2 or 3 mobs)

I went from Unfriendly to Exalted in less than an hour. Easy!
I was not a human, so no rep bonus from race. However, I had 10% rep bonus from the Guild Perk. If you really want to know the amount of rep without any bonus, just multiply the rep with 0.9 and you get a sense of how much it is. Not a big difference, only a few more mins of farming.

Each furbolg gives you 22 rep except for Chieftain Bloodmaw, he gives you 66 rep. If you're done with the quests, I recommend you to farm Deadwood Headdress Feather in Felwood (the furbolgs are closer to each other so it goes faster to kill).

Disarming Bears - 1100 rep
Mystery Goo - 1100 rep
Winterfall Runners - 1100 rep
The Final Piece - 1100 rep
