Best Stats for Retribution Paladinyou get twice as many secondary stats (like Haste) from gems compared to primary stats (like Strength)

Hit & Expertise (up to 7.5%): Our top priority is to reach the 7.5% cap for both of these stats, so that we don't dodge or miss attacks.

Haste: Increases attack speed and lowers the cooldown & global cooldown of our abilities. This is the stat we will most often consider.

Strength: This comes automatically with all our gear, increasing with the item level of the gear, and cannot be reforged.

Mastery: Causes our abilities to deal extra Holy damage, and scales well throughout Mists, but not as well as Haste.

Critical Strike: Increases our chance to critically strike with both spells and abilities. This is our worst stat.

Keep in mind that the value of each stat will shift over time as each stat scales differently with higher-level gear. Retribution Paladin Stats

Hit: Reduces the chance for your attacks to miss. When your attacks miss, they do not generate Holy Power or trigger .

Expertise: Reduces the chance for your attacks to dodge or parry. When your attacks dodge or parry, they do not generate Holy Power or trigger . If you attack an enemy from behind, which you generally will in PvE content, the enemy cannot parry your attacks; therefore, we are mostly focused on dodge.

Haste: Compresses the rotation, allowing for more frequent use of abilities by reducing the cooldown and global cooldown. This stat has various breakpoints, or thresholds, where reaching a specific amount of Haste will allow you to fit one extra spell in your rotation, etc.

Strength: Increases attack power, therefore increasing all damage done. This is found on all plate DPS gear and will scale with the item level of the gear.

Mastery: Causes Crusader Strike, Divine Storm, Templar's Verdict, Hammer of Wrath, and Hammer of the Righteous to deal extra Holy damage.

Critical Strike: Simply increases the chance for spells and abilities to critically strike. We don't have many methods of interacting with critical strikes.
