Blood Death Knight Changes in Mists of Pandaria Blood Death Knight Stat & Attribute Changes in Mists of Pandaria

Hit — Now requires 7.5% Hit (2550 rating) to reach Melee Hit cap.

Expertise — No longer reduces the target's chance to Dodge and Parry simultaneously. You'll first need to hit 7.5% Expertise (2550 rating) to reach Spell Hit cap and to remove a boss's ability to Dodge, then another 7.5% to remove its ability to Parry.

Parry & Dodge — Now also converts into 75% Critical Strike rating, through .

Strength — Now gives increased Parry conversion.

Blood Death Knight Changes to Existing Abilities in Mists of Pandaria

Global Cooldown — Death Knights join the ranks of Rogues, Feral Druids, and Monks in having a 1-second global cooldown (GCD), down from 1.5 seconds. This greatly increases the fluidity of the class.

Dancing Rune Weapon — No longer costs Runic Power.

— No longer costs an Unholy Rune and has been taken off the global cooldown.

Raise Dead — Lowered from a 3-minute cooldown to a 2-minute cooldown and now has Attack Power as a scaling modifier. Attack Power through does not apply.

— Has been moved from the talent tree into a passive and now causes to refresh the disease timers of and .

Outbreak — Cooldown of Outbreak has been increased from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Cooldown can be completely removed with the newly introduced .

Anti-Magic Shell — Now gives Runic Power while absorbing magical damage, similar to the Wrath of the Lich King version of the spell.

— Now procs from your attacks instead of from taking attacks, while still granting procs from dodging and parrying. The spell now also grants you a 20% healing increase to your next Death Strike, stacking up to 5 times.

— Now grants 2% dodge instead of 6 Expertise.

Death Pact — Has been moved into the talent tree and now heals you for 50% of your health, up from 25%, while draining 50% of your pet's health, rather than fully consuming it.

— The healing from your Bloodworm bursting scales with Health, turning you into an additional raid healer. Damage from Bloodworms scales with Attack Power.

— This spell has been moved from the baseline kit into the talent tree and no longer has a cooldown, but it requires Blood Charges to use, gained by using or Death Coil.

Runic Power Cost — A lot of Runic Power costs have been lowered: Dancing Rune Weapon 60 → 0 | Raise Ally 50 → 30 | Mind Freeze 20 → 0. Runic Power Mastery is removed.

Runic Empowerment — No longer baseline. Moved into talent tree where it competes with and Runic Corruption

Crimson Scourge — Now gives you the option to cast a Death and Decay without a Rune cost.

Blood Boil — No longer has a 50% damage penalty when spreading diseases.

Change
was changed in Mists of Pandaria and will now play a big role in how you approach the game, both from an offensive and defensive perspective. Understanding how it works and how to use it to your advantage will be critical as a Tank.

Grants Attack Power equal to 1.8% of unmitigated damage taken for 20 sec.
Attack Power buff from is capped at the player's maximum health.
Miss, Dodge, and Parry will grant as if the strike landed.
Receiving a critical hit will reduce gain from that attack by 50%.
Standing in persistent area damage effects, like fire on the ground, does not grant .

Blood Death Knight New Abilities

- Strikes an enemy for 130% weapon damage and afflicts the target with Soul Reaper. After 5 sec, if the target is below 35% health, this effect will deal 50368 additional Shadow damage. If the enemy dies before this effect triggers, the Death Knight gains 50% haste for 5 sec. This is your execute-esq ability, and it deals a lot of damage.

— When you Dodge or Parry any attack, you gain 75% of your Parry and Dodge as additional Critical Strike for 20 sec. This is a new passive that influences your gearing choices greatly.

Control Undead — Dominates the target undead creature, forcing it to do your bidding. This spell is limited in use, but does have niche use cases, like in Challenge Modes.

Tier 1 Talents

— Your Blood Boil ability now also triggers Pestilence if it strikes a diseased target.

Plague Leech — Consumes your diseases while activating two fully depleted Runes.

Unholy Blight — Infects all targets within 10 yards with diseases. Buff lasts for 10 seconds and spreads new diseases every 1 second.

Tier 2 Talents

Purgatory — Acts as a cheat death, meaning you can survive a fatal blow if you're healed enough during the purgatory debuff window.

Tier 3 Talents

— You passively move 10% faster, and movement-impairing effects may not reduce you below 70% of normal movement speed. When activated, you gain 30% movement speed and may not be slowed below 100% of normal movement speed for 6 seconds.

Tier 4 Talents

Death Siphon — Deals Shadowfrost damage to an enemy, healing the Death Knight for 150% of damage dealt.

Conversion — A toggle on/off ability which converts 5 Runic Power into 3% max health every second.

Tier 5 Talents

Runic Corruption — When you land a damaging Death Coil or Rune Strike, you have a 45% chance to activate Runic Corruption, increasing your rune regeneration rate by 100% for 3 sec.

Tier 6 Talents

Gorefiend's Grasp — Shadowy tendrils coil around all enemies within 20 yards of a target (hostile or friendly), pulling them to the target's location (Mass grip).

— Surrounds the Death Knight with a swirling tempest of frigid air for 8 sec, chilling enemies within 8 yards every 1 sec. Each pulse reduces targets' movement speed by 15% for 3 sec, stacking up to 5 times. Upon receiving a fifth application, an enemy will be stunned for 6 sec.

Desecrated Ground — Corrupts the ground in an 8-yard radius beneath the Death Knight for 10 sec. While standing in this corruption, the Death Knight is immune to effects that cause loss of control. This ability instantly removes such effects when activated.
