does this mean you can have 5 pets out at once?

no i think it means that you can summon your pet in your 5th stable slot.
would be cool though if you can actually have 5 pets out at once.

This ability is 1 of 5 "Call Pet" abilities that Hunters can learn. Notes about this particular spell:

Has nothing to do with the pets in your Stable.
Summons the pet in the fifth slot of your "Call Pet" ability list, making it your active pet.

Additional Notes:

You will learn the following spells as you level:
召唤宠物 1 lvl 1
召唤宠物 2 lvl 18
召唤宠物 3 lvl 42
召唤宠物 4 lvl 62
召唤宠物 5 lvl 82
You can add pets to "Call Pet" ability list by either:
a) taming additional pets via 驯服野兽.
b) visiting any <Stable Master> and dragging stabled pets to your "Call Pet" ability list.
You can switch between the pets in your "Call Pet" ability list with 解散宠物, then select a different pet in the "Call Pet" ability drop down menu.
Using any of these spells will NOT summon more than one pet at a time.
If the lvl 87 ability, 群兽奔腾, is used:
a) all 5 pets in your "Call Pet" ability list will be summoned at once.
b) if you do not have 5 pets already in your "Call Pet" ability list, copies of your active pet will be summoned instead. source
c) only your active pet will use its Special Attack Ability, the other 4 will use auto attack. source
d) *NEEDS CONFIRMATION* It appears all 5 pets might apply their respective buffs when summoned (sources/speculation below):
• All 5 pets will use their 低吼 ability unless you turn them off. source
