Created by binding a 治疗石 to a 失落军团的封印书典, which will likely be obtainable by Warlocks during the new 黑暗神殿 scenario, titled "Pursuing the Black Harvest."

This is continuing a storyline that was introduced via 大师遗训（卷一）, an in-game book found in Stormwind and Orgrimmar in Patch 5.0.4, which deals with a group of warlocks called the Council of the Black Harvest. The Council was responsible for stealing and propagating the various new techniques that Warlocks have access to in Mists of Pandaria, and was last seen preparing to venture into the Black Temple.

Apparently this starts a Warlock quest chain that leads to the Black Temple in Outland. Akama is involved somehow.

From the 5.2 patch notes:

Warlocks can now undertake a solo adventure that culminates with the ability to change the color of their Fire spells to appear Fel green. The quest begins for those Warlocks determined or fortunate enough to have laid their hands on the fabled Codex of Xerrath.

Now we just need to figure out how to get it.

克萨雷斯魔典 DROP INFORMATION

The quest item that drops of these bosses required by warlocks for the "Green Flame" quest is easily obtained as the rare-bosses carry Faction-Player Tag, meaning everyone gets to loot when it's killed, , damage done or if you died or not during the fight, aslong as you have participated on the boss you get to loot. Out of my 5 kills on different rares i haven't been able to obtain one, so I suppose we can call it a slighty rare drop all though Blizzard stated "It will not have a stupidly low drop-rate", as it seems they were wrong, might be bad luck, dno. But the drops for me has been rare.

So i got the quest item and started it, its so much fun, but i got to the final boss and it takes skill and quick reaction time. I suggest going in with flasks food ect., treat it like a raid. The problem i came to is i need to repair and had no means to, so i am hoping that if i hearth home i can get it back like every other quest out there. For right now i am glad i got that far! :D

Found the quest today on the . I farmed various mobs over the Isle off and on when a friend asked for help defeating this rare. At this time I believe that it is still a drop off all mobs on the Isle. Just thought other locks might want to see if the Construct drops the quest for them. EDIT: I can confirm as well that only one copy drops at a time. Have spots open in your bags and auto loot on!

This drops off almost all mobs around isle of thunder, but your best bet is to kill rare spawns. Feel free to kill regular mobs while waiting for a rare to come up.

Rares will only drop 1 book at a time, and basically the first or only 1 warlock to tag the boss gets it.

At the end of the quest line after you kill the last boss, does the fel energy hook up to all your specs or just the one you defeated him in?

Just a note on faction looting. It has been said elsewhere that these rares are not limited by faction looting. I can confirm this is true with this tome. I (Allliance) saw a group of Horde trying to take down Haywire, so I took a chance and popped a Conflagrate once, then ran like Hell. I figured it was worth a shot to see if there was loot when they all left the corpse alone. Well, they accidentally pulled the big T. Rex and got themselves all killed. I was able to stroll in while they rezzed, and by golly gosh on fire I was able to loot this tome. I had participated in about 25 rare kills before this dropped. Happy Hunting!

My Succubus was the demon I had to talk to. I don't know if it's a random demon or not.
Edit 1: Then talked to my Voidwalker for the second part of the quest.

To all those lovers of toys and tricks...if you use aqua jewel 水润珠宝 and have finished this quest, and are in demon spec...when you go into demo form you are completely invisible to the eye except for your shadow on the ground.

ive been on the hunt for this for the last 3 nights. ive been camping them through a cross realm group on a low pop server. i dont know if its because i got my mom the quest on the 4th boss i killed for her or if its because my ilvl is too low to even solo the quest. at this point im really mad because i signed up again after being off for 5 months cause i wanted green flames, do to... being disappointed from farming days and nights for my disgusting oozling and it didnt even make my flames green i just looked green with red flames and is was dumb..

Killing rare mobs only, doing constant runs, it took me 39 kills to get this drop. Finally got it on KU.

5.4 PTR Patch notes.

The Codex of Xerrath now infuses additional spells with fel magic (green fire effect).
Summon Felsteed, Summon Dreadsteed, Summon Abyssal, Demonic Fury, Dark Apotheosis, and Demonic Leap.

after many many many so many attempts i finally defeated the scenario. unfortunately the two doom lords and pit lord decided not to despawn so i had to grab the fel power and peg it.

worth it though seeing red fire from other warlocks and just thinking to yourself. mine looks more bad ass then yours :)

It would be really great if this was an Account-wide switch. Once you complete the quest all of your warlocks have green fire... that would be some awesome-sauce right there ;)

If you decide you no longer want your fire spells to be green after you do the quest go talk to Jubeka at the Altar of Damnation and she'll be able to make them their normal color again. Be warned: this costs 500g (thanks, Balthana). You can also, if you decide to switch again, reabsorb Kanrethad's power at the same place.

(Altar of Damnation is the altar where 古尔丹 resides.)

I completed this awhile back and my only question is. How come when I use my Dreadsteed with Glyph of Nightmares, the trail of flames left behind is still red and not green?

Well I hope you aren't carrying around 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 Healthstones from the talent Pact of Gluttony. The quest item clearly says "Combine with a Healthstone", who would be so silly to not carefully read the instructions? (Me) Take off that talent and you'll be good to go. I hope this helps someone at some point.

For anyone completing this for the first time, 2 things that are important:

1) You MUST use the green healthstone on the Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion to create this item. the Demonic (red) Healthstones do not work on this item. So you will have to unlearn "Pact of Gluttony" temporarily.
2) I haven't fully tested this, but you need to talk to at least 2 of your summon pets in order to complete the auto-accepted quest on the Codex. I used my Incubus and Voidlord. Incubus was able to complete the step "Determine the language of the codex," while Voidlord was able to complete the second step "Determine the purpose of the codex". That being said, it is entirely possible that the voidlord alone could complete the quest entire. OR, you start with the voidlord (voidwalker) and complete with the Incubus/Succubus. Again, I haven't full explored this. But, contrary to the YouTube video, you do NOT need to switch your Incubus to a Succubus to complete this quest.
