For those confused, this is a great Bear tanking trinket if you're not expertise capped (which is a hard task at 85). The agi helps you crit more which is used to proc Savage Defense.

I don't get why Blizzard does things like this. Having this trinket also proc on ranged hit only gives bad/annoying hunters another item to steal from people who benefit from it to a far larger degree.

Obviously, this trink is optimally used by melee class where AGI is their prime stat. However, there is no reason a hunter should grab this when melee AGI's don't want/need.

We're talking about a ilvl 333 here... no class should be striving to keep this trink long enough to warrant a hunter/no-hunter debate. It's a temp piece for melee AGI's and then hunter's/tank and then disenchantment.... 'nough said.

For those who comment that it's not really a hunter trink, I will say that while we really don't need the Expertise, this trinket CAN be reforged with whatever stat we need (whether hit, haste or crit).

So while it is a great trink for rogues & druids, don't disparage hunters who may roll need on it (especially if they have ilvl 272 or ilvl 289 trinkets and aren't raiding/aren't yet geared for heroics).
