Compared to Helm of Purified Thoughts, you are basically trading stamina for the 17 mp/5 on this. In addition to being better for PVE, you'll want it for the 4 piece T7 set bonus, along with the shoulders, gloves, and legs (all of which are perfectly itemized.)

It's arguable as to whether you use the chest or helm for the 4 pc bonus, since both waste stat points on mp/5. The T7 chest is usually passed up for the much better and easy-to-get Chestplate of the Great Aspects from Sarth 25 or Chivalric Chestguard in Naxx 10. Having a Faceguard of the Succumbed from Thaddius 25 is pretty much the only time you wouldn't go 4 pc + chest.

Too bad it's a slight downgrade from Helm of the Corrupted Mind. You'd be trading Haste for MP5. No thanks.

Yeah, if you're a hardcore raider, you're going to want to pursue Chestplate of the Great Aspects and use the helm for the 4-piece set bonus, but I probably won't get to see Sarth any time soon, and the 5% saved on Holy Light isn't that big a deal for me.
