Picked this trinket over Bladefist's Breadth as a feral druid. The DPS trinket is easily replaced by Ancient Draenei War Talisman, this one isn't so easily replaceable. It's a poor-man's Lifegiving Gem.

I was able to replace the Bladefist's Breadth trinket with this one after contacting a GM. I recommend doing this if you regret taking the other one.

Has this trinket's healing effect been nerfed like the Lifegiving Gem? There is no mention of it in 2.1.0 patch notes...

Clearing some things up:

This trinket is like a short term heal. For example, if you are getting attacked, and you have 100 health left, and you pop this, you have 1000 health for 15 seconds.

If you take no damage, in 15 seconds you will have 100 health again. If you take damage, and get down to, say 300 health, when the effect wears off you will have 1 health.

I've actually used it several times while soloing as a fury warrior. When I'm about to die, I pop it, and usually it's enough that I live, kill the mob, and can eat afterwards.

It isn't a heal though- it adds 900 hp to your available and maximum hp, and when the effect wears off, both of those are removed. If you have less than 900 hp when the effect wears off, you will have 1 hp.

Considering the trinket choices available from 60-70, I went with this one. It has nice +defense on it for when I'm getting tanking gear together later on. I plan on getting the +hit trinket considering the effects don't stack anymore (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=31617) and probably the hourglass of the unraveller for dps, so the Bladefist's Breadth isn't really important in the long run. On my last toon I ran into several trinkets very similar to Bladefist's Breadth, but not really any like this one.

I picked the dps trinket over this one, and I've been regretting it ever since. Had I known then that I'd have about 500 dps trinkets to choose from, and so few tanking trinkets, I'd have grabbed this in a heartbeat.

I wonder if I could still get this swapped... It's been three or so months now since I did the quest.

Bottom line - if you're going to be tanking, get this trinket. You'll find plenty of dps trinkets in short order.

As a Prot Pally this thing is pro. At lvl 60 the passive effect adds 0.68% to each chance of block, dodge, and parry. The Use effect works very well in combination with the Argent Defender talent.

One thing people are overlooking about this trinket is the benefit to a feral druid, specced for Improv Leader of the Pack (100% chance to heal for 4% "total" health). Popping this gives your crits a boost to the heals it provides. while the effect cannot occur more than once per 6 seconds, and the trinket only lasts for 15 sec, the boost to the heals will probably only occur once or twice, but in a tight situation, that extra healing could possibly save you (and the group)

Wonder if you want this trinket over the bladefist as an paladin or warrior ?

This trinket is a life saver if you miss pulled while lvling. See it as a free health pot kinda + when you ding 70 you can use it as starter tank gear. Thats my best 2 reasons :) Im sure this trinket will save me alot of times while lvling.

Very worth taking this over bladefist if you plan on tanking at 70 etc.

While it's not bad in ANY sense of the word, it's a bit silly to pass up the spell damage (for pallys/future Balance Druids) or AP (Pallys, warriors, ferals) for this for quite a while.

Still, if you plan to tank from 61-70, then grab this.

Can someone explain to a noob DK tank how this works? I just took this trinket, but still not sure on the useage. Is it for mitigating damage spikes?

For example, say you have 10,000hp, and are down to 5,000hp. You get hit with a 2500 dmg spike, to 2500hp. You pop the trinket. Does it raise your max hp to 10,900 and increase your current hp from 2500 to 3400? Or something else?

It bears mentioning that for all plate-wearing tanks that are leveling from 68-80 and did not participate in BC endgame enough to get upgrades for this trinket - it is well worth hanging onto! This and Dabiri's Enigma from Dimensius the All-Devouring remain viable all the way up to 78, when you can get your first major trinket upgrade with Defense on it. Tanking trinkets are extremely rare from this level range and the ones you take from BC will likely help you a lot as you constantly upgrade your gear to keep up with being crit-immune.

Has anyone noticed if this is bugged?

I was on my Death Knight today, and noticed that it's only giving me 10 Defense Rating... Not the 26 that it claims.

She's only a 72, I wouldn't think that Blizz would screw with something like this, but, I've been wrong before...

It makes me sad though, as that's a huge drop in her Defense Rating, while I'm attempting to level her as a Tank...

On my Protection Paladin I have combined this trinket together with Divine Protection and Lay on Hands (on self) into an "oh sh..." macro.

Do not choose this trinket. For leveling purposes, Bladefist's Breadth is worth a lot more. For level 70 tanking, get Brooch of the Immortal King

The Bladefist's Breadth from this quest have shared CD with many trinkets, Earthstrike amongst them..

Does this trinket share the same CDs? I have Earthstrike and Bladefist's Breadth isn't so interesting since they share CD, but if the Regal Protectorate can be used togeher with Earthstrike it would be nice.

Like a mini lifegiving gem for all classes. In comparison to the other 2 rewards its kinda of under whelming. Since getting a large stam pool is many times easier then stacking AP or +damage in TBC. 900 health really isn't that much.

If you are a tank take this one. At 500 defense you become uncrittable and so this is very useful to that end. Forget the cooldown, it's nice but beside the point. Later on down the road you will wish you had this as you venture into Kara and heroics as a main tank. Its not easy to pile up all the defense, parry, dodge, shield block, armor and life, start now.
The brooch of the immortal kings is better and extremely difficult to get - the quest to summon terrok once is mind numbing and the brooch has a 8.7 % drop rate so you might have to summon him many times even assuming no one else in the party wanted it.

This trinket is really great for tanking, I suggest all warriors take it. It doesn't just raise your max health but adds 900 health to you, so it helps for soloing a lot as well.

Don't pass up this trinket - it's unique. There will be other +AP trinkets that you can get, but none as good for tanking as this one.

I debated this trinket vs. the other rewards, and now later in the game, I'm sooo glad I picked this one (I'm a warrior).

I'm picking this as a Feral Tank druid. Defense trinks/rings are of great importance to us due to the lack of good Defense Leathers... Plus we don't have a last stand - this will compensate a little for it =)

There's one "minor" glitch about this though.. When you use it, you gain 900 max 900 current HP; so far it makes sense right?... When 15 seconds pass you lose 900max AND 900 CURRENT HP. Besides the defense, the use function is completely worthless. This functions in no way like 'heals you' or 'blocks X damage for X seconds' trinkets. very crapulent.

hunter weapon. i see that it is be good for tanks, but hunters have crappy defence, and with only a 30 sec cooldown this is great for us hunters when we pull agro off our pets :D

This is good for any class that wants to survive longer in battle verses the other 3 reward options. But your opinion my vary, I however like it for pvp and soloing to survive longer. Even tough I may not put out as much damage and crit as a lock, I survive longer and dont put out as much agro verses the other available spell damage item (vengance ring), so I last longer and so does my felguard because my extra 900 heath from this ring effects my demon as well. And stacks with + % health points as well in my talent point tree. So it's more than 900 hp for me as a demon spec. lock and my felhunter gets more hp. And us casters can always use some defense since we usually have very little.

I mean it's almost an extra 1k health every 5 min. as well, just pop it at the begining of every or every other battle.... comon.

I really wish I chose this, I'm level 70 now (tankadin) and not having Last Stand hurts, so this would pwn with that trinket from 2nd boss SL.
