100% droprate on first boss in Utgarde Keep. Just killed him 3 times and he dropped one each time. It's just like the santa hats.

He's not really easy, so get a few people together. Did it with 80 prot warrrior (~1400dps), 80 poorly geared resto druid(barely had a chance to dps) and a 78 rogue with really poor dps (less than 500, prisons are ~2000hp). Which made it a bit challenging with the ice prisons. Due to the overall low dps it was mostly up to my warrior to get people out of the prisons, which sometimes got a little too close for comfort when it got imprisoned.

just done utgarde keep normal today and got the bouquet on 1st attempt
i'm a lvl 80 hunter, did it together with a lvl 80 resto shaman
dont know if its a 100% droprate, but i needed only 1 attempt

By far the fastest way to do this is the first boss in Utgarde Keep. You can sneak past most trash in the instance, the only stuff you HAVE to kill is the forge packs at the beginning, since you can't go on without killing the Forge Master so the flames stop. Everything else can be stealthed past, or without stealth, you have to kill only a few extras. Like the 2 pull at the beginning blocking the way, and the Proto Drake + Handler pull before the undead hallway.

Then just reset it and do it again per party member. Took us around 5 minutes per person with 2 people.

Completed this two days ago. partied with a 80 lock and 80priest. I tanked and dps-ed (unholy dk).
Had to do it three times since its a one drop per person. Takes about 10min per run so in 30min 3 chars where closer to completing the total achievement. Do it in UK on normal.

(I got extremely lucky with my bag of candy's; took me 1 bag to get all 8 different ones :P)

For those wondering, even though you can trade BoP items in dungeons for a short time now, you CAN NOT trade this item. Tried it with a guild member, and wouldn't work. You will need to kill the boss once for every member of the group looking to get this item.

I'm up to 6 times on regular with nothing. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one with the problem. I remember the drop rate was 100% last year, was it changed this year? I don't mind grinding it out, but if I'm never going to get it, I'd rather not waste my time.

*edit* It seems like they've now been moved to the end bosses of certain Cata dungeons. So far I can confirm Stonecore and Deadmines.

I for one got the Red Rose from Ahn'kahet about 3 days ago before the newest patch. However, earlier today I saw it drop in Grim Batol off Dragha Shadowburner.

Not sure if it drops from normal mode though..

My brother and i ran Lost City of Tol'Vir on normal but didn't see any drop of this item. Considering the bosses are mythical "thundercats" type bosses i didnt think any of them would have a rose. This was only one run so it might just be an occasional drop instead of 100%

It dropped last night off of I believe was Dragha Shadowburner on a normal run. When I first read the guide for these achievements, it had said that you could only get them from a few bosses in LK dungeons. Glad they fixed it. :)

Just to update this achievement's info.. this can be obtained by looting the flowers in Drahga Shadowburner @ Grim Batol Dungeon (no idea about the drop rate).

It means you don't need to go way back to northrend to farm some dungeons if you are doing 85 dungeons.

Protip: You can edit your previous post rather than posting twice.

As for whether or not your 68 can get a bouquet, I'm not entirely sure. These may behave like the Winter Hats, which are a world drop with a very poor drop rate, and a high drop rate off specific bosses. WotLK Bosses also seem to drop them, albeit with a lower drop rate.

AFAIK, they're available from these Cataclysm bosses as of 4.0.6:

Dragha Shadowburner - Grim Batol
High Priestess Azil - The Stonecore
Corla, Herald of Twilight - Blackrock Caverns
Lord Godfrey - Shadowfang Keep (H)
Admiral Ripsnarl - The Deadmines (H)

~~And possibly Vanessa VanCleef.~~
Seems Vanessa didn't get a Valentine's this year.

Any confirmation on possible world drop would be appreciated.

Comfirmed 100% drop for the boss Dragha Shadowburner in Grim Batol on Normal. Dropped Red roses 5/5 runs.

The people claiming that Utgardt Keep bosses drop them, they are wrong... Ran 5 times on Normal and 1 time Heroic no roses.

Edit:
Also ran Azjol-Nerub, Ahn'kahet : The Old Kingdom, Drak'Tharon Keep, Gundrak, The Violet Hold, The Nexus, and The Halls of Stone. On Normal, No roses dropped.

Yeah, These stupid roses will not drop for me... as a 85 i decided "I'll just run Utgarde Keep, I can solo it and it will drop easily off the first run" I quickly found out i was wrong. These did not drop for me about 10-15 times i ran Utgarde Keep.

This seems to be somewhat difficult to obtain, I have run several instances that are supposed to drop the bouquets and have yet to see any drop. As a mage it becomes frustrating to wait in long ques for cat dungeons just to fail with recieving this item....or never even seeing it drop. I have also soloed several of the WOTLK dungeons and have yet to see it drop there either. This is one of 2 cheevs left for Love is in the air that i have remaining and am thinking I will have to wait til next Feb for to earn The long strange trip cheev, instead of being able to get it in June.

Update: Ran through Grim Batol 3 times and it appears to be a 100% drop rate from there.

Man, Freddy, I am with you on this all the way. I love playing WoW, but am tired of having to deal with rude kids.

Beyond this achievement, in order to even access higher game content Blizz forces us into collaboration with these kids who seem to have nothing to do but play 12 hours a day, and lord their expertise over you in the most insulting and impatient manner.

I haven't seen anything here besides the GM comment about holiday hats, but does anyone know if Telestra drops roses in Nexus? I got my hat off her in heroic for the 2010 holidays (my son got, also, the next run, which may mean 100% or just lucky). This would seem the easiest for a well-geared solo or rogue or duet of 85s if she drops the roses.

I saw it drop on the second boss in Grim Batol normal. I rolled on it but lost. I ran through Utgarde Keep, but it never dropped and I took down all of the bosses while in there. Keep looking, that is what I am going to do. :-)

As for Patch 4.0.6, lvl 85

I killed Maiden x2 in normal mode and x1 in heroic, also Prince Taldaram in heroic and Telestra in Nexus(heroic) and no rose dropped, so I would say they don't drop anymore in WotLK instances.

This is hard achievement now I'll have to roll against 5 or 4 ppl in Cata dungeon who also need it. What a waste of time...

My guess is the mob needs to be at least green in difficulty in order for it to drop. I would say the best way to get it is to get a tank or healer and run normal Grim Batol until you get it >>

Prior to the hotfix patch - half way through the holiday event! - the original bosses dropped it (Utgarde Keep, etc.). Blizzard decided to change the rules of the game mid-holiday. So, now all the alts me and my wife run have missed out. Just as some here have found.

Really, it would not have been an issue if the holiday change was made prior to the event going live. But this demonstrates a rising complacency and incompetence on the part of Blizzard.

I reckon the comment about it only dropping if the NPC is green for you is accurate. 80+s probably have to hit the Cata Dungeons. Under 80s might be able to get them in the WotLK dungeons.

Problem is people are posting they got them without saying what level they are .. Especially with the WotLK dungeons! POST YOUR LEVEL!

My red rose bouquet finally dropped off Drahga Shadowburner (3rd boss) in Grim Batol, normal.

I'm really glad it did, because it's the last day of the holiday event. I didn't want to wait another year to try for that crazy violet drake.

I thought it would be a pain to get the roses on my characters this year since I started working on this achievement after 4.0.6 which removed the ability to easily get the bouquet from WotLK normals. After 4.0.6, the drop rate in the WotLK instances is pretty low. It's not a guaranteed drop like the red winter hat and must be heroic only. I've talked to many others who are doing this and none of them got it from a WotLK instance. However, it's not as difficult as one might think.

If you are a fresh 80, the first thing to do is just get enough in-game gearscore to be able to queue for Blackrock Caverns. Do some quests in Hyjal or Vash'jir, or purchase some gear on the AH. Remember, in-game gearscore is calculated with the stuff you wear AND the stuff in your bags, so don't sell any gear to vendor until after you are done with the achievement.

Second, find a level 85 tank to roflstomp your way through BRC, the queue should be close to instant. The second boss drops the roses guaranteed, even on normal. At this point (currently only 1 day left in the holiday) you probably won't even have to roll against anyone for the roses since so many people already have them.

It has been said already about last year’s holiday, but I can confirm that for 4.3.2 the easiest way I found to get your 一束红玫瑰 is the second boss in 黑石岩窟

I also tried clearing two lv80 dungeons on heroic and Throne of Tides on normal, but didn’t get any drops. Maybe they drop here also, but its not worth the time because of the apparent low drop rate.

I duoed Backrock Caverns (lv85 PAL and SHA) quite easily, and got the drop on the second boss 柯尔拉，暮光之兆. Went out, reset the instance and cleared to the second boss again and again got the drop. A well geared 85 should be able to solo this, it was much easier than clearing Throne of Tides and that didn’t even yield a drop...

Edit: Forgot to mention 一束红玫瑰 drops in 黑石岩窟 on Normal, you dont have to do it on Heroic :)

Just soloed 柯尔拉，暮光之兆 on normal mode as a 397 Fire Mage to obtain the 一束红玫瑰. Was very simple.

Had to kill the first boss and some trash.

-- Blink away from the boss when you get Chains of Woe. DoT and scorch the chain. Boss died for me during the second Chain of Woe -- Did not need Time Warp.

柯尔拉，暮光之兆 -- just stand in one beam, use Time Warp and Mirror Image. Burn 柯尔拉，暮光之兆 as fast as possible, her Evolved Zealots will stun you for 2 seconds with -- if followed by 重力打击 and 暗影突击 you will take a lot of damage.

I killed her just as her Zealot Evolved and only got stunned. I didn't take any damage during the encounter.

Easy achievement.

The bouquets will only drop from a few bosses, who are situated in Cataclysm dungeons. These bosses are Drahga Shadowburner in Grim Batol (third boss); Corla, Herald of Twilight in Blackrock Caverns (second boss); High Priestess Azil in Stonecore (final boss); Admiral Ripsnarl in Deadmines (fourth boss); and Lord Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep (final boss).

The items will not drop from any other bosses in these instances, nor any bosses in other instances except those mentioned below. The items will drop on both Normal and Heroic modes (though just Heroic mode for Admiral Ripsnarl and Lord Godfrey), and the drop chance is 100% (Guaranteed).

The items may also drop from certain bosses in Hour of Twilight dungeons, however these are not a guaranteed drop chance, unlike the drops in the "standard" dungeons. From the data collected so far, the following bosses can drop the flowers: Queen Azshara in Well of Eternity (second boss); Asira Dawnslayer in Hour of Twilight (second boss); Echo of Sylvanas and Echo of Jaina, in End Time. ~~This list is not necessarily complete.~~

It should also be mentioned that the items no longer drop from the Wrath of the Lich King dungeons like it has done on previous occasions. The only bosses it will drop from are the ones mentioned above.

Please ignore the statistics of drop chance for these items on Wowhead. The reason it is <~5% is because that is across all of their data for loot dropped, and since nearly all the kills of the bosses are recorded in times other than during this event, by its very nature the percentage drop chance displayed is incorrect.

Hope this clears things up for everyone looking for how to do this achievement in the latest Love is in the Air event.

I've run the Utgrade Keep in normal and heroic more than 20x, I didn't even get one; however first round in a Heroic Shadowfang Keep on this patch 4.3.2 prevailed =) Being lvl 85 to note. However on a side note, I did get quite a bit of the 可爱的情人符 in Heroic mode off the trash on the way to the boss. :)

After reading Jolkster's comment, I gave it at go (in normal mode) on my own feral kitty, itl. 383, bear-specced but with pure dps gear (except for 1 stamina trinket).

I simply nuked the boss in Cat Form until the 2 Zealots had transformed into dragonkins. At that point I went into Bear Form and continued nuking the boss down. I had like 40-50k hp at the most critical point (when the 2 mobs started attacking me), but nothing really dangerous (I think I popped Survival instinct and Frenzied Regeneration when the two mobs started attacking me). The whole fight took 40 seconds, and the 2 mobs despawned as soon as the boss was killed.

On a short note: Do yourself a favour and kill the first boss. That way, the prisoner will be released and will kill the guards on the bridge leading to the second boss. You cannot stealth past these nasty bridge guards, and if you aggro one they will all come...and kill you (I'm talking from bad experience :).

And yes, the boss dropped the roses.

Soloed Corla in Blackrock Caverns normal as prot warrior ilvl 397. Here is the tactics:
Start fighting boss, and stay on one beam. When evolution stacks reach 80, move away from beam. Nearly this time 2nd zealot will evolve and start hitting you hard, i popped Shield Wall for this moment. You have to kill him asap, and then again stand on beam for 1st add when your stack of evolution are gone. Continue nuking boss watching your stacks, moving away of the beam when they are 80 and coming back to the beam when they are gone. Thus far, 1st zealot have never evolved and I easily finished the boss. Good luck!

As of Pandaria, if you are level 90 and want to get this achievement while solo, I suggest the following:

1- Right click your toon's picture in the upper left corner of your screen and set your dungeon difficulty to normal 5 player mode.

2- Take a portal to Deepholm (If you are horde, there is a portal here).

3- Once in Deepholm, position yourself on the ground at this location.

4- Spin your toon so you are facing the temple of earth. Mount up on your flying mount and press the space bar to fly straight up, and keep flying straight up until you see the doorway in the temple, and fly straight in. You are now in The Stonecore.

5- To make it quick you should try to avoid a lot of trash. You should be able to avoid aggro'ing the second and third boss. I avoided the 3rd boss by staying to the far left as i slowly walked by him.

6- pwn the final boss in the instance- High Priestess Azil.

7- Loot.

8- Enjoy your achievement!

9- Set your dungeon difficulty back to whatever you want it set for.

10- Sign in to wowhead and uprate this post.

Just picked up bouquet of red roses from Drahga Shadowburner, 3rd boss in Grim Batol NORMAL 5-man (2/13/2013.) Easy solo as rogue if you just stealth to her, can't speak for other classes though I can't imagine it being that difficult.

Got this today going off the information in treeroy's comment, my advice for getting it is to go with Corla, Herald of Twilight in Blackrock Caverns with the dungeon set to normal difficulty. As long as you're lvl 90 it's super easy and takes no more than five minutes, there's just two things you have to keep in mind:

1. Don't skip the first boss killing him clears the bridge of those evolved dragon dudes who will murder your ass even at lvl 90.

2. You need two people, if you each stand in front of a beam until you've got ninety stacks and then step out she'll go down just as her adds are about to go dragon assuming you've both been doing steady dps.

There are probably other sources that you can solo if you have the right class and are geared up but getting the roses from Corla is both extremely fast and extremely easy even with a @#$%ty item level full of leveling greens. As opposed to say The Stonecore which I tried first, even at ninety and with two people the trash is brutal in there and you have to run basically the entire thing.

For those of you looking to solo all achievements for The Love Fool, I highly recommend against going into Stonecore for the bouquet of red roses. The mob pulls are ridiculous at times, even when you're trying to avoid major conflict. After starting out fairly well in the instance, I got my butt handed to me a few times from massive pulls before I decided to look for greener pastures.

After running Utgarde Keep a handful of times on Normal and Heroic and coming up dry (patch 5.4.2), I looked at the Wowhead guide and tried a handful of different Cata instances. Despite what the loot tables show, Utgarde Keep and other WoTLK instances no longer seem to drop the bouquet.

I finally had good luck in Blackrock Caverns as a lowly 89 Retadin with an iLvl. of 385. In BRC, mob pulls are usually only 3-4, with all of them going down pretty easily. The second boss you get to is the one who will drop the bouquet of red roses (Corla, Herald of Twighlight). This is a relatively easy fight to solo IF you clear all the wandering mobs in the general area first. Once her two servants evolve, keep Corla targeted and wail away on her until she's dead. The adds will disappear at that point.

Azil in Stonecore dropped it for me on the first time - Shadow Priest, ilevel 494. And I was talking on the phone the whole time, not really paying much attention. So it was pretty easy. You do have to be careful about mob pulls, but at that level, it's not hard to handle.

For those doing this in 2023 classic, I thought this might be easy to solo in Scholo based on the guide, but didn't get any drops after several runs. I went into UK normal with a friend and got one first try. Either we were SUPER lucky, or the guide and drop rate are not accurate and you are intended to get these from certain Northrend bosses.
Edit: went with another friend ad we got it on the first drop. Guessing it's either 100% or close to from at least UK (probably the other Northrend bosses mentioned)

Soloed this by farming Prince Keleseth in Utgarde Keep Normal on 229iLvL Rogue AssaBF (44/21/6) spec.

Killed prince 5 times, first 4 kills dropped red bouquet and fifth kill dropped ebon bouquet.

Seems to be guaranteed that at least one of the Bouquets drops on every kill. None of my kills dropped more than one bouquet.
