It's not really that hard to get Exalted with the Argent Dawn.
With doing all the quests (some of them even rewards 1000 rep, like the one in the Ashenvale dungeon). Then there's the turn ins from random drops if you have the trinket equiped. And there's turn ins at the cauldrons.
At level 70 it's not hard to get a party up for Scholo or Strat either.

Agent Dawn is much much easier to gain rep with then with the Wintersaber trainers, Cenarion Circle, Timbermaw Hold.

as a feral druid, i found scholomance a far faster grind

stealth to every boss, kill it, and move out nets a total of 11 corrupter scrourgestone plus a few invader's and 100 rep for killing ras

in stratholme you lose time because of the many detectors and the part before the baron, tough you do get a small chance on the mount

Though I think Stratholme would be quicker net gain/hour of reputation for me, as a warrior I'm utterly dissabled by the disease that reduces health generation by 100% for ten minutes. It's all over the first pulls inside both instances so solo stratholme isn't an option.

Never the less, at 70 without stealth you can walk directly to rattlegore with only a few pulls, walk through Ras' room with no interference and then kill the headmaster's study bosses and rinse/repeat.

Skip The Coven wing of the study, the first room on the right, the pulls become physically immune. If you pull these accidently and can't kill them (I believe the Sporegar shield works, damage shield talent from warriors does not) you can de-aggro by going to the room directly below it on the bottom floor and jumping in the water.

Incredibly easy & quick to do Baron runs as a level 80 ret pally, but I don't see why any other DPS class would find it any different. Will net you a decent amount of rep for time spent, plus gives you the incentive of Rivendares mount; I managed to get my runs down to about 15mins and I can't see how there can be any room for improvement.

Assuming you have the key, take the service entrance and head straight through the gate for Nerub'enkan; keep an eye on the Gargoyle's to avoid unnecessary pulls.

Kill & clear the Acolytes in the ziggurat then backtrack to Baroness Anastari and follow on round for Maleki the Pallid. Doing it this way avoids both a crowded area of mobs around the fountain and getting trapped in the gates where Plagued Rat's spawn on you, saving you some valuable time.

Head on towards the now opened gate & kill Magistrate Barthilas before heading in.

Your strategy will vary here depending on style & class, but Seal of Light & Divine Storm was more than enough to keep me alive whilst I aggroed all of the Patchworks before Ramstein.

To save extra time, be prepared to run straight in as the doors open for Ramstein, you will also not have to kill the skeletons that charge after he dies. Kill Baron, rinse & repeat!

I managed to get my runs down to about 15mins and I can't see how there can be any room for improvement.

My record is just under eight minutes from entry to downing baron (80 DK, solo). The only real advantages I have that you likely don't have are rocket boots and Army of the Dead, which together probably cut about three minutes off the time it takes me without them.

Not trying to brag, just stating what's doable.

Also if you're doing multiple runs, you can invite someone to a group and log out. When you log back in you'll be at the instance entrance, and the instance will be reset. Other than that your guide for running the instance quickly is top-notch.

Actually you can just right click your portrait in-game and select reset instances. No need for a group or logging out...

Under 5 minutes for a baron run is my record. I'm an 80 feral druid and it's so easy I don't even really pay attention to what I am doing anymore it's auto pilot. The mount dropped on the baron with my 9th run which was nice. Still I think there should be a better way of earning rep unless blizz really intended ppl to solo stratholme which I very much doubt.

For you 80's trying to grind out some achievement before Cataclysm (or after, if they leave it in--I don't know, I am not in the Beta), here is some rep math for you:

Assuming a Boss ONLY run (skipping trash, going for the Scourgestones and the 45m Baron Run):

Corruptor's Scourgestones (Baroness Anastari, Nerub'enkan, Maleki the Pallid, Magistrate Barthilas, Ramstein the Gorger, Baron Rivendare)
6 x 50 (Turn Ins) + 6 x 100 (Valor Token usage) = 300 + 600 = 900
4 x 50 (First Four Boss Kills) = 200
Baron Rivendare Kill = 100
45 minute Run = 300
3 x 15 (you must kill the mobs in the Ziggurats, they award 3 rep each, and there are 5 in each Ziggurat) = 45
5 x 10 (Five Blackguard Sentries spawn after Ramstein and before Baron) = 50

Total: 900 + 200 + 100 + 300 + 45 + 50 = 1595 Argent Dawn Rep for a fast, bosses only clear.

For me this can be done as a Prot Paladin in About 12 minutes. After each run I would run out and turn in my stuff, as well as sell any loot I picked up, this helped keep me from the instance cap--though, I did reach it once or twice. I had it down to 8 minutes with my Enhancement Shaman.

There are some variables, often you'll clip some trash and have to kill them, giving you a bit of extra rep, you might also encounter the Rare-Elite gargoyle Stonespine. There is another Scourgestone and extra rep. Note that Ramstein does NOT give rep when he is killed (at least, he did not for me and I am revered at the time of this post).

So to average out your runs, take the amount of rep left for you to reach Exalted, and divide that by 1595. Thats the number of Strat runs you must do.

Example: I am 8286 / 21000 Revered as of this post. So I have 21000 - 8286 = 12714 rep to go.
12714 divided by 1595 = 7.9711, and you round up, so I have 8 45m, boss killing Strat runs left to go before Exalted. Thats about an hour and a half's worth of work.

The fastest way to exalted now (post Shattering) is to pick up the quest Annals of the Silver Hand from Lord Raymond George (if you're a shaman, set your hearth at the Inn so you can Astral Recall back!).

Make your way through Stratholme and clear down towards The Crimson Throne and collect the book and make your way back to hand in.

Pick up the quest again and head back, you don't need to reset the instance to collect a new book. Will take 11 runs from revered to exalted.

Important things Iommie didn't mention is Argent Call: The Trial of the Crypt completion instantly grants you Revered with Argent Dawn plus more reputation based on your passive reputation gain (5%, 10% guild perks + human racial). Complete 9-11 repeatedable quests (also affected by reputation gain) = exalted. Also, the reason why you don't have to reset is the book is on a table, doesn't drop from a boss, but is unique.

Argent Dawn rep is a joke at 85 now.
From 0 to exalted, couldn't take you more than 3 hours tops.

To get rep for this faction in Cataclysm, you will need to do the Fiona questchain untill Boys Will Be Boys. After completing Argent Call: The Trial of the Crypt I got over 17k rep and went from 2.6k/3k friendly to 2.8k revered. Then you can do two repeatable quests:

Annals of the Silver Hand and Aberrations of Bone

Update! As of March 2011, there are only two dailies you can do to earn rep. After doing the Caravan quests that starts with Fiona at the WPL/EPL border, by the bridge, I found myself be just barely into revered with Argent Dawn.

The two dailies you can do, I wouldn't really call them dailies, is given by Lord Raymond George. He can be found just behind the inn at Light Hope's Chapel.

The first 'daily' you can do is called: Annals of the Silver Hand - this one is in Stratholme. A shortcut is to go through the main entrance, not the side entrance. Run in, grab a book, run out and turn it in. The reason I wouldn't call it a daily is because I did it over and over in the same day. Each time gave me 2200 reputation points.

As I haven't don't the Scholomance quest yet, I assume that the quest called Aberrations of Bone, is repeatable in the same day as well. Here you need to run in and kill Rattlegore.

I would guess that doing Strath over and over is faster, less flying distance, as I would guess that the trash to the bosses you need to kill to get your quests are about equal.

Both quests are repeatable multiple times a day. Completed this with my 53-54 Protection Tauren Pally.... leveled from 53 to 54 during the process.

*IMPORTANT NOTE - Set your hearth to Lights Hope and you can hearth back after each quest completion. I cycled between the two to allow the cooldown finish. Also, be sure to have the flight points and all their connecting fp's:

Thandorin River, Eastern Plaguelands - for Scholomance

Plaguewood Tower, Eastern Plaguelands - for Stratholme Main Entrance

Solo'd Scholomance rather easily.... you have to kill the first two guards at the first gate... then turn left and down the stairs.... you then kill this mob and head thru the gate to their right, turn left and go straight thru.... if you time it right, you wont have to fight anything at this level since lvl 53 wont draw aggro from the mobs there unless you get to close.... kill the annoying Plagued Hatchlings, first at the gate staying to the right you only have to kill 3 more then thru the gate at the end and down the stairs.... if you are careful, you only have to kill the Risen Construct just beyond the door and taunt, pull Rattlegore to you.... I was able to complete each run in 10 min.

Stratholme on the other hand is a bit tricky.... died a couple times, but if you are careful its doable and with the Righteous Orb drops and exp gains its worth it. If its to difficult, this can still be done just completing Aberrations of Bone quest.

To get the repeatable Argent Dawn quests:
To be able to do the quests Aberrations of Bone and Annals of the Silver Hand you must first complete the following quests that are initiated by Fiona who is standing at the bridge that connects the Eastern Plaguelands and Western Plaguelands.

Tarenar Sunstrike -> What I Do Best -> A Gift For Fiona
Gidwin Goldbraids -> Just Encased -> Greasing the Wheel

Once these two chains are completed, you can do Onward, to Light's Hope Chapel which will take you to 'Crown Guard Tower'. Once there you must complete Traveling Companions (he's at the top of the tower) and then complete his quest (Rough Roads) before being able to continue on to the next tower via the quest The Trek Continues. Once there, you can pick up the quest Boys Will Be Boys from Fiona. Go to 'Light's Hope Chapel' and complete the following quest line:

A Boyhood Dream -> Argent Call: The Trial of the Crypt

After completing the latter of these two quests, you will be set to revered (+0 reputation if you're already over 0/21000 revered) and Lord Raymond George will appear at the back of the chapel and will provide you with the two repeatable quests that give 2,000 Argent Dawn reputation per hand-in.

Best Grinding Method:
I have just got to exalted on my protection paladin and found something interesting (I was level 85 and used a flying mount to get around):

When doing both quests it took me just over 12 minutes to do, starting from standing in front of Lord Raymond George (the quest giver) and ending in front of him. However, if I only did Aberrations of Bone, it took me around 5 minutes 30 seconds to complete meaning it's actually quicker to spam Rattlegore kills than to try doing both.

The best way to complete Aberrations of Bone is once you've got to Scholomance, jump down from the 'bridge' and stay as close to the wall as you can (there's a little ledge in the pit below which you'll land on and it will greatly reduce the chance of pulling anything). Then run up the steps and over to the room with whelplings in; once in this room, jump down the hole on your left and then run over and kill Rattlegore. After that there's only really one way back to the entrance. It shaves off about 30 seconds or so taking this route to Rattlegore.

You have to pick up the quest each time. I forgot to reaccept the quest once and didn't figure it out til I got to the book-_-. Remember to pick up the quest every time!

If you are going for this achievement, you can also try your hand at farming the Stratholme-exclusive recipes. All of the following recipes are Bind on Equip (BoE) and so therefore could also be potentially found on the Auction House.
Dead Side:
Blacksmithing:

Plans: Hammer of the Titans - Maleki the Pallid (8% droprate).
Plans: Corruption – Contained 100% in the object Blacksmithing Plans. Requires that you be on quest “Weapons for War” AND that you be at least a 290 Blacksmith in order to loot.

Live Side:
Blacksmithing:

Plans: Heartseeker – Willey Hopebreaker (7% droprate).
Plans: Serenity – Contained 100% in the object Blacksmithing Plans. NO quest needed but you MUST be at least a 285 Blacksmith in order to loot.

Tailoring:

Pattern: Truefaith Vestments - Balnazzar (8% droprate).

Alchemy:

Recipe: Flask of Distilled Wisdom – Balnazzar (3% droprate). Can also be purchased upon reaching Exalted with Cenarion Expedition (TBC) from Fedryen Swiftspear.

Note: You can obtain the Bind on Pickup (BoP) Argent Dawn recipes without being Exalted and so without the need to enter Stratholme.

About the repeatable quest Aberrations of Bone:

In MoP the redesigned Scholomance makes it impossible to skip to Rattlegore. However at max level all bosses (2 of them) up to and including him will take around 3-4min (paladin mount speedbuff) at max level with fastest mount.

After that just HS to lights hope and logout a bit for the HS to reset. Then repeat.

Also you may save a run or two if you do this during the Darkmoon Festival due to the 10% rep buff from the carousell.
With this you get 2400rep per turnin.
