A reference to the lovably cheesy animated series Captain Planet.

For those not in the know, five teens would use special rings granted to them to fight those who would damage the planet- and when the villains would (inevitably) prove too powerful, they would combine the rings' powers to summon Captain Planet who would appear with the cry of "By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!" He would then use his deus ex machina abilities to overcome the obstacles.

The series had a six-year run and for a fair amount of time had some well-known actors (LeVar Burton, Kath Soucie, Frank Welker, Tim Curry). It was also one of the first children's shows to address HIV/AIDS.

Killing him with all 4 buffs active is pretty simple - interrupt the fire spell and either interrupt or dispel the heal. Activating the 4 buffs is also simple - just don't kill the priests surrounding him.

As far as I can tell it may be useful to have a second or 3rd person in order to kill him without any of the buffs - you must kill the priests in a very short amount of time in order to get rid of all the buffs. I was unable to kill the priests in time as a Disc priest, but was fine on the Guardian.

Guardian Tak'u is an elite sentry golem can be found at the Conqueror's Terrace on the Isle of Thunder. Has a weak autoattack and some easy specials. There are four priests around him trying to bind animal spirits into it (as a daily states). We can do this achievement anytime as the connected daily quests aren't required for it. The only requirement however is that your realm must have passed "Stage 2" as you cannot (legally) access the area before that.

To get this achievement you have to bypass both ways' toughnesses:
- No blessings: Kill Priests of Tak'u fast enough,
- All blessings: Handle all four blessings while killing Tak'u.

Killing with no blessings active:

This is a speed race
Adds have ~630K health each.
You have exactly 30 seconds to kill all four Priests around before Tak'u goes live killing the remaining priests and receive their blessings.
Priests aren't standing close enough to each other for regular AoE abilities.
Make sure to burn all your trinkets and stuff as soon as you start killing them!
If you're still unable to beat them in time then find and use Zandalari Potions around to receive an additional 25% damage buff.

For an info on how much DPS you should carry on to solo this part, here's some raw math: (630.306*4) / 30 = 84.040 damage per second. // You may take into account the downtimes like moving between mobs or initial DPS ascent (if any).

Killing with all four blessings:

Don't stand in any conspicuous stuff.
You should interrupt Fire of the Serpent casts.
His healing spell's cast cannot be interrupted but can be stunned, however it has no use because Tak'u will recast it continuously until success. It places a healing buff on the mob that restores 20% of his total health every 3 seconds for 12 sec. If you find yourself unable to overdps that buff you should dispel or spellsteal it.
As a warrior you can always use Glyph of Shield Slam to dispel.

If you are having trouble killing all 4 priests in time, pull a Zandalari Bloodguard over to the area. He puts down a blood bubble which increases your damage while standing in it. It helped me squeeze a bit more damage out and kill the priests just in time. Less beneficial to melee I suppose.

If you want to kill him without buffs easily. Just go get the Power Surge from the Shan'ze Electrocutioner ( When you kill them they spawn a spark and then you walk over it and get a stack buff).

This is the buff that u need for the achievement Speed Metal

It stack then time and when it is stacked 10 times u mount up and run to the mob and kill the priests in a few seconds since u do pewpew dps.

It has a fairly long duration at 10 stacks!

I soloed this with all 4 buffs active as a shadow priest. I pulled him into the corner which avoided a lot of his spells. I silenced him when he used his fire ability and used mass dispelled when he healed. He died quite fast.

I was unable to kill the 4 priests within 30 seconds at the start of the fight so a group is required until you have better gear that dps wont be an issue.

As a retri paladin I have problem soloing this with all 4 up. The healing is to much to overdps and can't spelsteal or dispel! Isn't it any scoll or something in the game that can give me a temporary dispel or do I have to find someone else who can do it for me?

I find it hard to solo with my gear, so that I dragged some guys after killing weekly summons, and found that those mobs have 1.59M health each during fight. It's still easier since we don't need tank or healer at all.

interestingly enough the killing him unbuffed is much harder then with buffs cause to remove all his buff you got to kill the trolls around him in a short period of time before he awakens and kills them himself what ever trolls still up are the buffs he will have on him to successfully do this part of the achievement you have to kill all 4 trolls in approximately 32 seconds each troll has 630k health that means you need to do approximately 79k dps neglecting travel time

edit: it seems the timer does not start until the first strike

This achievement can be soloed if you have a lot of DPS, if not you will need to bring a friend or two.

In order to do it with no blessings active you have to engage the adds channelling at him and kill them all before his energy bar is full. This requires quite a lot of DPS but once you've done this part killing the boss itself is a joke, tank and spank.

All blessings active means engaging the adds, but not killing them and let the boss energy rise until he reaches 100 energy, after that you kill the boss. He will now have extra abilities you need to watch out for, but it's fairly straight forward and shouldn't be too much of a problem for a well geared group.

You can easily track if any blessings are active by checking his buffs, since all the blessings are buffs.

Possible to solo as Retribution Paladin, 498 PVE gear. I used Divine Purpose for added burst (RNG).

No blessing active:
Easily done by popping all cooldowns, stacking 5 Holy Power and possibly a Divine Purpose proc. Then engage and kill priests by using ranged attacks while moving to them and finishers in melee (usually 1-2 TV would suffice). Never stopped moving for more than a second or two.

All 4 blessings active:
This was actually harder because you can't dispel the water healing ability, nor realistically outdamage it unless you have all cooldowns ready and popped right when the buff expires. It required a bit of luck for him to not cast two water spells in a row... When I got fire (interrupt at last second for more DPS time) and then wind before the water one (stunned here to prolong DPS time again) I barely killed it with cooldowns and Divine Purpose procs when the HoT effect began to tick again.

just soloed this on my rogue. the best way when going for the all 4 buffs active is to not interrupt his fire spell as it only hits for 250k and when he is casting the hydra skill you can stun him to give yourself an extra 10 sec to kill him off.

get 5 cp on one of the priests and when he moves use Slice n dice pop everything and go to town.

as for the non buffed form as assassination i used shadow blades at the start mut mut rupture for a 5 pt rupture and envenomed away any extra combo points and moved to the next priest same thing next prest same thing and on the last priest i used Vendetta and killed it about ~8 sec befor the boss moved so there is some leeway in there.

I completed this solo on my 505 ret pally and it really was quite simple once you know how the Buffs work. If you are going to try this, I recommend you first engage him a few times to get a sense of when he casts his buffs and what they do. Once you understand the pattern then you can plan the encounter accordingly. Of course, the higher your gear score the easier it will be as a good amount of dps is vital to make sure you down him when he only gets one opportunity to cast his healing buff.

After hitting the priests, I waited for the boss to go active and pulled him to a corner and dpsed him without blowing any of my CDs. By pulling him out of the middle you negate his Wind (Hawk) buff as the tornadoes he creates stay in the square in the middle. The Direhorn Buff is harmless, just step away from it when you see him cast it.

When he cast his Fire (Serpent) Buff I popped Divine Shield. I continued to dps him but watched his bar for him to cast his Hydra Buff (healing). This is the crucial point of this fight, interrupting Hydra. The moment he cast it, I interrupted him with Hammer of Justice (note: I had tried both Rebuke and Blinding Light, neither had worked). Not only does Hammer interrupt his cast but it also stuns him. At this point I blew all my CDs and downed him in about 10 seconds. Do not/not blow your CDs at the beginning save them for the end.

After several tries to get a sense of his casting pattern and which Interrupts work and doesn't work I noticed that he casts Hydra 3rd or 4th in his rotation, but be alert in case it shifts. Good Luck!

How I did it on my assassination rogue 500/505 ilvl:

No buffs:

Start on first priest. Ambush - Shadow Blades - SnD - Mut - Rupture - Mut - Envenom (priest is now dead or almost)
Shadowstep to next priest, pop a Virmen's Bite potion and do normal rotation. Kill #2.
Sprint to #3, pop Vendetta, rotation, dead.
(#1 will have died somewhere in here from poisons/rupture)
Run to #4 and killed it literally microseconds before Tak'u animated. It was so close that I was sure I failed, but when I saw no buffs on him, I knew it had worked.

All buffs:

Do as another poster suggested and grabbed 5CP off a priest and waited for him to become active. Started normal rotation; tornadoes are easy to avoid and don't hurt much, the worst thing is the electricity patches on the floor, they ticked for 62k on my rogue. The ground smash is also easy to avoid, and the fire of the serpent is easy to interrupt. I missed stuns on the hydra healing twice, but was able to dps through it enough that he never healed to full at least. I finally got a stun off in time to interrupt a heal, and was lucky enough that he decided not to cast it again in lieu of more tornadoes.

A lot of this was already mentioned, but meh..

solo'ed both parts of it with a rogue with ~500 ilvl

All blessings, thus killing no priest is pretty easy as you can simply burn him down and overdps the healing. If your dps is not enough you should stun him to buy some time. This should do the trick as he's quite low already when starting the healing cast. Remember to take ne of those Zandalari Potions as they're free and very helpful.

The No blessings part is easy with the buff Power Surge. Go get it from the mines, mount up and go right for the priests. There's enough time left to burn them down before they get killed by Tak'u.

The classes that can dispel the healing buff are:

Death Knights with Icy Touch when Glyph of Icy Touch is applied,
Warriors with Shield Slam when Glyph of Shield Slam is applied,
Warlocks with the Felhunter pet,
Shamans with Purge,
Priests with Dispel Magic,
Mages with Spellsteal, and
Hunters with Tranquilizing Shot.
Rogues, Paladins, Monks, and Druids cannot dispel as of patch 5.4.

However, as noted by jbhelfrich, you can come back after you have outgeared the content and solo kill the mob with no need to worry about mechanics.
