Admiral Daelin Proudmoore is the father of Jaina. Following the end of the third war he sailed to Kalimdor, in so doing he came upon the newly formed orcish nation in Durotar and, despite his daughter's wishes, waged war on the orcs, trolls and tauren of the horde. Eventually he was slain by the horde's champion Rexxar.

The death of his son Derek at the hands of orcs in the second war, as well as his own similar fate, has no doubt fed his thirst for revenge.
