I followed the road northwest leading into Feralas and saw the first Thundering Boulderkin at coordinates 12, 17. The Thundering Boulderkin are a generic rock elemental enemy. Venturing a little north east from that point I found a few of them wandering around at coordinates 11, 13. For me the drop rate of Purifying Earth was 100% so I was easily able to complete this quest.

Also, in that little area located at 11, 13 there happened to be a Gavrelsnout Surveyor so I killed him and picked up an Unrefined Ore Sample used in the quest A New Ore Sample.

Thundering Boulderkins can be found to the east at the borders of Shimmering Flats as well.

I found them at 13,27 and 13,25. Only had to kill 2 of them, 100% droprate. Level 29 mobs.

I found them at 63,56.
Its the mobs made of stone..

Found at 12,17 100% drop rate. Killed two and I was done. Another very easy quest.

Don't believe this quest line exists anymore. can't find the NPC to start it.

Right before you go to the Shimmering Flats , you may be able to find some rock looking enemies that float, those are what you need to kill. The drop rate for me was pretty good.

I found both Thundering Boulderkins just NW of the High Perch. There was a 100% drop rate.
A really easy quest.

Done this at lvl 25 as a mage..Not really hard and good exp.

This is possibly the easiest quest in the game. 2 kills of easy mobs and you are done.

For me the drop rate of Purifying Earth was 33%. 2 Purifying Earth of 6 Thundering Boulderkin.

What's a sin'dorei doing standing on the top of a windswept butte in Thousand Needles instead of the halls of Silvermoon?

It's simple. My brethren will no longer have me. Every copy of my treatise on natural cures for our magical addiction was burned.

I can safely pursue my research here, but I am without my reagents. If you'd be willing to gather purifying earth from the thundering boulderkin near the western end of the Needles and deliver it to my associate at Whitereach Post, I'd appreciate it.
