I was having issues getting the extra action button for this quest to work. Disabling Elvui seemed to have done the trick. So if you're having a similar issue, try turning off Elvui first (if you use it) or any other button modifying addon you might have.

This quest (and all the other tag-like quests) is insanely bugged currently on live, be very careful of getting too close to an edge or similar path where the terrain is not even, my whelp got stuck multiple times and in the end I had to simply re-do the quest because it couldn't move

Apparently Blizzard hasn't or they couldn't code an actual game of tag to work.

One try and it bugged out with the hatchling yelling at me about not knowing how to play. (If I wanted that kind of abuse, I'd just go run an LFR :/ ). I abandoned it, re-accepted with the same results.

Finally worked it out. click action button once when he is at the bottom of the steps and stay close to him and don't let him get into corners.

The hatchling tends to get stuck to one of the pillars if you're unlucky. Even when trying to carefully force it straight ahead it can still go to the sides and get stuck. Had to abandon the quest twice until I got it completed.

I found that if you line your character up in the direction you want the whelp to go and just slowly walk toward it, it will move in that direction for a bit. Rinse and repeat. No need to use the action button at all.

Just chase the whelpling like you did in the intro tag quest. no need to use the button. Stand right behind it and it will move in the opposite direction while calling you dumb.

Sometimes it gets stuck by stairs or pillars, just slide in between to unstick it and it will move and call you dumb again.

Just watch your angles your pointing the dragon toward when doing this quest. I pointed him toward a wall, and had to abandon the quest the first time. The second try was no problem. Use a zig-zag pattern.

If anyone is wondering, yes still bugged. Whelp runs to the bottom of the stairs and just sits there, wont move when i approach, extra action button doesnt work. yes i tried disabling ALL my addons and still nothing.

As a hunter, this quest was frustrating at first. It seemed the whelp was reacting to the angle of my pets rather than me. Dismissing my pets and then approaching the whelp allowed me to get it to fly in whatever direction *I* was facing. The quest was trivial after that.

Just a straight awful quest. Designer should be ashamed of themselves. Try and get ahead of the whelp and so "tag" it straight back to where you started. too bad we cant use it as a loot pinata
