A very simple and quick new quest in 4.1 on the chain of 20 dailies that will give you a whisker to turn in to receive the Frostsaber mount. It's a lot of fun to "raise" your mount from cub to riding-saber in a sort-of realistic fashion (more realistic than buying reins from a vendor, anyways).

Summon the Winterspring cub quest item, mount up, and fly to the sparkling mounds of snow on the ground. Smooth as silk, the cub should hop on it, mess around a bit, and you'll be notified that it has completed one of five hunting practices. Rinse, repeat, turn in to the cub, receive whisker.

This turns out to be a very easy daily, plus if your a skinner, your cub can get its hunting in while you kill a few cats and stock up the rugged leather you'll need to turn in thr preceeding quest for it. All and all, 320g, bunch of easy leather that'll sell, and a mount, well worth the 20 days of traveling to winterspreing. Plus there is a short cut to getting there now, take the Mount Hyjal portal in SW, once in MH, just fly north, Winterspring is just 15 seconds away.

in a funny sense it's even easier via druid, just port to druid base and fly over, bam ur near Winterspring rock, where the sabers are, close to the bears, and the snow patches for the cub, pretty easy at least.

The mounds can be found in the area of 52,25. And like the new, wimpy version of vampires, they sparkle in the sun.

Is this quest bugged? My cub keeps jumping on mounds.. but I get no updates... any Ideas?

Notes

Simply bring your cub close to one of the mounds. The cub will pounce on the mound, and the player will see the emote
Winterspring Cub pounces on the snow-covered hare burrow (View comments on that page for coordinates to some of the burrows I've found) If you don't have coordinates, most of the burrows are in the middle area between: Frostsaber Rock, The Hidden Grove, and Starfall Village.

While doing this at lvl 85, using a flying mount and having your cub out at the same time is a time-saving way to do it. Just running around at 100% speed over mounts makes it a bit less of a hassle to summon etc.

The cub can be out along with your mount IF, you do not fly.
If you keep your bird on the ground the cub will not unsummon.

I also believe you can use a ground mount, haven't tested it.
