These quests seems to be there for just a bit of cheap experience, as well as reuptation. Nothing all too special as far as i know.

This quest (and others like it) are imho to get you to change zones.

No, it gets you to Darkshire so you can pick up the flight path. That's the whole reason to go. Run down, fly back and when you are ready to do quests there you have a quicker way to get there.

It also gives you the first clues to the truth about Lady Prestor from the Onyxia Attunement Questline.

Neither is Lady Prestor. :)

Any quests that would've had you speak with her have been adjusted so that you speak with King Varian Wrynn.

As above - this quest chain, along with Dry Times, is to get you to explore the human zones, and gather flightpaths.
