New Site Feature: Sound Database and Playlists

Today the Wowhead team is excited to announce our new
sound database
! Head on over to
http://www.wowhead.com/sounds
to hear all the sounds for NPCs, spells, sound effects, zone music, and more!
We've also added new sounds to even more pages. Previously users were able to hear sound effects and zone music on their respective pages, but we've expanded our sound library today to include NPC gossip and all spells--from
player abilities
to
battle pets
! Click on the
Sounds
tab on any page to hear more.
Sounds also have their own pages and markup now. For example, you can go straight to a page to hear
your pathetic magic betrays you
, or for a change of pace, soothing
Vale of Eternal Blossom nature sounds
. (If a sound isn't showing up in a particular browser, please read
this
for more details.)
We were also sent the
SteelSeries Siberia v2 headset
while developing our sound database and used it to test out all the new features.

My Playlist
You can save your favorite sounds in
Playlists
now--come up with a set of all your favorite zone music to play as you're at work! Just click on the red "Add" button found on
Sound search results
,
Sound pages
, and other database pages with associated sounds, such as
zones
.
These selected sounds will then show up on your playlist, found at
http://www.wowhead.com/sound&playlist
, or at the top of the Sounds menu.
You can continue to add or remove sounds, and when listening via the playlist, the tracks will automatically play one after the other.
