Ultimate Tank Saving Macro: The Guide

How to save your tank a ton of health:
The best of the bestest ways, this one is based on the spell we healers rarely use:
The 1 Spell
The macro itselfs is something like this:
/cast Holy Shock
/cast Hand of Reckoning
/yell HEALERS AGGRO!
/flee
Its really full of usefulness as it insta-heals and immediately forces the mob to stop attack the tank and instead turn on you. But
you are prepared
and already running away as fast as possible!
Your tank is surely a smartass and will taunt the mob back, but until he does, he takes
zero damage
and you know you just saved a lot of his healt and also mana to other healers.
*IMPORTANT*
Remember, the "/flee" in the end of the macro wont cause you to flee, but will trigger a voice emote and order everyone to flee. So even if you wont flee, it will state that you should flee in case you forgot to flee. Flee then!

The author of the macro takes no responsibility for any raid wipes occuring after using this macro. However, any raid wipes occuring after using this macro are subject diminishing returns. Be asured that the more raid wipes you cause by using the macro, the more will be the chance that you wont cause any more raid wipes to your guild at all.

Whether that's because you don't get invited back or not is questionable ;)

Yea that's a great macro.
Especially since you'd want to be melleeing the boss if possible for SoW mana!
I guess it has its uses.
Otherwise it made me laugh, which im pretty much guessing was the intention of the thread.

NEVER, NEVER EVER RUN FROM TANK IF YOU HAVE AGGRO.
The safest spot in the battle is 5-6 yd behind a tank, unless there's "special mobs".
90% of the trash tanking there aren't any. And speaking of Paladin tanks, you're standing on the consecrated land, thus any threat you generate is mitigated by Consecration ticks.

Taunt is 35 yards now. FYI.
That was fixed quite a while ago.

It's not a matter of spell range.
If you're failed at managing your threat, give an apology to your tank and pull mob back to him/her for pick up.

The point of this macro IS TO GET AGGRO OFF THE TANK so that if he takes a huge hit and is about to die he gets a few seconds breathing room.
Yeah.
Really?:0
Hell, I suppose that with a propper management (watching raid aggro), you could just cast HoP on yourself after a second or two, thus getting the boss back to the tank.... oh my god, its gonna be viable in the end:D

I too love those low-level hunters pulling aggro of tanks and running away "because I cant shoot you noob". Luckily, this usualy means death in the end-game.

P.S. I pray to god you were trolling or mankind really is doomed.
Hrm...
AnrDaemon, let me set this straight for you: the OP's idea revolves around taunting the boss while at a safe distance away. Thus, the boss will run towards the healer, and the healer runs around like a nancy, avoiding getting hit. In that amount of time, the tank will then taunt it back, and basically no one will be getting hit for a few seconds. Ask any Mage for more details.
And for you, Ryu: AnrDaemon's point was that if you DO pull off of a tank in an encounter, you should never run away from the tank. If you run from the tank, and their taunt / Righteous Defense are resisted, then there's no way for them to generate threat and pick the baddies off of your poor ass.
Both pretty valid.

The whole idea has made me lawl, and ponder.

If every paladin healer hits Hand of Reckoning and Blessing of Protection every so often, it could well improve the DPS of the heroic or raid.
1) Healer hits HoR (doing minimal damage)
2) Tank hits HoR (taking boss aggro back and doing big damage off GCD)
3) Healer takes BoP if necessary to avoid regaining aggro after.
The only problem with the original macro in a heroic is that the healer won't have time to properly heal the tank - you're relying on other healers to top him up after the Holy Shock.

Come 3.3, targets will no longer become immune to taunts.

So now it's the healers' fault for pulling aggro.
Wow.
L2Play.
If I pull aggro healing I want an apology from the tank. If the mob is able to travel the 40 yards and hit me I want an apology from the tank and dps. If the mob kills me I want an apology from them and all their mothers as well.

Ohh just read that. I wonder if all of the bosses will eventually become immune to taunts?
Otherwise you could just take a bunch of taunting classes and play ring around the raid on a couple bosses.

There's a popular saying for MMO's and applies to WoW as well.
"If the tank dies, it's the healers fault. If the healer dies, it's the tanks fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault."
This is assuming the tank is competent though.
If anyone complains about me getting threat (I'm a healer), I will promptly put them in their place or remove them from my raid, depending on whether or not the person in question adapts a HHAHA I"M ALWAYS RITE UR WONG attitude.

What's even worse is that paladins has the lowest coefficient of threat to healing done.
With RF up we have a coefficient just short of 1 threat per healing done.
While leveling a paladin i was doing UK normal. I by mistake had RF up while healing and didn't think much of it. About 4 pulls in the tank asks me to take off RF because i'm pulling aggro.
Liek waddafaak?
