I only submitted one, and I'm kind of even glad it didn't make it 8)
It's a shame, that so many divided sentences and things like "gogogogogo" were chosen over pretty neat haikus, which people posted under the poll charts. However, the all of the winners deserved it, and I find all of their works great.
Voted for the paladin one here - I'm actually surprised it's not part of the top three 8)
The first one sure touches a nerve, but I still find number four more amusing and well-put.

Second off: Stop being incorrect, none of the haikus that made it to the contest disregarded the 3/5/3 or 5/7/5 rule. Not one.
First rule of the internet: if you must be pedantic, at least be right. ;) Two such entries made it into the contest (though only one made it out). One on day three was removed shortly after being posted, and a second on day five went on to win a beta key. (The latter used "bubbling" as three syllables and was the source of much debate, but dictionaries uniformly agree that the poem was short a syllable.)
The bubbling poem was perfectly legit. Remember, in the context that it was used, "bubbling" is a made up word meaning "to cast a paladin bubble on yourself", rather than describe something that is forming bubbles. So of course it wouldn't be in the dictionary. It's bub-ble-ing. Three syllables. I didn't particularly like the haiku, but it fit the rules.
Only one entry was short a syllable, and it was removed, as you said.

Eh he's just a rabid fanboy, best to ignore him entirely.
Edit: Oh wait, the guy who got a beta key is telling us all not to be sore losers.
Whatta guy.

All in all, I hope Malgayne took something away from this, and will either limit the number of entries a user can submit in the future so that IF he did in fact read through all of these entries as he claims, (Which I doubt) he might not have been so exhausted, and might have been able to pick a few that were worth a damn.
Or if they're just going to pick haiku at random, they should be up-front about it.
