Welcome to WowHead,
Araxom
! Glad you could stay a while and listen.... Er, wrong game. Whatever.
Now that you are here, can we expect to see Blizzard CS staff on other fan sites, even ones not owned by ZAM?
And the tough question: why is the seemingly default question/answer to WoW issues given by Blizzard staff "remove your addons"? I understand completely making sure the issues are native to the game and not addon introduced, but I'm asking about those issues that have no correlation to addons whatsoever because no addon can perform the issue? For example, game play glitches, missing or corrupt data/game files, etc. You know, the stuff that addon code has no access to alter.(##RESPBREAK##)12##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

Araxom mentioned this in one of his threads already, over at this
thread
. And I have personally seen issues that I thought were game related that were actually caused by an addon corrupting a data file. (Was one of those shaman totem bar addons back in the day.)

Hi Myrroddin!
Great questions! - I'll be as direct as possible without spilling too many secrets about our arcane and mysterious ways...
The possibilty exists that you might see me and/or other Blizzard representatives in the near future on other sites, but for now we're just dipping our toes into the water. A great number of Blizzardites participate in discrete ways across sites in their own personal endeavors, but for an actual flagged representative to post - there's a few things that have to be taken care of first. As you've noticed, this is very early on into my official participation and we're excited to see how it goes! So far, although I have not made grand introductions across the mulitple sites that I am participating on, I've received a lot of good feedback and I personally think it's a great way to reach out. :)
As for the 'tough question' as you call it, the 'Reset UI' instruction we send out is something of an infamous thing. As Lonewolfe points out, I've made mention of some of the reason previously - but to go into it with a little more clarity, much of the WoW community uses addons. They're fun, they're cool, they're neat... but they're not ours. Resetting the UI/removing the addons is generally the first step in troubleshooting because we have no way of addressing something that is only on your computer, and not ours. Your game client is a vessel that receives the information that we provide, and the addons modify what you see outside of our direct control.
Now, I'd be lying if I said I haven't ever seen a reset UI request from us go out when that was not the perfect solution, but in a good number of the general issues we get, I'd venture to guess it's a good step in the right direction.
Have a good one!

You'll also notice a few members of the community team on twitter, and reddit as well.
Check this out!

on reddit.
BlizzardCS
on facebook... and finally,
Blizzard Entertainment
on youtube. You'll find that there's a BlizzardCS channel there too; there's a wealth of information there.
(Note that I am not a representative of Blizzard Entertainment!)
