* Prayer of Healing: The percentage of spell power this spell gains in healing (per target) has been reduced from 80.7% to 52.6%.
* Talents
o Discipline
+ Penance: Cooldown increased to 12 seconds, up from 10 seconds.
o Holy
+ Inspiration: The buff from this ability now reduces the physical damage taken by the target by 3/7/10% instead of increasing the target's armor.
Replenishment: This buff now grants 1% of the target's maximum mana over 5 seconds instead of 0.25% per second. This applies to all 5 sources of Replenishment (Vampiric Touch, Judgements of the Wise, Hunting Party, Enduring Winter Frostbolts and Soul Leech).
Mana Regeneration: All items that provide "X mana per five seconds" have had the amount of mana they regenerate increased by approximately 25%.

* The heal from Glyph of Power Word: Shield can now cause Divine Aegis.
* Mana Burn: Fixed a bug where Mana Burn did not cause fear effects to break when the fear victim had an absorb shield on.

Were not. Mp5 yes, replenishment, no.
3.1 - 025% every second

Why not simply take regen out from the game entirely instead of nerfing it every patch?

10% of a 20,000 hit is nice mitigation combined with the % we get from renewed hope

think priests just out did more other when it came to aoe healing. I don't think its game changing for preists, opens the door for paladins again with there stupidly OP buff to Beacon

Just means they're going to get their MP5 Gear out of the bank and dust it off. No biggie. Any holy pally worth his/her salt knew this was coming and started stock piling 2 months ago.
I'm waiting to sell my Ulduar BOE Bracers out of my guild bank until after the patch hits. ;-) They should fetch a pretty penny. And I have 3 of them. :-)
Re: Penance CD increased... Honestly, I see this a lot like how our whole CoH CD went down. It'll go back and forth for a while longer, then it'll eventually settle to this.
I bet a rogue QQ'd that he couldn't DPS enough through the penance to kill his target in the arena. Effing arena screwing with my Raiding... Down with rogues! and warlocks... and everybody else who Blizzard is chummy with. :-)

tbh the PoH nerf bugs me... it hasn't ever been a great spell and now they're making it worse... great thinking. Besides - it's disc's main AOE heal - this wont hit holy that hard as we don't use it much, but disc will receive a heavy blow to their AOE healing.... not a blow they are able to take.
Anyway, it's not like any of this stuff will be the same by the time they introduce the patch. Remeber Power Word: Barrier?
Wait, what? PoH is my main spell, and because I can spam it like crazy my healing is through the roof. A few days ago we ran through naxx to gear some new apps and 3 healed saph. I had like 7600hps because PoH and the PoH glyph is over powered. Even in Ulduar it's just insane healing output.
Priests right now are fairly over powered aoe healers. I'm fine with the PoH nerf. Guess I'll go back to playing holy like it should instead of retard one button aoe healing. Refreshing PoM and keeping CoH on cooldown etc.
The change to inspiration is to balance the tanks out. Warriors and Paladins have way less armor than Dk's and druids, and difference was just becoming wider and wider as gear got better. We finally got a good dk tank, and healing him over our normal warrior tank is SO EASY comparably. On top of that, our warrior has 4pt8.5 and almost bis while the DK has only two pieces of Ulduar 25 loot.

What these changes for Discipline mean make me sad. :( My AoE healing was already fairly sucky (particularly without Power Infusion up), now though... ugh. WTB PW:Barrier now please? Maybe then I could hit that, Penance the tank, and then Flash Heal spam everyone else to a point where they're not gonna eat dirt? Maybe? Please?
And the Penance cooldown... why no just remove the glyph from the game then? Since Glyphed Penance post-3.2 is going to be almost on par with un-glyphed Penance now. Stupid.
Like someone up above said though, if the Inspiration change will stack with Renewed Hope... I think that's the one change I'm okay with (since most of my guild's tanks are Pallys and Warriors).
Ah well, at the very least maybe now I'll have a solid excuse to go raid as Shadow now. :3 Although, I don't think it's gonna be that easy. XD (I'm basically the main healer for my guild as of late, with a bunch of Holy Pallies and the occasional Resto Druid alongside me. :X )

The penance changes are a direct result of the resilience changes and (i suspect) the dev's desire to slow down pve damage.
How are penance changes slowing down PVE damage?
