This mount is going to utilise a white devilsaur skin on a raptor model - similarly to the TCG Savage Raptor which uses the orange/brown one.

A godsend if you missed the availability of Ivory Raptors and you'd love to have a white raptor mount. However, it's still unknown where do you get one of these and may remain hard to get (which would still be better than unattainable Ivory Raptors).

Reward from A Mountain of Giant Dinosaur Bones, turning in 9999 dinosaur bones from Isle of Giants. Great for Alliance players who want a raptor mount, or Horde who never got a Whistle of the Ivory Raptor (original unarmored vanilla mount).

Previous comment is incorrect as achievements are account wide. It was done by Drakmoon on Illidan with the help of Haterades of Magtheridon and Utofftark of Illidan with lots of guildies helping towards the end. It gave a Feat of Strength but NO server/world first achieve. He is awaiting a GM response about it. Posting Screen shot of him on it

A friend and I ground it out a few hours ago. We're both warlocks so we both used voidlords (the buffed voidwalker) as the dinosaurs do boatloads of damage to a clothie. Mostly we killed the little raptors as they seemed to be the most worth it to us going by health to bone drop ratio. The grind took roughly 10-12ish hours with only me looting the bones. We each did a range of anywhere from 70k DPS to 140k depending on CDs/how much we had to resummon, etc.

Bone drops are found by looking them up on the site, but I'll put them here too:
Primal Direhorn: 18-22, Hatchling: 7-9
Primal Devilsaur: 35-41, Young: 11-13
Pterrorwing Skyscreamer: 15-17

I did this as a group and we were able to farm up 3 people's 9999 in 3 days.

We did tank, healer, dps. We ran along the beach gathering the groups of 2 big direhorns and 3-4 smaller direhorns together and aoeing them down. While killing a primal devilsaur in a group of 3 is easy we found the tank vengeance and the multidotting from our moonkin brought our dps up across the board allowing for more efficiency. There are 5 groups of direhorns going west to east: White (Stephanie), Blue (Charlie), Tan (Rupert), Green (Dave), and Red (Stephen).

When you farm dinosaur bones you succumb to dino madness. We were naming the dinosaurs, talking dinosaur philosophy, killing dinosaurs on rocks so when they died they stuck straight up in the air. You name it.

Using this we were able to average around 10 bones a minute each. Keeping the bone distribution pretty even compared to some people getting the lucky 40 bone loot from Primal Devilsaurs and other people getting the crumby 13 bone loot from the baby devilsaurs. Assuming you can do it at this pace you're in for a 17 hour farm fest. I personally was the first one done and got my bone-white raptor before my Primal Egg hatched.

Warlocks! here is a decent farming guide

With this setup i have been able to farm all the dinosaurs except the Primal Devilsaurs
You can pull anyone of the other dinos and when your Voidlord gets low on health (10%) begin summoning him again
Do not use health funnel its a waste of time and dps. If you dont get your void resummoned before he dies just stun them and summon while moving away or use . Just keep this up and you can kill almost anything...

The Primal Direhorn Hatchlings Drops 7-9 bones - should not do enough to kill your Voidlord

The Primal Direhorns Drops 18-22 bones - will require you to resummon a few times... however if you watch their cast bar and move in when they use Trihorn Charge then move back out they will use it again keep them casting and your voidlord will last longer.

Young Primal Devilsaurs Drop 10-13 bones - can only stun these guys they only crush possibly(ive had it miss my voidlord) putting a stacking debuff on your voidlord just resummon if neccessary

Pterrorwing Skyscreamer 14-18 bones - only one mechanic also however try to time the need to resummon when they are casting Skycall

Primal Devilsaurs 36-44 bones - 2-3shot my voidlord too fast for a constant resummon plus too fast for his taunt to be of cd avoid unless in a group

Aside from the Zandalari Dinomancers who only give 1 bone and can easily be killed that should be all you can decently farm Solo

Edit: At the time of creating this i am ilvl 500, at 7326 bones, on my second primal egg and only did total of 10 hours play time farming(some of it in a group because if you get someone who has higher dps than you the farm time is less however for them its longer)

Considering what it takes to get this mount this thing should be far more impressive looking.... it is just a permanent version of Tiny from the TCG loot card Little Ivory Raptor Whistle that is full sized. I was just expecting a armored version like the Oondasta and Defiant Devilsaur but I guess that is to much to ask. Thanks Blizzard...

If you have a Frost Mage, you can solo Primal Direhorn pretty easily. Today I found out that Frostbolt does affect the movement speed of the dino. So just keep 3 stacks at all times, and kite him around. When he casts Trihorn Charge just Blink to the right or left just before his horny head gets you and you won't get hit. After a few kills you'll get the hang of it and you probably won't take any damage. I also suggest you use combined with Living Bomb or Nether Tempest. I usually take around 2 minutes to kill him, with 489 iLvl, food and flask. If you are a Tier 15 geared mage, this will be a walk in the park :)

Wow............after about 2-3 months of on & off bone farming, I got this achievement & mount yesterday. This takes MAJOR dedication. I'm only disappointed that for all the effort players put into gathering 9999 bones, the mount is only a ground mount. I wish it flew. That would've been awesome.

A friend of mine told me a method of bone farming where him & 4 of his guildies grouped up & killed the Primal Direhorn, Pterrorwing Skyscreamer & Primal Devilsaur to loot the most bones & killing the Young Primal Devilsaur & Primal Direhorn Hatchling in between for abt 3-4hrs while only ONE PERSON looted all the bones. Soon enough, that person had all 9999 bones to turn into Ku'ma <The Bone Collector> for the mount/achievement.

I used the same method but with just me & my bf & we killed everything but the Primal Devilsaur & he let me loot all the bones. I saw that this method works faster in getting you the 9999 bones needed, instead of taking turns on loot.

Group with ppl you trust & know will help you as you will help them & try that method w/only 1 person looting per farm session. *Sighhh,* I don't wanna go back there ever again but I have to, to help my bf get the bones/achievement. I guess 1 thing I can look forward to is getting quite a few Mote of Harmony & that God awfully cute Direhorn Runt (that drops off of Primal Direhorn & Primal Direhorn Hatchling.)

Good luck guys. Just thought i'd share my experience & that of a friends I thought was very proactive.

in the end all you have to do is wait till next expansion come back with OP gear and damage and just kill all the dinosaurs. though I hope everyone else doesn't get that idea as well, given the coming virtual realms.

As 521 ilvl retribution paladin, I collected around 500 bones in 1 hour, killing just hatchlings. This was my first farming day; I can expect 20 hours of solo kill those cute little dinos. Sounds horrible.

Of course, no extra loot so far (apart from some mote of harmonies, and one green item)

Anybody else kinda ticked about how many horde model mounts are being made available to alliance, while not as many alliance model mounts are being made available to horde? It's almost like horde mounts aren't truly unique anymore, there's even a scorpion available to other factions, i mean come on! Allies can now ride Kodos, hawkstriders, raptors, skeletal horses, and the once uniquely horde scorpion mount model =_='

Took me exactly 5 hours and 20 minutes to get the 10k bones needed for the mount. 544 item level prot paladin and I did this completely alone. I was just aoeing 6-8 dinosaurs at a time, including the larger ones. It was about 50-80 bones every 2 minutes or so

This is how i got ~1000 bones/hr

On the left side of the island is a pack of primal devilsaurs and some of the smaller ones (Outside the Bone cave), you can kite the small ones and the Pterrorwing Skyscreamer's up the ramp that leads to Oondasta. Take a small turn near the Alliance NPCS and go back down the ramp and repeat. This will usually keep you damage free.

Every 10 minutes i solo a primal devilsaur with Heroism and all my cds.

I'm 554 Elly sham in Resto gear.

EDIT: You can get the monkey diving helmet from Timeless isle and kite the Big ones in the water without taking any DMG :)

Don't be fooled! The icon may be identical to the "time-lost" favourite Whistle of the Ivory Raptor's model, but this mount is slightly different. It resembles the good ol' Devilsaur, nonetheless a favourite of vanilla players as it is endemic to Un'goro crater.

Farmed it as Warlock with a frost Mage in 2 different sessions from 3k to 6k bones then 6k to 10k. It was easy with a good steady path and clearing speed. The mount is beautiful and look amazing with a Troll char. Currently this raptor and his Primal Egg counterpart share a bug that devoid them of any sound when the space key is pressed and it's still haven been fixed by Blizzard.

As of 6.0.2 the giant dinosaur bones are no longer bind on pick up.

So you may now just buy the mount if you have the gold for 10000 of the bones.

I was on my Death Knight farming the 9999 bones you need for this blasted raptor, didn't take me nearly as long, but that could have been cause I didn't need to deal with others all that often.

Farming the 9999 took me around 6 hours all together, but from what I have seen here they have upped how many bones drop now a days.

From the small dinos I was getting anywhere from 6-12 and from the large ones I was getting upwards to 45 bones per kill, I was also doing this alone, with not so great of gear at lvl 100.

So I say, if you have the time, and don't mind going a little crazy, get your butts out there and kill everything you can find, just remember to free up as much bag space as you can, cause you'll be leaving that island with greens, blues, purples, pets, and junk.

6 hours of grinding at Isle of Giants + Giant Dinosaur Bone x 9,999 + redeem at Ku'ma = a beautiful Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor. With 110 level toon, it's pretty much doable now without losing your sanity. Get one and you won't regret.

My advice for doing this? Bring friends.

The bones aren't divided between party members - if a dinosaur drops 12 bones, each party member can loot 12 bones from that dinosaur. A guildie and I spent about two hours doing circuits of the island killing anything that moved, and since he already had the mount and pet, gave all the bones that dropped to me. Two hours later and I've got all 9999 bones

Couldn't hand them in since I wasn't 85 yet, but still...

As a 120 assassination rogue I banged this out in 2 hours (there was only 1-2 other people there also farming). Anyways I would just use my throwing dagger which did not do enough damage to kill them initially so it gave the mobs a second a to group before dieing to my poisons plus sprint and shadowstep also help.

2 hours is right for a 120 soloing this, without enemy faction competition at least. Takes 12 minutes per 999 stack if your insta-cast one shots them, for example Arcane Explosion for me. Remember 10 999 stacks is only 9,990 - obvious. This is a nice match for my hunter with blue-white raptor. White devilsaur is a very close match for this.

This is a recap of my experience farming for the Bone White Primal Raptor during BFA 8.3

120 Ele Shaman - every mob is a one shot with frost shock.
The larger the mob, the more bones it drops. Big T-rex's drop the most, sometimes 40 bones.
Put a macro on your bars to keep a counter of how many bones you have:

Started 10:45 with one other person on island. For the most part we stayed away from each other's farming paths. The island is just barely big enough for 2 people to be on it without interfering too much with each other.
I ignored the flying Pterrorwings for the most part, too much work to chase.
You can one shot Oondasta, who drops about 20 bones.
Bone #840 - got my first Primal Egg
Bone #6300 - got my second Primal Egg, but couldn't carry it (unique)
After getting my 2nd egg to drop but couldn't pick it up; it occured to me I should have split farming to a second and third toon, etc...after getting each egg. That way I can carry an additional egg on my account, but still mail all the bones to a single toon (since the bones are no longer account bound).
Switched to a second toon to start the farm again, got another egg immediately.
Switched to a third toon, got another egg after 1100 bones. I didn't feel like switching toons again but I got an additional egg drop at roughly 2500 and 3600 on my third toon.

All told I hit 9999 (across three toons) after 3 hours of farming.
This time includes swapping toons and flying them out there, and a little bit of down time for a snack.
Pretty leisurly. I was lucky in that I did not face any PvP.
Turn in cave is on the west side of the island /way 27.34 58.03

Did your friends leave you to rot on a dying realm? Perhaps you are trying to fill some void by farming old mounts? Well you are in luck!

If you have the island to yourself, you can get a full stack (999) in just under 10 minutes (that's on a 120 mage using instant casts and blinks). Once you land, pick a direction and make a full loop around the island. By the time you make it back to the beginning, mobs will start spawning again. New mount in under 2 hours? Not too shabby. (non-standard realm times and/or enabling pvp mode might help with getting the island to yourself)

Congrats, enjoy your new shiny raptor! And don't worry, this little guy will stick with you no matter what realm you end up on...

Found this on a YouTube video of easy mounts to farm. Took maybe a total of 3-4 hours on a low pop realm with very little competition just making rounds over the Isle. 9999 giant dinosaur bones later, achievement and mount are gotten
