This tabard and the other non-epic one will be added in patch 4.1. Either you will need exalted to buy it and are meant for twinks, either it will cost a hellova lot of gold.

Will bind on account status make it useful for twinks? Sure. But you're forgetting the most useful part. Say I am exalted, and switch guilds. Oh no, I'm neutral again.. but not to worry, I can get exalted once more in half the time.

Since guild rep is limited to ~3500 per week both this and the other blue tabard will most likely prove useless.
I mean, i can currently reach the rep cap in a day or two!

This is probably the same as all the other BoA items, and meant to help you gain guild rep more quickly on alts. Perhaps you have to get Honored/Revered in order to buy the Blue one, and then Exalted for this one.

One other theory is that the Blue one you can buy just based on reputation, while this version will require another guild achievement, which then provides everyone with an additional boost once the criteria is met, much like the Battle Standard of Coordination and Cloak of Coordination do now.

Blizz already stated that when a guild hits lvl23 the daily cap is removed. whichever guilds have more of these level faster. its an all out race to 25 that one fateful day =3

This wasnt such a hard thing to get. I will not be very happy if this tabard is one that you wear to make it easier to be Exalted with your Guild. As Cata only came out in December and its only March, so it went purdy fast I thought.

I actually come here to find out what perks there is for being Exalted with your Guild, havent found any as yet, maybe a Title, a Tabard, a Mount, or WHAT? LOL

I think this is a good idea especially for those that are still way behind in things cause Blizz moved too fast on new patches and expansions. I think that the rewarded rep for guilds that you get at any level are rediculiously low anyway and this will be a boost for those that don't play as often. Although I think that once you get friendly with your guild you should be able to purchase one or the other.

Join your character on a few guild 10 man instances and you will pretty much hit the weekly reputation cap in a single evening.

I would stress that this tabard can however be bought on your main, then given to your alt - who probably doesn't get played as much, or joins instances as much as your primary character.

Equip the tabard, do 10-25 daily quests, then mail the tabard to another alt. You'll be honored sooner, and can buy the recipes which you will probably want - or the mount after a longer period of time.

No word on the XP cap being increased, so it'll still just take as much time. Just less effort.

Does anyone on the PTR know if this will have stats on it that increase with level? Otherwise people are going to want to be overgeared for the content they're doing before wearing this if it has no stats.

I just got this and it exceeded my expectations. You get twice the reputation per quest, but the extra rep does not count against your weekly cap. This could be a bug, but I sure hope it stays like this. As is it effectively makes the weekly cap 7000 for the same amount of work as the typical 3500. Pretty awsome I think.

Costs 250G from guild vendor once Honored with your guild.

Changes the border on your regular guild tabard, making it more expansive. Fills out a bit more, makes your border more noticeable, in such a way that (I thought) really adds to your tabards look. Indeed, making it more 'epic'.

As the text plainly shows, binds to your Battle.net Account.

This tabard and Illustrious Guild Tabard both count towards the achievement Represent and the other tabard achievements.

~~The extra rep gained essentially doubles the rep you are able to get, as the 100% bonus does not count towards your weekly limit~~. Sadly this is no longer true. In patch 4.3 Blizz changed this so the extra rep you gain does now count toward your weekly limit.

You have to be honored to purchase this from the guild vendor, and the item is account-bound, so you can send it to alts that are not necessarily honored. However, if your main is not honored yet (i.e. new guild), you can purchase the Illustrious Guild Tabard at a reputation of friendly.

4.1 introduced two new tabards: Renowned Guild Tabard and Illustrious Guild Tabard (hereafter referred to as Purple and Blue, respectively). The Blue one is available at Friendly and increases guild rep gain by 50%, and the Purple one is available at Honored and increases guild rep gain by 100%.

These guild rep gains are not restricted by the cap; only the base reputation in the calculation hits the cap. The formula operates as follows:

T * (Base + Bonus)

with Bonus being the guild rep gain bonus and/or human racial bonus.

An example:

Quest is completed earning you 38 base reputation with your guild; that is the total applied against the cap. You have the 10% guild bonus, netting you 4 additional rep for 42 base + bonus. You are also wearing the blue tabard, so you gain 50%, or 21 reputation more, for a total of 63 reputation gained with the guild.

As a result of this, your effective guild rep cap for the week is:
No bonus: 5250 with the blue tabard and 7000 with the purple
10% bonus from guild or human racial: 5775/7700
20% bonus from guild and human racial: 6353/8470

Its not explicitly stated elsewhere, but this in a dynmaic item like normal Guild Tabards and will diplay your guild crest.
- You can keep it when leaving a guild and if you join another it will display that new gulids crest.

I think that this tabard is bugged currently. I completed 12 quests in Tol Barad while wearing this tabard and the floating combat text said I gained roughly 83 rep for each other them. But my reputation with the guild for this week shows as being 274/3500. Dividing 274 by 12 yields roughly 23 rep per quest which is even less than usual 42-43 per quest. Either the tabard is bugged or the guild UI is bugged. Either way this is confusing.

I can confirm, without a doubt, any comments above about the extra rep counting towards the reputation cap is not true. I earned over 7000 guild XP this week.

Interesting note is make sure you still have the buff up when earning guild rep. Certain activities such as the Maw of Iso'rath chain that forces "fake" deaths can remove it although you just need to re-equip to gain the buff.

I am amazed one is not allowed to be gaining reputation for his own guild such as you would do with the championing of a faction/city.... more badly spent, at least for me. such a let down....
I mean, I was running ZA and no rep for my guild - when i swithced to my IF tabard, here comes the rep gains: how irrational is that? why giving a guild tabard and say 'championing' if that does not happen....

I do not know if this is a bug or not and if it is going to be fixed later on, but as for the moment the extra guild reputation earned from this tabard does not count towards the weekly guild reputation cap.

For example if you complete a daily quest at level 85 with this tabard on, you will get ~97 rep. However the weekly guild reputation cap will only show that you have earned ~48 reputation.

In other words; with this on, you can earn double as much reputation each week - 7000 reputation.

I'm leveling with a friend. We have the same heirlooms and are in the same guild. I have a tabard on and he does not. I am gaining more experience per kill (not quite 5%). I took the tabard off and we went back to gaining the same amount of experience.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but there is extra experience gained from this tabard being equipped.

I know it's bugged in at least one way (you can't join a guild if you have it equipped or in your inventory), so this could be another.

Worth noting, you CAN actually buy it if you leave a guild.

I left my previous guild and realm-changed. After arrival on new realm, I still had my guild rep maxed (999/1000 exalted) and I just.. checked Guild Vendor. Guess what, the only items which I had available to buy were these two tabards. I bought them both (earning Thirty Tabards in the same time, yay^^) and I had been wearing Renowned one all the time until I joined new guild.

Now, my rep counter reset, obviously. But.. I didn't lose tabard.. I can still wear it (not sure whether I can equip and unequip it again), but I don't know yet if it actually increases your rep with a new guild.

It's probably not intended, but it would be good to know if it's caused by my changing realms etc and something is messed up, or it's that way for everyone. If any of you have unused alt or something in unused guild with friendly/honored rep, try to leave it and check Guild Vendor. I haven't found anything regarding that issue here, so I pointed it out.

The normal, non-adjusted guild rep cap is 3500.
Renowned Guild Tabard adds 100%, bringing this to 7000.
Mr. Popularity adds another 10%, raising the max available cap to 7700.

Assuming you cap out each week, in a worst case scenario, you will be gaining 3500. Best case scenario, you can get up to 7700 (8400 for humans..credit to Iroared) guild rep per week.

My main is in Guild A and I purchase the purple tabard. My alt is in Guild B. I send the tabard to my alt in Guild B. It works.

So, I suspect that once you are in a guild, the tabard will function as intended.

As a matter of fact, I have tested this and the bonus rep does not count against the weekly cap., so, it is very useful and does dramatically reduce the time required to get from honored to revered to exalted on your main and all guild rep leveling on any of your alts.

Theres a bug with this tabard, when you go into a portal you will lose the 'buff' of the 100% rep increase, you will have to unequip and re-equip the tabard to get it back, happened to me when going into the firelands portal, and turning in a daily quest only to notice it gave me normal guild rep :(

Why are people talking about cap, 7000 rep a week...
This is a Tabard which raise your rep gained by 100% (dailys to 85 rep per quest)
This Tabard will NOT raise your Guild Rep Cap (a week) from 4375 to 7000!

Im honored with the guild that is level 25 so i dont see any cap increased.
A GameMaster told me the same thing:

No, the weekly guild rep isnt changed, but it doesn't need to be as if you cap out by earning 3500 you've also earnt an extra 3500 on top of it that will be on your rep bar

The Renowned Guild Tabard binds to your battle.net account. When you have a toon that qualifies for this tabard you can through that toon buy Renowned Guild Tabards for all your toons of the same faction on the same realm and post them; thus they can all share in the same benefit. If you are a skinflint you can relay the one tabard around your toons using the mail.

For those that have multiple accounts merged into one battle.net account, there's some great news.

You can buy these for your alts! They can equip them and earn their benefit right away. So ONLY the person that buys it must be honored and not the receiver. Also note, that you can't trade this directly. So if you multi-box (like I love to do), then if you try and trade it, it will say "You cannot trade soulbound items". Simply mail it to them and they'll get it right away.

Also to note, you can even mail this to other factions as long as they're on your account.

just done a test with this tabard after achieving exhalted with the guild:

I was level 90, in Dread Wastes all these quests were level 90 quests so that they would all give the same XP & make it a fair test

You only lose the guild respect when you join another. I tested it myself. Meanwhile, even being guild-less, you will remain exalted with your former guild.

I suppose your guild could kick you inadvertently, and you could join back not losing anything. Anybody care to try?

Noticed something over the last week or so while doing dailies

Without the tabard equipped, getting about 137 guild rep for cooking/fishing dailies, but getting the same without it aswell, surely with it equipped, should be getting 274 guild rep per quest

As of 5.4.2, this tabard can be mailed to cross-realm alts (including alts of the opposite faction).

Thought I'd mention that this item is actually a decent way to transfer gold across alts, even cross faction. And as of 5.4, cross realm!

EDIT: Wait, why am I getting downvoted for this? If you created a new toon on a new server, these tabards are probably the cheapest and quickest way there is to get those Netherweave bags to start you off.

There is a bug atm that turns this tabard into the standard guild tabard. Well it doesnt actually change type, just the look. Just re-equip it and it will has its regular look again. :)

You're losing 187.50G every time you do it, but you can use this to transfer gold to characters on other servers in a more reliable fashion than battle pets.

Please note: reputation levels required to buy the BoA tabards (Illustrious Guild Tabard at Friendly, Renowned Guild Tabard at Honored) is not the reputation required to use them.

From the guild "faction" page (here), "Guild reputation is gained by:

Turning in quests. The more experience a quest gives, the more guild reputation you will get.
Killing PvE bosses in a guild group--requires 3 players in a 5-player dungeon, 8 players in a 10-player raid, or 20 players in a 25-player raid to count.
PvPing in a guild group--either Battlegrounds or Arena."

These work differently than other rep tabards in that regular kills in dungeons won't grant rep like they would with (example) Orgrimmar Tabard.

The BoA tabards (Illustrious / Renowned) display the guild crest with some embellishments from a standard/basic guild tabard.

A quick warning is that since Shadowlands was released, once you hit lvl 50 or 51 (not certain which), Pre-Shadowlands quests stop giving ANY guild reputation at all, making it more annoying as before you could put on this tabard and go through a number of quick old-content quests for reputation if speed was of the essence.

EDIT: You still get guild rep for BfA quests - it is just quests from Legion or earlier that stop giving rep. So you can still burn through some easy BfA quests with your character after getting some Shadowlands gear to speed the rep up.
