According to the item, this can be sold by inscription vendors with a sell price of 2s. MUCH cheaper than the dust for lvl 81-85 glyphs, so until cata hits changing glyphs will be much cheaper than it will be.

Also, the number might not be set in stone, so it is subject to change at any given moment.

For the moment, you can buy these from vendors, just ask a guard about Inscription trainers, the supplies will have a stack of 5 for 40 silver.
Since most people are exated with Kirin Tor, it's 32 silver Per 5 in Dalaran.
DO NOT BUY THESE OFF AH.

Purchasable from a vendor for 40s for a stack of 5. I don't know how scribes are supposed to make money in the next expansion, unless new darkmoon cards scale better or something :\

id like to thank the lazy or gullible fools who either didnt know or couldnt be bothered to go to the vendor to get these on my server....right after server restart from patching i bourght 450 and i stuck them all on the ah for 2g a peice as singles.....thinking at the time it might fool some people.....just logged back in this evening, sold the entire load of 450! what a profit markup! got there at the best time as the ah price is now down to 40s a pop but id like to thank whoever bourght them and I hope you werent to angry when you found the vendor :P

Once you learn a glyph, your character will always know it. However, you will have to buy Dust of Disappearance to re-glyph a slot.

The pre-level 80 version of this item can be bought for 40 silver (without faction discounts) per 5 (that is 8 silver per piece) from the Inscription Suppliers such as this guy, in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind, in the part facing the canals and the Stockade.

Ok, n00b comment of the day (look, I've been playing this game for less than a month), and maybe I missed a comment in this thread, but what can you use once your toon is past 80? Or do you just have to figure out what you want, pick by 80, and that's that? I wouldn't think so, as everything seems to change at least a little with each expansion.

Now wait a minute-no one has mentioned how you use this stuff and I sure can't figure it out. I'm a scribe and I wanted to replace a glyph. So I made one vanishing powder. OK great, you would think that the next step would be to go to the glyph book and apply the vanishing powder to the glyph you want to replace, right? No such luck.

When I got to the glyph book ALL THE GLYPHS HAD VANISHED ALONG WITH THE LIST THAT PREVIOUSLY APPEARED DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE. The only thing present in the glyph book is a small icon below where the list on the right should be telling me that I have one vanishing powder. I clicked on everything I could think of and even when I put the vanishing powder in the bank THE GLYPHS WOULD NOT RE-APPEAR!

Either this is a bug or I am missing something bigtime.

Can confirm the glitch with add-on interference. wanted to change a glyph on my mage and after buying the powder still wasn't allowed to remove the glyph i came here to see what i was doing wrong (thinking blizz changed something - hey they turned my hunter into a wimpy rogue with a gun now :) ).

i unloaded all my add-ons (love addon control panel) and i could remove the "bad" glyph

With the arrival of patch 7.0, this item is now the only way to remove glyph effects from spells.

NOTE
The physical glyph was consumed when you applied it to the corresponding spell in your spellbook.
Thus, you will have to buy the glyph again if you wish to re-apply it to the corresponding spell.

Trouble removing appearance glyphs? Me, too. I think it has to do with what form you were in when you applied it. I was fighting with removing the Sentinel glyph so I could use the Class flight form. I couldn't remove it from the flight form in Guardian spec. I switched to Feral, no glyph to remove. I switched back to Guardian and stayed in Bear form and there was able to remove the Sentinel glyph. Hope this helps and Good luck.

As of the time of this post, if you have the Grand Expedition Yak, the vendor will have this for purchase. No need to go to Dalaran or other inscription trainers.
