This trinket costs 1650 Valor Points.
You still get more mana from being out of combat than being in combat, so for pvp at least, if you head off to drink (I'd shadowmeld out of combat on my priest) and pop this before you start you could net a bit more mana. As someone above me said though, popping this in conjunction with mana tide on a resto shaman is pretty awesome.
Its like having a 2nd innervate
Judging by the name and icon of this item, it seems to be a reference to "A Clockwork Orange"
From the latest patch notes:
Mana Tide Totem: Summons a Mana Tide Totem with 10% of the caster's health at the feet of the caster for 12 sec. Party members within 40 yards of the totem gain 400% of the caster's Spirit (excluding short - duration Spirit bonuses).
This trinket just took a pretty substantial hit to it's effectiveness. It's still no doubt a solid trinket, but the loss of the ability to time it with Mana Tide makes it lose what was oh so special about it.
SQRT(INT)*Spirit*0.16725 = mp5 trough spirit
* 1926 * 0.16725 =
2088,095 mp5 when its up
So basically it returns
8352,38 mana on use
2088,095864 / (120/20) = an
effective 348,015977 mp5
In my guild, a average fight takes about 7 minutes, or 420 seconds. (420/5) * 348,015977 = roughly
29233 mana returned
Of course, this is not accurate for every priest because of the amount of intellect I started calculating with... heck, this isn't even accurate for myself because I won't hit it as soon as a fight starts, but once I'm like 5k mana down, so nothing is lost.
Now, when we bare in mind stuff like replenishment with the 321 int... This is a solid trinket for mp5 and throughput, definitely worth getting imo.
Hope this was worth something to someone somewhere ^^
For druids, the calculation is a little different than Aellre's.
After 4.0.6, I noticed the coefficients changed slightly. The new calculations are (backed up by the character screen,
The correct coefficient for combat mp5 is now 0.01387, meaning it's been downtuned slightly since my last attempt.
It has been downtuned again, the correct number is 0.013664 at the last update.
In my case, the trinket gives SQRT(4374) * 1926 * 0.013664 = 1750.418 mp5, so one proc is 7002 mana or 291.8 mp5 overall.
Is it better than trinket X? You decide, but at least you have the correct coëfficients now :)
This was last updated for 26/03/11.
Time this with either the Power Torrent +500Int or the new (post 4.0.6) Mandala Proc (+1926Int) and you get: SQRT(4342+500) * 1926 * 0.0140 = 2135 mp5 and SQRT(4342+1926) * 1926 * 0.0140 = 1876 mp5 respectively.
doesnt look to ripe
Priests: SQRT(INT)*Spirit*0.16725 = mp5 trough spirit
SQRT(4202) ~64,822835 * 1926 * 0.16725 = 2088,095 mp5 when its up
So basically it returns 8352,38 mana on use.
2088,095864 / (120/20) = an effective 348,015977 mp5 from spirit.
In my guild, a average fight takes about 7 minutes, or 420 seconds. (420/5) * 348,015977 = roughly 29233 mana returned.
Aellere's comment doesnt make sense.
You cannot calculate how much more MP5 you get with trinket when it is used if you dont compare how much mana regenation you have
trinket and how much when you use trinket.
I'm using following numbers to calculate MP5 gain. These values are from my character currently with BoK buff:
Mana regenation formula (
from EJ's forum
(0.001 + SPIRIT * sqrt(INTELLECT) * base_regen) * 5
Base regen for lvl 85 character is: 0.003345
The way you want to calculate how much more Core of Ripeness gives you mana regen is following:
Calculate how much mana regen you have without trinket proc from spirit:
(0.001 + 2105 * sqrt(5883) * 0.003345) * 5 = 2700.34 MP5 outside combat
for combat mana regen just halve the MP5 mana regen outside combat. 2700.34 / 2 =
Okay, so great, now I know I have
1350.17 MP5 mana regen in combat from spirit
with my current gear and BoK buff, then what?
Calculate how much mana regen you have when the trinket proc gives you spirit:
(0.001 + 4031 * sqrt(5883) * 0.003345) * 5 = 5171.05 MP5 outside combat
for combat mana regen: 5171.05 / 2 =
Calculate how much more MP5 you have compared to basic spirit mana regenation you have:
2585.525 MP5 - 1350.17 MP5 = 1235.355 MP5 more when the trinket is used
Okay, so now we know that when you click trinket (with following int/spirit values I have) you get 1235.355 MP5 more mana regenation in combat then without using the trinket.
With 1235.355 MP5 (extra) mana regenation and 20 sec duration it gives you 4941.42 extra mana on every 2min. Total MP5 in perfect case (using trinket on every 2 min) =
As holy priest I absolutely love this trinket
With 4042 intellect and 2566 spirit
Mandala if Stirring Patterns
and engineering synapse springs I get:
Without both procs : 3212 mp5 in combat
With procs : 7118 out of combat and 5900 in combat
Timing Mandala trinket and Core of Ripeness gives me rather insane amount of regeneration and spell power
Tear Of Blood HC
Without procs: 3503 mp5 out of combat and 3008 mp5 in combat
With procs: 7806mp5 out of combat and 6507 in combat
Basically its more than enough for my mana pool to drop at first to somewhere around 50-60% and jump to 100% after int procs end.
Amazing trinket which when timed with procs gives insane output
So i need some help... I use
for a second trink I have been working towards
but now that im realizing this trink here could be better.. im wonder how i should roll... thoughts?
Im a holy priest btw
Now that 4.2 has come, and this trinket cost JP, I guess the glorydays of Tsunami Card is gone.
Hi I'm a mage and I just wanted to know before I buy it, if I can wear 2 of these trinkets? Both the exact same kind. Can someone let me know please.
