Seems these don't have a 100% drop chance, so don't expect one from every 'worthwhile' kill you make.

As of February 9, they've hotfixed it so that you no longer can get Charms while in a vehicle. So the
Reclamation
,
Battle before the Citadel
, nor the
Dwarf

So take that off your lists too.

There are reports on the WOW forums that they are now randomly distributed while in a group, instead of going to the player who dealt the killing blow. Any healers or tanks able to confirm this?

I have noticed they do not drop off of any "Non-Lootable" mobs since maintinance fix went through. Tried several locations where the other conditions were met. So the avalance no longer drops them either. This is probably how they fixed the vehicle collection method since I was using the "shoot them up" quest to farm mine.

A good grinding spot for me was the catwalks to the north of ICC. I'm a prot warrior with a block rating set; assuming mobs don't have any spell damage. I can last forever against a huge group of them. I just gathered a bunch of them up and thunderclap/Shockwave/cleave em down.
Be careful. You have to make sure you get aggro on the mobs, as they're attacking each other. They might not follow you :(
Reminds me of farming on the Black Temple Terrace :D

From the way they designed the event, I'd say they didn't intended for anyone to
grind
for the Charms. Considering that all you have to do to get them to drop is keep the
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
in your bags, and kill "worthwhile" enemies, I think they intended for you to pick up the kit and go about your usual activities. They specifically excluded grey enemies because they didn't want the event to be a mindless, effortless, boring grind. It's just an extra bonus to your regular loot, not a separate activity to steal time away from whatever you normally do.
The drop rate, according to the
triggering aura
, is about 1 out of 3 kills. It could be a little higher, and then maybe people wouldn't worry so much about getting it done. Still, it really shouldn't take all that long, and doesn't take time away from anything else, unlike most of their other holiday activities.

so, after being able to get those from every mob that was in lvl range of expirience gains blizz decided to give those only for killing event mobs that spawn in 1 location. How brilliant! now we have a grindfest nightmare just like in F2P korean MMO's where 100 players try to farm one spot.
Great Job Blizz.

An excellent place to farm charms is in
the Fleshwerks
in
Icecrown
. There's a section with a group of mobs called either
Risen Soldiers
or
Summoned Soldiers
. These mobs only have about 4k health or less, are easily grouped up and AOE'd, and respawn very rapidly. I got all of my charm bracelets in a little under an hour as a disc priest running around and holy novaing and mind searing, so I imagine it would be even faster as actual DPS. On my server it seems like no one has discovered this place yet, as I didn't encounter a single person while farming. Good luck!

I found a very quick way to farm these little beauties. Doing the below method got me 120 in about 20 minutes - enough for the 12 bracer achievement.
Go to the Icecrown zone in Northrend and head over to Deathspeaker's Watch - just west of the Argent Tournament Grounds.
Locate a mob called Deathspeaker Kharos (
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=34808
) He is at the eastern edge of the Deathspeaker's Watch area, channeling energy from an orb in the sky.
Aggro Kharos, but DO NOT kill him. He will continually summon a mob with 101 health called a Death Shade (
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=35255
).
Kill these mobs as he spawns them and they will have about a 1 in 3 chance of dropping a Lovely Charm.
Notes: He will alternate between casting spells and summoning the Shade mobs. Sometimes he will summon 5 or 6 in quick succession. Just move around a whack-a-mole the mobs as they pop and you will rake in the Lovely Charms! Like I said, I got 120 of these in about 20 minutes.
Oh, and because this is a high traffic farming area, you may want to drag Kharos south a bit towards the small hills. If you stay there, you should be out of the way enough to avoid ganking and/or harassment.
Hope this helps!

For level 85's - as far as I can tell... so far today - the best place to farm these is right through the portal to Mount Hyjal. The lvl 78/80
Scalding Rock Elemental
that continuously respawn are super easy to kill and the charms still auto-spawn in your bags so you don't have to waste time looting. Took me less than 15 minutes to farm 30 charms on these mobs just now.
Oh and I checked the Dalaran mobs from last year they're all max lvl 75 and so do not award exp/honor so they will not award you a charm.

In Cata...
I'm farming them in twilight higlands.. And I guess it's perfect place for any range dps with dots. I'm druid and I just go to Verrall River (where you can complete those daily Qs - killing opposite fraction guards) and dot like 4-5 mobs and then just wrath/starfire them - mostly NPC will hold the agrro until 30% and then you'll kill the mob very easily. Just an advice - don't do it during day when there are many people around you trying to do their Qs.. They can get pretty p*ssed xD
And also don't do the same mistake as I did - you DON'T LOOT this item.. you create it sometimes as you kill a mob.. It'll be in your bag but you won't see it in loot window (uhm... I mean like when you kill a mob and you open it xD dunno how to say it)
hope it will be at least bit helpful for some of you and happy hunting.... and also.. don't forget hearts <3 <3 <3 ^^

and remember: you don't have to loot the mobs, the charms will appear in your inventory automatically ;)

The Fractured Front area in Deepholm (in between the Needlerock Slag and Stonehearth - upper levels of rocks) is a perfect area to farm these items. The amount of Stone Troggs up there is insane, and with my death knight I just Howling Blast a group, loot, move onto the next - simple enough case of rinse and repeat. You could end up with hundreds up there if you're up there long enough.
I was only up there a matter of 20 mins and already I had around 89 of these. Add a Potion of Treasure Finding to this... well - the possibilities are endless.

Although may not be the best solution to get the most charms in least time, I find that for those seeking the one with the least effort killing
Obsidian Whelps
maybe suitable. It's a level 84, with 19.3k hp, which for a level 85 should be a hit or two. The drop/receive rate is somewhat minuscule, but as I mentioned it's certainly effortless. Whelps are found inside a cave in the southern Twilight Highlands. Good luck.

I think there is some kind of cooldown in place. It seems that every pull (isolated combat) seems to net a maximum of 4 Lucky Charms. I (Protection Paladin) grouped up with a Healer (Shaman) and made huge pulls (20 to 40 mobs at once) of
but never got more than four of them. Smaller Pulls give about the same amount as huge ones in average.
It could also be possible that the spell has a cooldown (Probably 40 - 60 Seconds) and can only *used* 4 times while the cooldown is running.
So I suggest sticking to Stone Bats for farming as they mostly give 4 Charms at once for one person.

Another great place to farm charms is the converted heroes in icecrown. You can either kill them individually or in pulls of 7-9. I was getting 4-5 charms per pull. I'm an 85 arcane mage and had no problems killing these guys. And their spawn rate is great as well.
*Edit* After about 2 hous in Icecrown I decided to try Halls of Lightning and the Slags. Lots of fun, spawns mega quick and great drop rate on the charms. I def recommend HoL if you can solo it. If you can't, I'd say stay with the converted heroes

I've been farming Converted Heroes and it seems like mobs that are killed by Molten Armor damage does not count as a killing blow, thus not giving you the charm on kill. It probably works the same with other similar abilities. So if you are a mage and is working on the charms make sure you put on the other two armor instead of Molten Armor.

Northrend, Icecrown, the conflagration is easy for level 85 spriest. Just dot everything up, run around and let the shadowy apparitions do the rest. There are tons of mobs there, which you can collect greens, worthwhile junk for gold, and lots of frostweave cloth.

Currently soloing the slag now as a level 85 blood death knight, this is by far the easiest method if you can manage it.
My strat:
Enter the slag room and run to the back of the room, to the left or right of the stairs. Kill the unbound fire elemental and the first round of slags. Then use that space as your "home base". The unbound fire elementals do not respawn so it will always be safe there (I am posting this message while my character is standing there.) When you are ready for the next pull just run in a circle, pulling the mobs back into the corner. Lay down Death and Decay and spam blood boil. Use Deathstrike to heal your character up durring the fight. My total downtime is 0, any left over damage (at worst like 1 or 2k) is easily healed with runetap.
Drop rate is reasonable, anywhere from 3 to 9 charms a pull.
Spawn rate is HIGH.
Good luck.
EDIT:
A side note, I am a Human in a level 15 guild (alot of bonus faction rep gains) and i am getting about +5 rep per pull toward "The Alliance". I am wearing the tabard from Gnomeregan (faction reputation only reveered).

An excellent place to farm these is directly west of the Temple of Earth in Deepholm, just before Needlerock Slag. In this area are swarms of Stone Bats in the air and swarms of Jaspertip Swarmers on the ground. Both mobs have very low HP and can be one- or two-shot. The best is when you can pull a swarm of Bats down onto a group of Swarmers. If you have AoE, you will be stacking up the Charms in no time. :)

Kill the Risen Soldiers. They have ~3.7k HP and still con green at 85. They also have an instant repop where once you kill every last one 4-5 more spawn at the same time. Kill the floating guy too, the mobs he spawns aren't worth the delay in repop.
150 charms in ~10 minutes. Your mileage may vary depending on class/gear. (that is, you'll likely do better) I also seemed to get better results killing them one at a time rather than gathering all 5 and AoEing them, but that's probably just my superstition, they're one hit kills either way.

For yall posting who say omg its easy or omg its hard, could we please get classes on you? I know for a fact that while my Death Knight rocks the slags, my warlock gets rocked by them (I tried it)... It just helps when we know what kind of character you're playing.
Also, a sidenote, I tried farming bats on my rogue... pain in the @.... pulling them out of the air just sucks real bad, you're better off sticking with the jasper swarmers or trying your luck at the slags. A plus of chasing the slags is you can stealth to them with relative ease, avoiding the trash between the door and the mobs.

I came across one spot in Felwood, Talonbranch Glade (@63.21) where a scripted event (not phased) takes place.
worgen

goblins
.
You wont aggro anything unless you attack. You can stand at the road and target at least 6 mobs wo leaving your spot. They have a high spawn rate and there are many, many fights going on spread over a small area.
High drop rate, got 20 in 15 minutes with level50 char (25-30 kills). My only problem as a mage was running out of mana .. very fast :-)

Eternal Protector in Uldum (32,58) at the Ruins of Ammon are level 83 and only have 40k health... this is an awesome place to farm them. ~50 in 25mins.
PS: Might be "worthwhile" to usePotion of Treasure Finding while farming these.
I went to this location because it was recommend as a high drop area. As a hunter I also wanted to test theories I'd heard like: A) shooting from a distance has a lower drop rate than being in melee range. B) Damage done by you increases drop rate. C) Kill shot increases drop rate.
When I first got to this area i was getting 1 charm for every 10 kills. That's shooting from a distance while my pet tanks and not taking kill shot into consideration. When I moved into melee range the drops increased to about 4 in 10. And when I made sure I was getting the kill shot, not my pet, I almost got 1 charm per kill.
I tested this for about 15 mins (got 17 charms) then I decided to try my
potion of treasure finding
. After drinking the potion for the next 15 mins I got a total of 2 charms and 1 treasure chest. Maybe just a coincidence or maybe the potion doesn't work for charms. I am an 85 hunter and this zone is 83. Might explain the lower drop rate for me.
Dismissing my pet and doing all the damage solo made no difference at all.

In Patch 4.03
Halls of Lightning- The Trash ''Non-elite'' Elementals called ''Slag'', just before the Boss Volkhan. All you need to do is gather them up and aoe and you will get Lovely Charm. Then, wait 10 seconds til they spawn and just repeat by killing them. No need of going out and reseting like you do in Halls of Stone. This is much faster and easier for most classes to farm.

(Just remember you won't get a charm from every single kill).

Pet classes can "farm" this afk. Go to HoL normal, fight or stealth your way to the slag room, set your pet to defensive and enjoy! :)
I run this as a BM hunter with spirit beast which provides a self heal. Any classes with a little surviability or auto self-heals shouldn't ever need to worry about dieing. I found the best spot to stand close to the structure in the center between two spawn points. Clear the whole room once, then you should see the four of them.

Remember the Jaspertip Swarmers in Deepholm that drop tons of Embersilk? Well, they don't anymore. But those pat'ing groups of swarmers and bats can award charms. I just stand at 35.5, 62.1 in Deepholm and the groups just run by and aggro into me. 1 Blast Wave, 1 Flame Strike, 1 Arcane Explosion, let the DoT finish them off. The groups of bats that fly around die even faster and also award charms, so watch for those.
Lots less running around than all other spots I've seen suggested here. Just stand there, and let the charms come to you. The only mobs I really had to "go after" were the Stone Bats. Like a whole 3-4 steps or something... In the meantime, I'm texting on my phone, reading my e-mails, etc, and dropping 2-3 aoes every 45 seconds or so to yield 3-6 charms or so. I didn't really time it, but I've been there for barely more than an hour and have over 200 charms.
Happy farming!

The patrolling groups of bugs in the Stonecore drop LOADS of these. I got at least 3 from each pack, and that's one or two aoe spells for a mage.

As a balance druid I've found it very easy to farm these in Icecrown. I'm in the Broken Front, just south of Mord'rethar: The Death Gate. The mobs here spawn almost as soon as they are killed and are very close and numerous.
As a balance druid I can just DoT them up with Moonfire/Sunfire and within two ticks they mob dies. Starfall and Hurricane also work very well here.
I imagine a shaman using chain lightning would also be effective in this area.
Been here for maybe 30 minutes and am on my way to completing my 9th necklace.

By far the best way to farm these is
step 1. Make bloodelf warlock
step 2. Get to lvl 5
step 3. go to town and stop exp gain and pick up cellectors kit (must stop exp gain cos at lvl 6 they turn gray and no longer drop charms)
step 4. load up on heirlooms
step 5. hs back to starter zone and kill mana wyrms using corruption spell
step 6. WIN!
they will spawn faster than u can kill guaranteed to be fastest way to get charms. its nice to be able to stop killing for 10 secs and watching hp regen super fast cos low lvl

Level 80-85 strat:
Go to Deepholm,
Find the Fungal Behemoths:
Fungal Behemoth
Aggro two or more at a time, but do not kill them
They will cast Shroom Stomp:
Shroom Stomp
and create Unstable Shrooms:
Unstable Shroom
Which you AoE and proc the chance to get the Lovely Charms
As a warrior I just used thunderclap every time they casted multiple ones and would then victory rush or single target the ones remaining as needed.

Go to "Aldu'thar" (is located up north) and get inside that big building. Your friend takes the left hand side and u take the right hand side. You leave the group to increase ur chance of getting the lovely charms.
Both of u kill the cult researchers in there:"

As a lvl 85 prot warrior (ilvl393) I went to the
Fractured Front
(between Stonehearth and Needlerock Slag) in
Deepholme
where the troggs and the dwarves are hurting each other. I massacred the troggs. Literally. Charging in a grp, rend, TC, intercept the other, rend, TC, Leap the next group, rend, TC = profit.
The troggs has a strange agro table so make sure you dmg them directly with TC and rend (or anything u got). Otherwise they wont agro you, therefore they will stay in place while you running around gathering the mobs. Also there are some casters so I found gathering 2-3 groups is the best. Every class should be able to aoe nuke the troggs in decent gear and moderate self heal (although self-heal is only for avoiding downtimes).
I collected 70 charms in 10 minutes

Those that say you can't get a Lovely Charm while collecting Grisly Trophies are wrong!
You can't get 'm at the same time from one mob, but farming the lvl 80's in icecrown is giving me lovely charms and grisly trophy's in turn.
So you're perfectly able to do both and don't have to complete testing your strenght first.

Two great ways to farm these.
1: Go to Icecrown and bounce between the two 80 elites Rokir and Baelok, killing all of the level 80 death knight initiates and adepts - unless someone else is farming there as well you'll never have to wait on respawn. If you're having trouble burning through these and mobs are respawning before you're finished on the miniboss I recommend simply staying at Baelok, he has less annoying abilities.
2. Fractured Front in Deepholm, many of the mobs are already quite injured and you can, depending on your class, rake in a ton of charms very quickly. This area is recommended for classes that are able to put on a +threat ability because otherwise mobs are unlikely to break away and chase you, hindering your ability to mount up should you need to. (recommended by MajinDLX)
3. One more place if you're after charms and embersilk is the little path connecting wetlands and twilight highlands, if you're up to the quest in the twilight highlands chain in which twilight cultists are defending the wagon you can get a large amount of both fairly quickly as the npc's will help you.

The Molten Front daily "Enduring the Heat" can give you Lovely Charms, but the drop rate seems as low as elsewhere. I stepped into a rune to protect myself from the enemies, typed out a comment, went back and killed about 8 elementals simultaneously and only received one Charm. I got about six doing that daily.

Went farming in the area just south of the "Needlerock Slag" label on the Deepholm map, with the DM Faire collection book in my bags and 0 trophies collected. By the time I hit 200 trophies, I had 96 Lovely Charms as well. Those posts saying you can't collect both the charms and the Grisly Trophies at the same time are flat wrong.
EDIT: After collecting my 250th Grisly Trophy, the drop rate on the charms did not increase at all, but remained rather low, around 1-in-4 I'd say. Based on this I think I'd even go so far as to say that the drop of a charm overrides the drop of a trophy, as the trophy seems to be a guaranteed drop on every solo kill, whereas the charm is the non-guaranteed drop, but manages to find it's way into your bags consistently amid the constant flow of trophies.

Halls of Lightning (regular) is still a great place to farm these as of 2/4/12 - clear up to the Iron Crucible and just continuously AoE the slags there.
Went in as a marginally geared demo lock - just ran around hellfiring. Cleared once, Soul Harvested, and the whole room respawned by the time I was back at full. Far more efficient than converted heroes in Icecrown, as you won't have any competition and the spawn is instant.
Edit: they hit for about 400 on cloth.
Additional edit: this method seems to average about 4-6 charms per circle. With one circle taking approximately 1 minute including heal time, and allowing for some additional downtime, it seems one could farm anywhere from 200-300 charms per hour.

Best way to farm this is , is to grind the
Slag
in
Halls of Lightning
They have a respawn around 10 second and all you have to do is to clear the area and wait 10 seconds for them to respawn. Remember not to kill the Elites in the corner, as that might stop the respawning, since iam not sure of that, best thing to do is to let the elites be left alone and just focus on the
Slag
. Happy grinding folks.
Edit- Each spawn gaved me around 7-8 charms.
2012-02-06 / Sorraxe. Happy grinding folks.

if your a protection warrior, you can farm 15 on average every 2 minutes in deepholm, dedicate an hour to this and you have 450 on your hands
now if your interested in getting the mount day 1, think the max you could have as of right now just from dailies is 60 + the 10-20 from the random
leaving you with about 200 to go, or 2,000 charms, which pretty much means 5 hours of grinding
again, seems only feasible as a prot warrior or DK

Today I farmed for both the Lovely Charms and the Grisly Trophys on 2 different toons. Both toons had both the Lovely Charms Collector’s Kit AND the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide (= Grisly Trophy kit) in their inventory at the same time.
With my level 19 warrior I farmed green (level 15-17) mobs in Redridge Mountains, and these mobs dropped both Lovely Charms and Grisly Trophys, sometimes even from the same mob/kill. When I stopped farming on my lvl 19 warrior, I had collected about 50-60 Lovely Charms and 80 Grisly Trophys.
After that, I logged on my lvl 85 druid and went to Mount Hyjal where I started farming some green (level 80) elementals. They did only drop Grisly Trophys for me, and not a single Lovely Charm. After a while I started killing some other green (level 80) humanoid mobs, same result, lots of Grisly Trophys but no Lovely Charms. Then I began doing the Molten Front dailies killing lvl 85 mobs, but still no Lovely Charms dropping only Grisly Trophys. At this point I had farmed 76 Grisly Trophys, and not a single Lovely Charm had dropped.
As an experiment, I then took my Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide (the Grisly Trophy Kit) and put it into my Bank so that it no longer was in my inventory, and from that moment on the mobs started dropping Lovely Charms like a charm so to speak...
It seems to me that Grisly Trophys and Lovely Charms sometimes can be farmed at the same time. But at other times / on other toons / at other levels / in other zones it is only possible to farm one of them at a time. So it seems to be a bit bugged.
So: If the Lovely Charms won’t drop for you and you have the Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide in your bags try put it in your bank as long as you are farming Lovely Charms (you don’t need to quit the Darkmoon quest). It might help.

You have to kill first boss, some trash and go back to where the little water elementals are (passage just before last boss). They respawn almost instantly, they are easily AOEd and you do not have to fight over mobs with other players. Alright, I believe I have found a good spot.
For those who are willing to work their way to it, in Normal Throne of Tides, after the first two bosses, the little elementals, Unstable Corruption, that spawn there are very rapid. I was able to farm 200+ charms in 20minutes. 700 in 1 hour.
However, DO NOT kill the last two large elementals at the gate to the last boss. These things spawn so fast.
However, don't leave the instance if you're by yourself. Everything respawns. Doh!

Another quick way to farm lovely charms @ 85.
Head to Halls of Lightning and enter. Head towards first boss (Volkhan). Just before him there's a crucible with 15 lvl 79 slags. Gather them up and aoe down, then stand on one side of the middle pillar and 8 of the slags will auto-aggro you when they spawn, then run around and gather the other 7.
Rinse and repeat, the slags have 30 sec respawn time, and takes about 10 secs to gather and 5 secs to aoe, giving you somewhere between 0 and 15 charms every 45 seconds.

A reminder for those farming the
Lovely Charm
to make
Lovely Charm Bracelet
. The
Lovely Charm
stacks in lots of 40 and it takes 10 x
Lovely Charm
to make one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
. You can hold as many stacks of
Lovely Charm
as your inventory can hold. However
Lovely Charm Bracelet
do not stack. So its best to hold off combining the
Lovely Charm
's till you are ready to buy the
Love Token
which stacks in 250.
It may be more efficient to combine farming the
Lovely Charm
with doing the event dailies. As an example doing the
A Gift for the Emissary of Stormwind
and the other three city bosses for your faction will garner you 5 x
Love Token
for one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
. This is opposed to using one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
to buy only one
Love Token
from the holiday vendors.

I found that you can farm a ton of these very fast in Icecrown. It at Malykriss: The Vile Hold (doesn't show up on map). If you're facing ICC, there's a a Necropolis that's being created off to the left. North east of it and south west of it there are 2 groups of Death Knight Adepts and Death Knight Initiates. They respawn pretty fast and if you've got the AoE you can kill them all pretty fast.

Just now confirmed, the bats and tiny flayers in Deepholm do drop these!
Even better, you can take the flayers attacking the Son's of Kor and get credit for them when they die from the Son's AOE. It may be a little more tedious than the Slags in HOL but at least you won't be waddling everywhere when you farm. I do enough waddling as a mut rogue.

Taking the advice from other posts here, I will agree that the slags in Lightning Halls on normal are indeed the way to go. I found that after an initial clear, standing either to the left or right of the forge in the center (after you first enter the room) gives you a vantage point to hit three spawn points.
The spawn points, when you are facing the forge from the entrance and the exit, spawn more slags than the left and right points. The spawn point near the entrance also seems to spawn twice as many slags as the one near the exit. I had around 8-10 spawns at a time which, at 85, go down very fast with little or no damage to myself. Spawn rates are near instant, sometimes only a few seconds of waiting and there were times I was actually getting insta-spawns and had to catch up.
I didn't keep track of time, but I would say in about 45 mins, I got about 90 charms. I would have stayed longer, but I was getting hungry :P
*edit 'cause grammar fails me...

For those who are lower than 85 (my alt was lvl 54 when doing this quest) and need advice for gaining Lovely Charms, you will get the Charms from killing any mob that is yellow or above (gives exp). I recommend joining a random dungeon that is for your level range to gain the most Charms in a short amount of time. In one instance (Blackrock), I had enough charms for 3 necklaces, and 6 extra.
They drop from any of the mobs, elementals, humanoids, anything. However, they do not drop 100% of the time, so don't expect every kill to yield a Charm.

Alright. For those of you that are 85 and comfortable with your abilities, I have the perfect place for you to farm these pesky suckers for big gains.
Deepholm. Shuddering Spires. If you quested in Deepholm for the Therazane rep, it's the area where Kor the Immovable is "entrenched".
Your Targets
Jaspertip Swarmer
Stone Bat
The Stone Bats fly around the area in tight-knit groups. Usually 7-8, possibly more. One bat will usually be a few yards ahead of the "group", as if it's leading them. They enjoy flying some distance off the ground, so if you have any ranged abilities, it may be a pain to line up a shot jut right to aggro them down. Hitting/killing even a single one causes the whole swarm to fly down to you. In my case, as a rogue, I flew over them, dismounted, and Fan of Knives mid-air.
The Jaspertip Swarmers run around in groups. There are less of them in these groups than there are of the Stone Bats, about 3-5. These adds will lunge at any
Son of Kor
they pat near, so get them before they get too close to them.
Both adds are a breeze for an average 85. I found farming them yielded much more than the Converted Heroes in Icecrown, due to the fact that so many people already camp the Heroes and I was alone in my killing of the bats & swarmers. If the Super Bowl weren't on tonight, I would of farmed all the
Lovely Charm Bracelet
s I needed to trade in to get enough
Love Fool
s for
I Pitied The Fool
, but oh well.
Happy Farming,
Emevoli of Bladefist

If you are a permanent pet class, Halls of Lightning is the place to farm when you sleep!
Go to the entrance to the room where the Slags are and stand just inside the entrance so you only aggro the 2-3 nearest Slags, the trick is that the Slags your pet kills
does
give you Lovely Charms without you having to deal any damage to the mobs, thus if you find the correct distance where you and your pet don't get overwhelmed by mobs, you can actually go to sleep and farm these Charms - or rather, you can watch tv or the like and only get back once in a while to get you out of AFK state to avoid getting disconnected eventually.

Maybe it's just me, but they seem to have a much lower drop-rate this year. I've already finished my ordeal with the Darkmoon Fair's grisly trophies, but the lovely charms barely drop. I've just spent half an hour farming yellow-level mobs, and I have two charms to show for my efforts. It seems that they only drop off of maybe 1 in 15-20 mobs. Is anybody else finding this to be true?

Aldur'thar: The Desolation Gate. Midle of northern Icecrown. This spot is the best I've seen so far, for no extra clearing of instances. I haven't tried farming the little elementals in Throne of the Tides, I assume it's pretty good. At Aldur'thar the respawn time is "instant." There are ALWAYS mobs up, you won't ever have to stop and wait. I recieved 80 charms in 20 minutes doing this, it's a bit more involved and you have to walk around a bit, but as a Prot Paladin with not a ton of ranged, and the inability to one-shot (for the most part) from ranged, I was still getting 80 charms/20 mins. It was simple enough, it's mostly single-target.

Single greatest farming spot. Ever. For any reason. Always. Aldur'thar, the Desolation gate. Up top, outside of the temple, where the Shadow Channelers are. There's a few patrols, an overlord, and a couple of the channelers. The mobs spawns are locked so there will NEVER be less than 2. They're all very close by each other and it makes life very easy. I farmed up two dozen of the BRACELETS in less than an hour of murder.
This works for 85s as well.

Another trick I just learned involves a little time spent in Molten Front. If you have Forlorn Spire opened, and plan to do the MF dailies, why not bring your
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
along. Pick up the quest,
Enduring the Heat
, enter the cave, and stand on a rune. Let a few
Unstable Flamerager
spawn and start attacking you. Don't worry; standing on the rune gives you a buff that drastically reduces the damage you receive (I took about 60 damage per hit in cloth). They die on their own in about 30 seconds, so you probably won't be able to get more than 6 of these guys on you at a time. I usually got 2-3 charms on each rune. You can also abandon the quest after all the runes are destroyed, pick it up again, and repeat. It's not a bad alternative to the HoL and TotT methods, especially if you're really squishy or don't feel like stocking up on lots of food.

The best place I've found is the
Unstable Corruption
in the Throne of the Tides (Normal).
Kill the first two bosses, take the portal, head down the corridor and turn to your left.
I obtained
1280 within 1hour
. You can get about
15-25 a minute
.
Respawn time is
5-10secs
These mobs are

For any low levels trying to get these, I found killing the crown agents wherever the Crushing the Crown daily sends you to be the best way. They respawn really fast and have a good drop rate.

Does anyone tested this at Culling of Stratholme? Do the Zombies drop? I mean, you can always wait till one of the flags go to a distant place and then start to beat'em up!
edit: just tested, they doesn't drop... it seems the Slags are the best place to farm so far, anyway I've noticed a pattern of drops when you get to many too fast, they won't drop for a little while and they will drop less after that, anyone can confirm?

I tested out the Slag and here were my results.
Slag
1 Hour of straight farming, with about 75% of the damage single target and 25% aoe (assuming that single target damage increases likelihood of charm drop rate) I also killed them very fast, with about a 2-5 second delay after they spawned. I did this on an arms warrior.
I got 230 charms in 1 hour.
Not sure if this has the best drop rate/time but the consistent drops without worry of competing with other players makes it a reliable spot.

I farmed 280 charms in an hour as a disc priest in The Iron Crucible in regular Halls of Lightning from the Slags. I shielded ran around and collected them all, then mind seared them. i was also able to complete my quest for "The Grisly Trophy's " for Darkmoon Faire as well.

One thing to note i don't think anyone said this from previous posts looks like the Test your strength quest takes precedence over charm creations haven't gotten a single one since on both quests i hope you don't make the same errors i have had made. Stack size = 40 for the Lovely charm and charm bracelet don't stack also keep this in mind; This Precedence Was changed in the most recent hotfix blizz did in patch 4.3.2. Now they can spawn at the same time there is no precedence place on the two items anymore update i found this out just wanted to reshare this new informtion.

What seems to be after experimenting with a guild member- if you have the Darkmoon Faire quest for grisly trophies AND this quest- you need to be in a group and in proximity to get the tokens. Once the Faire quest was turned in - no longer required group/proximity.

Hey guys. If you are looking to farm
Lovely Charm
Look no further than the
Unstable Corruption
in the
Throne of the Tides
.
Quick Kill
Super Fast Spawn
High Drop Rate
Low Damage
As of Febuary 6th 2012. I would say that this is probably the best play to get
Lovely Charm
. In order to get to the kill area you'll need to solo the first boss in the instance in order to open up the hallway. The second boss can be skipped simply by walking around him. Downstairs the zone will be open and the farming can begin! Actively clearing at full speed, I was able to farm
about 140 of charms in 10 minutes.
Quick Tips for Farming the Charms Here:
Never Approch the 2
Tainted Sentry
's at the end of the hall.
If you pull and kill these Sentries, the adds will stop spawning and you'll need to reset the instance.
This is very important lol. Don't get close to them!
Always have the instance on
NORMAL
difficulty.
Less time to clear the two bosses
Less damage from
Wave of Corruption
If you are not a class with self heals, bring a couple peices of food. This will help you heal up if you need it.
Couple of Screenshots:
16 Charms in 50 seconds
Start at 163
Plus 70 after 5 minutes
Plus 140 after 10 minutes
GL! Happy Farming. Will Post if Hot-fixed.

In 30 minutes farming slags in Halls of Lightning as a feral tank, I was able to rack up around 125 of these.
After clearing the slags, it takes around 20 seconds for them to all respawn. Great spot that's instanced, no competition for kills from other players.

One important thing about "Lovely Charm Bracelet" is that they DON'T STACK! So in order to keep your bags clean as much as possible for an happy farming experience, I suggest you to keep them as stack of 40 "Lovely Charm" until you need to turn them in.

Note Worthy: As people have said, you can set your pets on aggressive and have them do all the work and you will still collect the charms. In addition to this, I have found out that it does not matter who actually has marked the target first.
I was able to attack monsters that were already being attacked by others and had a grey bar, and was still able to get charms from them.
If you have a warlock, Spriest, or anything else with easily tossed up DoTs, it is great to go to the area in Uldum where everybody is doing the daily quest
Crushing the Crown
and just put DoTs up on all the mobs while everyone does the rest of the damage. As long as you contribute damage to the target, regardless of who actually initiated, you still have a chance at getting a charm.

For players farming these, ive found a few very good locations for killing mass amounts of mobs. I'll rank the top 5 ive found starting with the most effecient.
1. Death Knight Initiates - In front of ice crown citadel, there are 23 of them clumped into around a 10 yard radius around a mob named Rokir. these all have a chance to generate a charm, the cool thing is Rokir actually summons an army of undead similar to the death Knights ability and provides you with about another 20 to kill every 30 seconds. The respawn timer on the 23 mobs is around 20 seconds. This is by FAR more effective then the other methods.
2. Throne of Tides. The elementals that spwns just before the last boss are an excellent source for these, be sure to do this in normal mode and not heroic. they have about a 5-8 second spawn timer. It's best to do this as a ranged DPS. Make sure you don't kill the 2 large adds just before the boss or you'll end the spawning.
3. Skeletal Runesmith in Ice Crown - These mobs can be found just north east of ICC and have a spawn timer of around 15 seconds, i counted 21 mobs. Unfortunately though, 3 of these mobs have a knockback/stun which does slow it down a tad.
4. Slags in Hall of lightning - Not really going to elaborate on this since it's already been mentioned several times.
5. Risen Alliance Soldier. (not sure if these would be Risen Horde Soldier for Horde players) These can be found in mid eastern Ice Crown. They are right in front of the wall to Mordrethar. There are around 80-100 mobs that are lightly spread about 3-7 yards apart each. If you just run through one end spamming an AOE ability such as Arcane Explosion, Swipe, Fan of Knives..etc etc you will be able to make cricles around this place non stop since they spawn faster then you can kill them all. The reason this is listed as last is not all classes have a spammable AoE abilitiy on the move. If you are one of these classes, this would probably take the number 2 slot in charm production.
Ive also heard Molten front is a excellent place to farm for heavy armor classes such as Death Knights, Paladins, and Feral tanks. I however was unable to test this as i dont have any of those 3 classes.
Just a side note as well, all the mobs listed do not drop anything but a small amount of silver, so i'd suggest not looting them.

"Help the Bombardier. I'm the Bombardier!"

Just adding my 2 pence into the Test Your Strength/Charm farming issue.
Using the Slag farming place in HoL, I found that you could easily get both sets of items. The thing is the charms get priority over the trophies, but they don't drop all the time, so this means that you will always get at least one of them but never both. Basically, if it doesn't drop the charm, you'll get the credit for the trophy.
Hope this helps :)

Easiest method for me was to farm them from Unstable Corruptions. Easily farmed due to the fact that the mobs spawn endlessly every 15 seconds or so, which is just long enough to gather them up and burn them down. Getting anywhere from 7-10 charms per wave, which equates to roughly a 35-40% drop rate. Kind of a drag getting to that point in the dungeon, but the longer you farm them the more worth it the fighting becomes.
Enter Throne of the Tides (Normal) and proceed to first boss. Kill her, then skip the second boss by running around him. Take the left fork, kill the two patrolling larger water elementals, and let the farming begin.
NOTE: Do NOT pull the final two larger Tainted Sentries, as once pulled the little ones stop spawning. If you happen to do so, running out of the instance is easily done....however in my experience, the drop rate is nerfed from 7-10 per group to only 2-3 per group. Unsure as to if that is consistant since it only happened to me once before instance reset at 10 am server time.

Not sure if this place has been mentioned, but inside Cathedral of Darkness in Icecrown(Not named on the map, but it's just North-West of ICC) is a great place. Almost instant spawns, but they're level 80 elites, meaning they hit a little harder and take a little longer to kill, but in just 10 minutes of being there I got 63 Lovely Charms. The mobs in there have 37.8k health, they were still relatively easy to farm on my 85 hunter.

The
Lovely Charm
s are used to turn into
Lovely Charm Bracelet
s (it required
Lovely Charm
x10 to create one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
, which in turn are used to complete dailies (which reward
Love Token
s), or can be spent to purchase one
Love Token
at the
Lovely Merchant
vendor in any major city. You can get
Lovely Charm
by killing mobs appropriate to your level while you have a
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
in your inventory, which you also receive by talking to the
Lovely Merchant
.
Notably, farming
Lovely Charm
s to turn into
Lovely Charm Bracelet
s, to spend at the
Lovely Merchant
vendor, is the only path to get
Love Token
s that is not constrained by dailies; the faster you get your
Lovely Charm
s, the faster you can accumulate your
Lovely Charm Bracelet
s and the your
Love Token
s to buy the specialty holiday items.
The best place to use your
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
to collect your
Lovely Charm
s is in
Throne of the Tides
. Leave the zone set to normal mode to speed the process and reduce any damage taken.
After killing the first two bosses, go back to the entrance and head up the left corridor towards
Ozumat
. In the hallway there, kill the
Unstable Corruption
mobs that continuously spawn. They can be AoE killed quickly (only about 3k health!), even solo, by almost any class, and each one that dies has a chance to leave a
Lovely Charm
. You will have to kill the
Tainted Sentry
mobs in the front and middle of the hallway first to clear room to kill the
Tainted Sentry
s. However, be careful not to kill the two
Tainted Sentry
that are standing at the end of the hallway before
Ozumat
; once those die, the
Unstable Corruption
s stop spawning.
Depending on how quickly your class can AoE farm here, you can easily pick up 500+
Lovely Charm
s per hour; some classes report farming almost 1,000/hour. You will likely need a group to help you kill the first two bosses, though.
(Note: Technically, you only have to kill the first boss,
Lady Naz'jar
, and activate the control panel, to open up
Ozumat
's hallway to access the
Unstable Corruption
s. However, the spawn of the 2nd boss
Commander Ulthok
blocks your path back to the teleporter, so realistically he will have to be killed as well.)

How to farm
Lovely Charm
s easily:
The best place in my opinion is
The Iron Crucible
in the Halls of Lightning.
How to reach this place
1) Go to the
Halls of Lightning
, near Ulduar in The Storm Peaks on Northrend.
2) Enter the instance and go to The Iron Garrison, which is just beyond the Unyielding Garrison which is where the first boss patrols. You do not have to kill him to reach this room.
The mobs
The Iron Garrison is a small room with a cauldron-like object moving up and down in the center. The Unbound Firestorms near the stairs can be ignored. The mobs of interest are the Slags. There are 14 of them in this room, and they have 15827 hitpoints. They spawn on each of the four sides of the center object, with the majority of them on the sides towards the entrance and exit. If you allow them to roam free, they move towards their own spots scattered across the room so the evenly fill up the place, but the majority spawn on a specific location together.
How to do it
You can either just semi-afk the entrance or exit spawn point, for example with the Paladins Seal of Insight and Retribution Aura (bear in mind you still can't survive indefinately), popping aoe's as you see fit, or you call pull the entire room by walking in a circle around the center object and then aoe-nuke them.
Note: They leave a movement-speed reduction debuff on you upon death, so if you are troubled by this, then pull them first and then kill them afterwards, rather than killing them as you go/pull through the room.
Useful info
They are level 79, so still green for a lvl 85 player. This makes pulling easier, because of the bigger aggro radius.
They respawn very quickly, 30 seconds after death. If you kill them all at the same time, they will respawn at the same time as a pack.
They drop about 1 charm per 3-4 kills. This is a rough estimate. You get roughly 4-6 per respawn. 10 charms per minute, so 600 per hour.
Low hp (15k) so aoe'ed down very easily.
It's in an instance, so
no competition
!
Enjoy.

If you're looking to farm these AND make decent gold at the same time, check out the old favorite of Needlerock Slag/Stonehearth in Deepholm. If you just focus on the packs of 10+ mobs, with an hour of farming, and the potion of treasure finding equipped, I (decently geared fury warrior) was able to pull in:
120 Lovely Charms
80 Embersilk Cloths
12 HypDust/4 Lesser Essences (from D/E greens)
100g in junk
and
25 Tiny Treasure Chests, which contained:
100g
121 Embersilk Cloth
1 green
6 Pyrite Ore
5 Volatile Air
5 Volatile Water
4 Volatile Fire
2 Volatile Earth
1 Volatile Life
5 Elementium Ore
Last hour, I got significantly more valuable stuff, but on my server the chest loot+mob drops from this run sold for about 1100g. My previous hour pulled in 1600g worth. So expect that range.
Again though, if you're JUST farming the charms, this is not the best spot.

The Slag mobs in The Iron Garrison will give you about 250-300 Lovely Charms per hour. No need to run around, just stand in front of first spawn point and slash away. 2 to 4 charms per 10 mobs. Re-spawn is practically instant.

Easy way a fellow guild member told me. Go to the Molten Front, the Shadow Wardens offer the daily quest Enduring the Heat. Go into the Igneous Depths, stand in a blue rune and wait for a bunch of mobs to surround you then destroy the rune. Continue to do this for all of them, then abandon the quest and repeat.
I have personally confirmed this. I got over 100 Charms in maybe half an hour to an hour, I wasn't really paying attention to the time. Hope this helps someone. :)

Referring to
If you are on Test Your Strength ...
, I would like to post the
link to blizzard's blue post
confirming the issue and suggesting a workaround, i. e. put the darkmoon guide into the bank while farming Lovely Charms.
Although it sounded like a nice theory/workaroud, swapping the order of thoses items in your inventory does not help.
Even after this week's maintenance server reboots, I still don't get Lovely Charms, when I have both items in my inventory. The issue definitely hasn't been fixed for
all
. It's unclear why some are affected and some are not. So please stop saying
This is not true
just because you are personally not affected.
The following taken from
Patch 4.3 Hotfixes - February 7
is simply not correct for
all
.
Love is in the Air
Players are now able to receive Lovely Charms while on the quest "Test Your Strength", when the player's inventory has both the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide and Lovely Charm Collector's Kit.
Players now have the chance to receive both the Lovely Charm and Grisly Trophy from a single kill.
Even more strange is that I never got Lovely Charms on my priest (EU - Bloodhoof), when I had both items in my inventory. But when I switched to my druid and acquired the Collector's Kit, I got 2 Grisly Trophys and on 3rd kill a Lovely Charm, but not both from a single kill. I switched back to my priest (thinking it got fixed). 40 kills. 40 Grisly Trophys. No Lovely Charms. I switched to my druid. 40 kills. 40 Grisly Trophys. No Lovely Charms.
Note that you can farm Lovely Charms on an alt, convert them to bracelets, wrap them into gift paper and mail them to your main.

Throne of the tides. Right before the last boss. Those little elementals; unstable corruptions. They respawn within seconds of dying, and it's nonstop. Easily can get 160 charms in about 30 minutes; I was farming the slags in Halls of lightning before, but these are definetly better than the slags. You can make twice as many charms in Throne of the tides. You do have to watch out for the elementals stacking debuff though. So bring along some food just in case if you aren't a class with a healing spell so you don't die.
Another downside aside from the debuff, is that you have to solo Lady Naz'jar, or the first boss. I did it as a hunter with a tenacity pet ... It was difficult, but doable. Also have to clear some trash to get a certain gate to open to even get to the first boss, but most of the trash can be skipped, as well as the second boss.
EDIT: Went back there today and went from 550 charms to 800 in about 45 minutes. Just got my lovebird <3

Mount up -> walk trough mobs so they all attack you -> dismount and AOE them down -> repeat.
Mobs spawn really fast (i couldnt mount up when i was done cuz mobs spawned around me
all
the time.)
I also did Darkmoon Faire quest
Test Your Strength
at the same time. Many ppl have said that you cant collect
Grisly Trophy
at the same time when you are collecting
Lovely Charm

This is not true.
Im lvl 85 and able to collect both at the same time.

Granted not as high as the 85's here claim, but still a few hours farming, and you will have all you need for the pet, mount, and achievements.

Farming these pretty mindlessly on my MM Hunter in Halls of Lightning, in the slag room. Lay down explosive traps, set pet to defensive, shoot everything. I usually just stay in one spot near the entrance of the room and pick them off.
Probably slower than Throne of the Tides, but the first boss in Halls of Lightning is easier, which is helpful if you're not an extremely well geared 85.
I wasn't timing myself, but I got 400 in about 2 hours.

For any ranged trying to make this as trivial as possible use an attack nearest enemy target.
/console set targetnearestdistance 40

/cast multi-shot
My macro on my hunter, just replace multi-shot with your spell of choice, then just aim yourself in the mob's general direction and push the macro and it will target the mob and use whatever spell in the macro, hope this helps.

In 15 min I farmed 78 Lovely Charms in Deepholm killing the Stone Bats. They are neutral (Yellow) so if you are a Boomkin or any range for that matter it will be super easy for you. Just target one in the group and they all will fly down to you & just simply AOE them! I started right before the server was starting to shut down and in 15 min I managed to get 78! Not too bad, considering I done a lvl 85 heroic dungeon this morning and only received 4.

SOMEthing has to have been done to the first boss in Throne. I did this boss extremely easily just before the restarts using no heroism and only Fire Ele totem, and now I have died twice using heroism, Fire and Earth Ele. Maybe it was something like a TINY damage upgrade to the boss or similar, but I just can't get past her now. Still on normal mode.

Farming Lovely Charms as Rogue
800-900 Charms/Hour
Only requires the push(spam) of one button
I have been farming Unstable Corruption in the Throne of the Tides Normal mode as a rogue.
Ive been using a high survival spec with Subtlety as base.
Gear requirement isnt that high i guess i manage to pull this off with a itemlvl of 377 and 6855 each tick with Recuperate.
Ive been using this setup for 2 & ½ hour straight now, no deaths and pretty much as meny charms as doing this the old fashion way.
Spec:
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#fbhbZbZfG0cdhIoGo:Zd
You can use pretty much anything you want as long as it includes the Key talents.
Macro
/startattack
/cast Fan of Knives
Glyphs
Charred Glyph
Key talents:
Elusiveness
Fleet Footed
How to:
Enter Throne of Tides on Normal difficulty, skip all trash before 1 boss, kill first boss (its quite hard to solo as rogue, get help if needed, i did) then use the Defense system console. Now go back and take enter the left hallway (Map point of view) with the farm spot, clear the 2 Tainted sentry patrolling the spawn area (You can skip the first one if you want) Remember do NOT to kill the other 2 standing guard by the gate this will stop the respawn of Unstable Corruption.
Target one of the Tainted sentrys by the gate then use Premeditation walk over to the farm spot and spam Fan of Knives till you have got 5 combo points now pop Recuperate, then take position some were you wont be hit in the back, Iam standing by the disc formed seaweed plant (located at the side with the window), having my back turned against it. Now just keep spamming and spamming the Fan of Knives macro , Recuperate will refresh with each kill.
Enjoy!
Notes.
The Tainted sentrys will respawn at some point and might kill you. (3 hours)?
You might die a few times (or near) before you find a good position.
Make sure you have something to entertain you (im watching TV while doing it ) or you probably go crazy, i know i would.
Please dont be to judgmental, this is my first post.

I spent quite a bit of time at Needlerock Slag and found that the troggs you'd usually farm while using the Potion of Treasure Finding also drop Lovely Charms at a pretty decent rate.

Whether you are farming for these or Darkmoon "grisly trophies", I have found that the best place to go if you are level 85 is in icecrown in the NW corner of the Vile Hold..there is a group of DK initiates, a few DK adepts and their master Baelok, rider of blood..everything besides him drops quick and he is only 80 elite so he dies relatively quick as well..I can usually pull 7 to 10 charms otta this little mob at a time as its respawn time is like 2 mins...I worked it for half an hour and left with more than 200 charms..There might be better places but certainly none easier for the payout than here...gl all

If you're a lowbie (20-29) chasing
Swift Lovebird
(or all items ASAP) and you honestly want to farm
Lovely Charm
to turn them into
Lovely Charm Bracelet
in one sitting so you can trade them for
Love Token
head over to Dawning Woods Catacombs which lie beneath the Raven Hill Cemetery in Duskwood.
There are zombies, loads and loads of zombies and they re spawn crazy fast.
If you start low 20s you'll get enough charms to convert, then trade, to buy all event vendor items from a solid days grind (aprox. 6hrs with AoE, 7+hrs without AoEs.) Be aware that if you start mid 20s or high 20s you won't get as many
Lovely Charm
because the XP gained will have you leveling fast and eventually the mobs grey out. Also don't wear any heirlooms because the speed XP is your enemy here.
Edge your way into the catacombs as it's easy to pull 5+ mobs in one go. Not for the feint hearted or squishies who aren't confident in their CC skills.
**don't forget to have
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
on you **

This has been my way of collecting charms so far.
Since I do not have any 85s on the server I play on (70 twinks), I decided to put my cloth caster BoAs to good use.
I made a level 1 Human Mage and gave it full BoAs (minus ring because I use it on the druid I'm leveling) and proceeded to Stormwind to cap my experience. After I capped myself (do this between level 1 and 4 to get charms), I proceeded to start the daily quest that gives you the charm box. I then hearthed back to the human starting area and began farming the level 1 to 2 mobs. They respawn very quickly and after two hours of farming I ended up with 301 charms.
This is not the fastest way, but it is a decent way if you have BoAs or do not have 85s on the realm you are farming on.

An easy but slow way to collect these at 85 is to portal to hyjal and farm the elementals - they have 30(ish)k health and also drop volatile earth which is handy for the AH. Also if you are a prolific looter and miner -> there is some gold to be made here too :)

Throne of Tides
is THE place to go, the Unstable Corruptions have barely no health at all 3095 to be exact and spawn very quickly (leave the 2 sentry at the end door alone)
I went there with my ilvl 367
feral
offspec
druid
without problems,
Normal Mode ONLY
As for the spirit mender trash groups, I just focused on one of them at a time, bash and stun as much as possible, it eventually dies then you can focus on the second one,
Boss: stay in Bear form, use
Demoralizing Roar
and
Faerie Fire
,
Skull Bash
her to interrupt her casts. When she becomes immune and 3 adds spawn use
Demoralizing Roar
on them and
kill the casters FIRST
. The Melee add might still be alive when the boss gets out of the immune state, but thats ok, just finish him and continue on the boss,
It's important to get out of her Geyser, since you are the only player it will spawn under your feet every single time. If you do get hit by a geyser dont panic, just switch to cat to take less damage on the fall.
Remember your cooldowns,
Survival Instinct, Barkskin
and
Berserk
Safe
Frenzied Regeneration
for emergencies
WARNING
! Do not leave to turn in Charms until you absolutely have to, the
Dungeon will reset on its own if you hearth to Orgrimmar!
ps. Go in there with your armour freshly repaired, a few hours into farming and you might need to go repair

What's best recommended for a mid level 40 Worgen Warlock? Also, is it true you have to get the killing blow to get the charm; and that if your demon does it, no charm? I'd really like to know!

Note that hunters have a very easy time getting charms, as you don't actually have to do damage, even when it's just your pet doing damage you will still get charms. This makes abyssal halls in
Throne of Tides
even better. You can almost afk and still get charms if your pet is parked in the right place, as it will agro the unstable corruptions on it's own, and when in assist mode, it will kill any attacking you. If you pick the right spot to place the pet it will bounce between that spot and you agroing mobs in the area between it's "spot" as it runs to defend you. As long as you pick a spot where the pet won't agro too many, and you agro too many, you shouldn't get overwhelmed. Personally I found the sweet spot to be me to stand ~5 yards south of the pool, and then for the pet to stand half way up the pool next to the clam/rock on the ground. It will look like there's several groups that won't get pulled by your pet above the water pool, but they will pat down and aggro onto your pet eventually.
Obviously BM is the best spec for this as you and your pet will heal continuously, and can be specced to be much tankier against the shadow dot, which is the only dangerous thing as it stacks continuously as long as it's getting attacked by the unstable corruptions, but it's likely that any hunter (or lock for that matter) could get it to work pretty well. A tenacity pet worked best, as it has aoe damage with it's thunderstomp, but my tenacity pet (with no damage talents) was one shotting the corruptions anyway with his melee attack, so really only matters for preventing you from getting attacked. If you are not BM however you will need to pay more attention, as my health would semi-rarely go down to 80% as my pet worked his way through the mobs, but due to spirit link would go back up 100%. Out of combat regeneration will be pretty limited as your pet should be pretty constantly attacking corruptions if the two of you are parked in the right places.
I did have a problem with the "move to" spot I had picked going away. I seemed to have particular trouble if I told my pet to stand inside the pool, but the bug wasn't consistent. Additionally sometimes the corruptions wouldn't aggro due to proximity to my pet sometimes, but eventually they will, and that's all you need.
This isn't the fastest method of getting charms (as you aoeing will kill the corruptions much faster, and thus have more respawn total per hour), I was getting around 200/hour, but if you are like me and find getting charms incredibly boring, it is the best method, as you can chat with guildies, watch a movie, etc while barely paying attention to the game, and your pet doing it's own thing.
If you're willing to glance at your health every once in awhile you can stand in the bottom side of the pool and have your pet stand at the top. Your pet will aggro the corruptions more often, so the spawn rate will increase but you won't be self sustaining in your health, so you'll have to find a way to heal every once in awhile (I used the 8 million
lifegiving seeds
I had), but this increased the rate of charm collection by quite a bit.

As of February 7th blizzard has hot-fixed the problem were the Lovely Charms would not drop until the Darkmoon Faire quest Test Your Strength. This is no longer the case you can now get both, and furthermore, don't get discouraged if it seems that you are just getting Grisly Trophies, just keep in mind that the Lovely Charms have a lower drop rate that the Grisly Trophies because on my lvl 85 Protection Paladin I am able to get both (mostly Grisly Trophies).
For those who choose to complain that its not true and what not, thats RNG for you.

I have found that the Slags in Halls of Lightening are the best for farming these Charms. As an 85 Mage it was easy to get to them, just avoided the boss walking round the outside and killed the trash. Once at the room I ran round , pulled all the Slags and used Arcane Explosion until dead. Rinse and repeat.
I found I was getting anywhere between 3-8 charms per pull. Plus its better to farm here as there is no one else to take your kills and disturb you.

I haven't seen anyone post it so here it goes.
Best place to farm with NO COMPETITION is Alterac Valley.
The mines have a large amount of low health troggs or our candle vermin friends. The other benefits of being in the battleground also make it much more appealing. I tried grinding them out in Icecrown at the runesmiths and death knights but there was a shadow priest who very heatedly argued that it was HIS spot. I'd just completely avoid the competition all together and go to AV. Happy Farming!

The very best place I've found so far is Malykriss: The Vile Hold in Icecrown. The Converted Heroes are nice, but EVERYONE farms there. In Malykriss, just go to the forge area with the skeletons and vrykul, and go nuts. The skeletons spawn within a minute of dying, without being looted. Awesome, plus there's probably not going to be any competition for kills.
edit: Unlike a lot of Icecrown, I *think* these mobs aren't phased, and visible no matter how many of the quests you've done. Some of the farming areas here are only viable if you're in the right phase--a guildie's farm place at the Fleshwerks was full of friendly (and kill-stealing) NPCs to me. Just something to keep in mind if you're going to farm in NR.

I got a lot of these (Like around 160) on my weekly Naxx solo run. Naxx has a lot of (Easy) trash that drop it, and on some boss fights the adds drop it (Maexxna spiderlings drop them, Noth skeletons do not drop them, I don't remember about Gothik's or KTs adds). EDIT: All of KTs adds drop them (Not sure about the guardians, but it's not like anyone kills them), and only the knights and riders of Gothik's do, the trainees don't.
5-8 stacks of frostweave.
Ton's of DE mats (Just group with an enchanter when you make a raid group).
Lot's of gold off the bosses themselves (I think about 125-140G each).
A fair amount of gold from vendor junk (Generally 100-200G).
And a nice atmosphere (purely opinion here though).
It ends up being about 2000G + Whatever the DE mats/cloth sells for on the AH + Your 160ish lovely charms.
So not the best if you are purely going for large amounts of these very fast (Go Throne of Tides or Halls of Lightning) , but if you are like me and enjoy soloing outdated content, then give it a go.

Here is a fast outline to eliminate any confusion about these Charms/Bracelets, information below is a quick
need-to-know
before you start your grinding. I wont write about "where the best place is.." frankly because it will change from year to year and your toon level, etc...
Information below is good regardless what patch we are on... Enjoy!
You have to have
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
to collect
Lovely Charm
and make
Lovely Charm Bracelet
.
Kwee Q Peddlefee
starts the quest to get
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
, right now each faction's capital city has one (4 per faction).
Kwee Q Peddlefee
s quests are a repeatable daily quest. Awards
Love Token
x5 and a card that has a buff on it (good for raids and questing).
Each repeatable quest is turned in to their own respectable faction leader:
A Gift For the...
Lovely Charm
x10 turns into one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
, currently there is no limit to how many of these you can make (bag space permitting).
Lovely Charm Bracelet
is not stackable, so be bag ready before you start grinding for them.
Lovely Charm
is stackable to 40.
You don't ever have to "loot" anything to get
Lovely Charm
, but you do have to have bag space. They fall into your bag automatically after the baddie dies.
The baddie has to be
AT LEAST
green for you to receive a charm
(within 5 levels of your level)
.
You can turn in one
Lovely Charm Bracelet
for one
Love Token
from any of the
Lovely Merchant
s in each capital city.
Lovely Charm Collector's Kit
is only around during
Love is in the Air
and can safely be farmed while on
Test Your Strength
(as of 02/07/12).
You can get achievement
Nation of Adoration
by making
Lovely Charm Bracelet
four times (
Lovely Charm Bracelet
x40 needed).
Although
Lovely Charm
is bind on pick up,
Lovely Charm Bracelet
can be gifted using a
Red Ribboned Wrapping Paper
of your choice and mailed to alts, yourself, etc... (quick list:
Wrapping Paper...
) Very handy if you are grinding for the
Swift Lovebird
mount.

Slag in Halls of Lightning are really quick and easy to farm especially if you're not that geared as 85, or you're farming on an alt.
These are the molten guys between the first and second boss. They have a whopping 16k health and a rapid respawn rate.
The drop rate on these is ridiculously high. Usually getting about 4-6 each room pull.

I have to agree Halls of lightening n the Iron Crucible is THE best place cause it you and only you and they respawn.
Retr Pally 85. Just used divine storm over and over and they bow down....Smiles
Pulling huge mobs seem to get less charms than pulling 2-3 at a time.
Comment by
AnakarisRex
The Iron Crucible in the Halls of Lightning is THE place. As mentioned here, the slags respawn quickly and continuously.
You can do this easily even without AoE.
I am an 85 rogue (31-2-8) and I can sit there with Recuperation and Slice and Dice constantly up. The rotation is Mutilate-Rupture-Mutilate and the Slags drop like flies one at a time. Deadly Momentum give the first Multilate a double crit, and with Rupture up when they die my energy refills for the next. It's a great cycle over and over.

Easy cheesy - go to icecrown fleshworks. Find the bridge with the risen soldiers. Drop rate is about 33% or roughly 1 of every 3rd or 4th kill. Respawn fast. Earn some silver for your troubles. Charming! No dungeons required.

The area with the Slags in Halls of Lightning is, for a MM hunter, the best place in the entire game. Respawns incredibly fast, takes no more than 1 second to kill in LFR/Valor vendor gear and with
and 1 point in
you can spam Multi-Shot ad infinitum. In just 30 minutes I have racked up 272 charms.

I didn't see it mentioned (though I may have overlooked with the numerous posts), but if you're farming these in mass quantities, if you stack haste, and use haste trinkets, or spells that increase your haste (like Heroism), it effects the speed in which it takes to create a
Lovely Charm Bracelet
. It helps a little bit speeding up the long, boring process when you're trying to clean out your inventory of about 2000 Charms.

For those low levels and Alt twinks! i've found the best place to farm this things... the place where you must kill the crown thugs and destroy the caravan is a good place to farm if you are a lvl 18-21 twink, it helped me alot for getting the exact number of charms for the entire event, it took me one day, or like... 2 hours, anyways its the best spot for 18-21 lvl twinks, hope this info helps :D

A good place to get these in Icecrown is at 55.79, 79.54 (TomTom coordinates).
For those without coordinates, look at the southern part of that zone, by ICC. Its just to the right of the center peaks. When you zone in, look for a DK NPC named Rokir. He'll be on a rise surrounded by alot of Death Kight Adept(s).
If you're a warlock, target him with Seed of Corruption. When he runs toward you, he'll pull the rest of the mob, and the Seed will kill or harm many of them as he charges you. You'll still have to fight them, but at lvl 85 with a 4-piece tier set, its an easy kill.
This mob has been droping about 7 charms per mob, and the respawn rate is fast. Put it this way, many times they respawn before I can loot the entire dead mob at my feet.
One word of caution. They tend to send you flying backwards. If you're not careful, they'll send you over the ledge to your death. Even with 151K health.
