Drops in normal mode of the new 10 Man Colosseum raid. This is the Horde version of
This trinket gives you a constant +179.1667 AP with its procc effect (give or take a few, this is saying your attacks are made quick so every 2 minutes you get the effect)
heres some math how i got that.
215 x 5 = 1075
you maintain 1075 AP for 20 seconds, now there are 6 increments of 20 seconds in 2 minutes. so you do
1075 / 6 = 179.1667 constant ap.
this may not apply fully to warriors and Death knights because of there slow swing speed. but i play a fist/dagger specc combat rogue so it applies very well.
i would only recommend this trinket if you are not expertise caped or if you are using +16 expertise gems to be caped. otherwise id recommend
for a constant 320 attack power
Behold now, the terrible Vengeance of the Forsaken!
Grand Apothecary Putress
now concentrated as a trinket...
Assuming that he is hit and expertise capped, this trinket effectively frees up 2 talent points for a feral druid =D
It appears that when a dual wield death knight (and presumably mutilate and storm strike) ability hits, you do not get two stacks.
Could potentially be very usefull for enhancement shamans due to the lack of expertise on T9.
I just picked this beauty up last night, let me tell you what an awesome trinket, it not only exp. capped my but it also increased my Dps a lot more than i thought, i really didnt think i was being dodged, parried etc. so much and obviously it caused a lack in dps just goes to show how important Exp. really is, not to mention the Use + Beserk = made dps spikes and idk about the other ferals out there but personally after i get some fresh bleeds on my target i spam shreds which for me crit for about 8-9k with and than a 5cp FB which easily crits for roughly 20k thanks for your kkbye lol
Does not give charges from bleeds or poisons ticking. Figured it didn't, but just did some testing and confirmed it.
This trinket is actually pretty great, despite what Putress would have you believe.
This is BEAST for cranking out threat and dps as a prot warrior.
Substantial upgrade over Mark of Norgannon EOE 25M drop.
you can get your 5 stacks almost instantaneously do to the fact that most warriors have heroic strike and devastate macro'd together.
ret pally's can macro this with their avenging wrath for super fun happy time. even shares same duration and same cooldown (when talented of course)
here's the macro
/use Vengeance of the Forsaken
/cast Avenging Wrath
Alot better trink to have then the Mirror of Truth, If u have enough crit, and not exp capped. I am loving the more exp, and 1075ap (75more ap then mirror).
Call me crazy, but something seems a little underwhelming about this trinket. Consider the math of a feral druid with an effective attack speed of 0.7131 raid buffed (mine, according to Toskk's model). I am hit-capped and soft expertise-capped, so I am guaranteed to proc this trinket every two minutes.
Elapsed time at 1 stack (215 AP): 0.7131 seconds
Elapsed time at 2 stacks (430 AP): 0.7131 seconds
Elapsed time at 3 stacks (645 AP): 0.7131 seconds
Elapsed time at 4 stacks (860 AP): 0.7131 seconds
Elapsed time at 5 stacks (1075 AP): 17.1476 seconds
Averaging these up, I get a net benefit of 998.34 AP...huh? Isn't this supposed to be better than
Mirror of Truth
You might argue that this effect lasts 20 seconds and the Mirror only 10. That is indeed true, though the internal cooldown of this is 120 seconds vs. the 45 seconds of the Mirror. And you might also argue that this is a guaranteed chance on hit, vs. the 10% chance on crit to trigger the mirror. Well, let's take a look at how that plays out.
With a 63.01% crit chance, I will trigger the Mirror on average once every 15.8 swings after the internal cooldown has ended. With a 0.7131 attack speed, that means I will trigger the Mirror once every 56.27 seconds. Therefore:
Mirror of Truth: 1000 AP (10 sec) every 56.27 sec = 177.72 AP
Vengeance of the Forsaken: 998.34 AP (20 sec) every 120 sec = 166.39 AP
The Mirror of Truth's proc is actually worth about 11 more AP to me than this trinket's. So to make up the 32 ilevels, 83 expertise has to be significantly more valuable to me than 84 crit rating (it isn't, and from an itemization standpoint, they are equal). So how exactly is this trinket ilevel 232?
By the way, I also ran the numbers for a typical combat rogue, fury warrior and ret pally just to see if my case was in some way unusual:
Combat Rogue (0.5 attack speed, 50% crit): Mirror 168.9 AP, Vengeance 170.2 AP
Fury Warrior (1.3 attack speed, 45% crit): Mirror 164.6 AP, Vengeance 155.9 AP
Ret Paladin (2.6 attack speed, 40% crit): Mirror 159.2 AP, Vengeance 132.6 AP
The Mirror's value drops as critical strike chance drops, but not nearly as fast as this trinket's value drops with attack speed. Slow dual-wielders (and even worse, slow two-handers) will see a large drop-off in value of this trinket. A normal 45-second internal CD would have put this trinket's value back in the 232-245 ilevel range...why did this one get the shaft?
I'm an enhancement shaman and here's my outlook. I got this trinket around 2 weeks ago, 2 major and significant things it's done for me.
1. Allow me to stop gemming & enchanting for expertise and able to have around 190 more AP from gems Enchants etc. Now may i remind you that the Ap doesn't go away at all. Expertise capped is a must for shamans because if your not hitting your not getting the correct procs from your talents therefore less DPS over all. So having that 83 expertise really makes it worth it for me.
2. Basically it's like what Tirothe said, its an on use trinket to have AP when you need it. Its not as if you want to be lazy and just go "deee da deee i don't have to time anything its all off proc". It's not a big truck it's not something you just dump something on, no having this for certain fights that require you to DPS harder at a certain points (30% Anub, Twins Bubble, XT HM) this just gives you that extra boost.
The only thing i don't like about it is that yes it only gives 998 AP and that it shares its use with a lot of other trinkets :[
An enh shaman should have this thing max stacked within 5 seconds as long as they are smart about it. Between LL, SS, WF, and plain white attacks (you should get 4 white attacks within 5 seconds) there is
no reason to not have it stacked.
As for the quality, it gives nearly all of the expertise you would need. Given the lack of expertise on t10 this could actually be a decent trinket going into t10, though I don't know how it would stack up to ICC trinkets and just gemming for the lost expertise.
did you think we had forgotten?
Well... it is pretty terrible.
