Similar to Hallowed Tome, using this trinket cycles through three possible versions with unique effects and differing passive stats:

Baleful Excerpt on Dark Summons — Mastery — summons a pet
Baleful Excerpt on Sacrificial Rituals — Haste — saps your health for primary stats
Baleful Excerpt on Prophetic Death — Critical Strike — extra shadow damage

You can get it at Champion track for 1 Radiant Emblem of Service.

It might take 15 seconds, but this trinket will break the limit on the primary stat when you are on the Sacrificial Rituals page. You can't flip pages in combat.

Bought the trinket in hopes of testing the summoning part of it, tested for a while and these are my findings:

-> every 5 seconds IN COMBAT you get a stack of a buff called "Dark Whispers" - it has no duration and looks like a cloaked figure covering its mouth
-> as soon as you would get your 5th stack the buff transforms into a 20 second duration buff called "Dark Presence", which looks like priest's Shadow Form
-> when you get the 20 second buff a small void elemental spawns (the new TWW model) called "Manifested Shadow" which SHOOTS 3 seconds cast time shadowbolts at your target
-> seems to inherit your CRIT and HASTE (faster casting/more shadowbolts for the duration)
-> for a ilvl 658 each shadobolt dealt between 268 - 297k damage and crit for 538 - 593k damage
-> you DO NOT get stacks when the void elemental is up, so the trinket starts stacking AFTER the elemental despawns

Basing on the description I was expecting a bigger/better model of the summon, current one is easy to miss during combat :(
Seems like a cool little trinket for no effort, do note that because the elemental is casting shadowbolts, any movement of it's target out of range makes it stop casting and moving closer, losing uptime
I was too excited to test it and didnt check if/how much the elemental scales with the trinket's ilvl

For the record, the haste version of this trinket gives 1494 main stat at ilvl 658, and the proc for crit version deals 117k damage to a full health target and procs quite often
