At ILVL 580 (4/8 Adventure) and on a 1 minute fight (58 seconds) fighting Prioress Murrpray my total damage was 10.78m with 1.36m(12.6%) done from this trinket, it looks like approx. 3 procs a minute with each one hitting for 267k~ and critting for 534k.
On the healing side of the trinket, each proc healed for 269k and 558k for a crit but these heals only crit once, so it seems the healing crit chance is different from the dmg crit chance.
When it says "another devout ally", they do not need to wear this trinket for them to be healed by it, it just means yours friends.

So overall I would say this trinket is actually pretty good compared to other trinkets, does solid dmg and heals a fair amount,
With approx. 3 procs a minute (seems to be dmg/heal based proc chance not on cast proc chance) increased by target amount.

As the wording would indicate, this won't heal the user. I did some limited solo testing and never saw a heal on myself.

For its ilvl, it does extremely good damage. At least for tank and healer specs. Somewhere around 10-14% of total dmg done can be expected from what I've seen. As a DPS I'm guessing that number goes down a lot, but potentially still very good.

One thing I'm not clear about is it's range. It definitely does not require melee range, but I'm also not sure if you can stand 40 yards away from a target and expect it to work.

ilvl 584 (Veteran 1/8) trinket on a Grim Batol M0 run, as a 586 Survival Hunter:

Overall damage done: 29mil in 89 hits - 3.3% of my total - 3.5 to 5% of total dps on boss fights - noncrit average 256k, maximum 322k - crit average 511k, max 556k
Overall healing done: 18mil in 89 hits - noncrit average 153k, maximum 356k - crit average 409k, max 670k

Nevermind the "nearby enemy" in the trinket's description!
As a BM, I tested from a range of 38-40y against a target dummy and got about 3% of my damage done by Shining Arathor Insignia over the course of a 2min. test.

This trinket is the best trinket I have owned except my Spelunker's Waning Candle. Not only does it have my best secondary stat but the passive damage is insane. It does almost 5% damage and most of the time beats Withering Fire passive of the Dark Ranger tree on a Test Dummy. I got it from a cache at ilevel 593 i think. Realizing how good it is and there probably isn't a heroic version, I max upgraded it to 606.

This is a sleeper of a trinket. Against Nexus Princess Ky'veza in a 2:30min fight as Brewmaster Monk it did 4.98mil damage for 7.1% of my dps and healed for 2.84mil which was 8.7% of my healing at 606 ilvl.

Just got this, upgraded to ilvl 642. Ran two delves solo, guardian druid. The trinket was #2 for damage and #2 for healing. Did 12% of total healing, and 8% of total damage. Pretty nice passive trinket.

updated. ran a random mythic, in this case it was only 4% of total heals, but 12% of healing to myself. was still 12% of damage. maybe this is just better as a solo trink.

Only procs on damage. Tried doing damage to the training dummy in Dornogal where its right next to a friendly training dummy and it barely procs the heal unless you're doing constant damage.

DPS trinket, healers have better options sadly.

3/26/25 This trinket continues to OUT perform alot of the others that various sites recommend...does 6 to 12 percent damage consistent and spot heals just as much...why this trinket is overlooked on Bloodmallet and Qelive is beyond me. Its not even on any of the lists.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/a9dV1HQXNWt4h26A?fight=last&type=damage-done&source=6 In an actual dungeon, it did 1.37% damage, so it is very much not useful in AoE. Since it has no main stat, it would have to do about 13% of your overall damage to be worth using.

'Devout ally' for the purposes of this trinket is any Paladin, Holy Priest, or Discipline Priest (but not Shadow Priest), or a player of any class who has an item equipped that makes you devout (Shining Arathor Insignia, Arathi Minister's Receptacle, Hallowed Tome, Necklace of the Devout).

Even though it says 'another' devout ally, it does appear to be able to heal yourself.
