As of 24th September 2024 this fish is worth 721g on my realm and you need 5 of them for the recipe. The feast is selling for 641g.

I had 45 in fishing skill and just regular rod. Found a red pool in Hallowfall and got 3 Sharks and 1 Cursed Ghoulfish!

There is only ever one Blood in the Water pool in Hallowfall. However, it immediately respawns somewhere else. (I've watched it happen.) The locations it jumps between seem to reset each day, but about 50% of the time it moves to the next closest spot.

Don't know if it was a bug but i managed to fish 7 of these + 1 other fish in a single pool of Swarm of Slum Sharks in Azj-Kahet.
No special gear, just +8 fishing/+238 perception pole and 206 fishing skill.

And if you want to farm these, like many said, fish in other pools to force a respawn.

Also i don't know if it was nerfed but i used to find these pretty often (at least 2 pools per rotation) but now it seems rare. Or it is because i switched to war mode. Most of my farm is done in war mode because there's less people but maybe less people means less pools fished = less respawn for Slum Sharks ?
Or i was luck =)

Because this item is common (green), you can fish MORE of them without any extra buffs. The more perception you have, the more rare (blue) fish you will get, which means you'll get a bunch of the Cursed Ghoulfish instead of the Slum Shark. This is frustrating because the more weaverthreads I use to add Perceptionto my rod, the less of Slum Shark I catch. I used to get 4-7 per pool, and now I get 1-2, with the rest being ghoulfish. I'm up to my ears in those stupid ghoulfish that you can't delete or sell! Yes, I know you can make food with them, but it's soulbound, so essentially useless after you have a full stack. Blizzard needs to fix this by making the Slum Shark a blue item.

If you are a kaheti slum shark fisherman, you should not undercut your fellow fisherman. We should price fix like real fisherman, and sell at a high price. It is basically a cartel on the supply side of these. Anything lower than 1100, you should save your sharks for a later sale. They go fast.

Here are my observations for open water fishing the shark with high fishing skill.

As previous comments, perception can be an odd stat.

If you have high perception (above 450), hallow fall is the best spot, as most of the fish are common and perception will push them into green and multiproc at times. **Tip- You can use a pause pylon for your food and perception buffs.

If you have lower perception , Azj-Kahet can be a good spot, as most of the fish are green to being with and too much perception will make them blue, generally cursed fish.

I would agree with the 3% listed about for an open water catch rate.

These can be found in all inland lakes and rivers in Hallowfall, in Blood in the water schools. ( red coloured fishing pool) As well as in Azj-Kahet in Swarm of Slum Sharks. These look like normal pools and are very rare, to increase the spawn of these, fish all other pools you see. BOTH of these can spawn ANYWHERE another fishing node spawns (blood pools only where previously stated tho).

It can be hard to figure out which fish to filet for the Fresh Fillet, but for the love of all that is holy, do NOT filet this one. Either sell it on the Auction House to use it to make this delicacy Feast of the Midnight Masquerade, which is in high demand for high-end content.

Okay seriously though... how do you even farm these now? I have 0-2 fished out of Blood in the Water pools, but the last several I have fished returned 0. I do not have anything with increased Perception since the nerf to these pools hoping to avoid extra 'blue' rarity fish. I have searched online for any help on this and am unable to find anything recent. Anyone have some good suggestions? I've read through and put into practice these comments without success.

As of 6DEC25 fished this in Hallowfall after wasting 20+ min in Azj-Kahet with Ghoulfish Delight, I took off buff and only used oversized bobber and went to Hallowfall and found Blood in the Water pool and caught it on second cast. I hope this helps
