Wicked Swarmer is sold by Wrathion in Chamber of Heart and costs 100000xCorrupted Mementos on PTR. For get Corrupted Mementos you need complete daily quests, world quests and Assaults in Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

This grind will be fairly long. A +5 chest run is 1100 corrupted mementos, dont know about mask yet, but...yea if you wanna get the mount, you need to do heroic visions.

Purchased mine today! I love the bright red color of this one compared to the other 2. Wasn't too hard to get once you can start doing 5 mask runs. I'd average 2K or so mementos a run solo, and often ran with guildies who could do the 5 mask runs on their own. Good luck!

I finally got this mount today, farming 4100 mementos per horrific run:
3 mask is very safe, I could finish without using any orb (Faceless Mask of the Pained, Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge, Faceless Mask of Dark Imagination)
Also I loot every chest, and 2 crystals per zone (10 crystal total for extra 425 memento)
This addon is recommended to track location of crystal and chests

If you're main as Hunter then you can do this with no problem! (trying my best to explain for this simple guide I also did some mistakes before ><").

I got this mount other day so here is what I did with my main hunter BM (ilvl 466) and only talent you need to skip first zone is the Camouflage just to save time and then get spirit beast for spirit mend (set macro @player) and other pet with primal rage for 30% haste and (use primal rage on Mathias and Alleria in Stormwind and for Orgrimmar Rexxar and Thrall). For the essences the major is Purification Protocol r3 (deals more damage on aberrations) and minors are blood of the enemy, breath of the dying and vision of perfection all r3. First thing is having flask, scroll buffs AP/Stam, augment runes and food buffs (crit or haste 93) not horrific vision food buff they are completely useless for hunters I never used them!

Next is having maxed out titanic research and rank 15 cloak, including 5 masks.

Before you about to start there are good weakaura custom for it and that is showing affixes link, for tracking chest/crystal counter here is the link it will track the objects you collected and if not sure where are the odd crystals then (get handy notes n'zoth it got the odd crystals location very useful link) and other weakaura for tracking how many sanity left/time and collecting those odd flask buffs is this link you should keep getting those flask buff to help you on the way especially the sanity, sometimes you don't get the flask you want in some area because it's random but keep getting them for 30min while you clearing the areas.

In orgrimmar start going to drag > honor > spirits > wisdom
In Stormwind dwarven district > old town > trade district > mage quarter

So skip ahead to lost area first with camouflage but if you wish to clear first zone that's up to you but it's better to save time and save up sanity for other areas always check for dmg, crit or haste buff NPCs and the health buff not even worth of your time (well on my end) but if you want it then go for it. After clearing all and collecting chests plus odd crystals REMEMBER TO HAND IN THE CRYSTALS TO NPC BEFORE YOU HEAD TO LAST BOSS FOR MORE MEMENTOS!

This whole farm is pretty nasty. First you have to farm these mementos for the Titan Archive (how many runs is that? Quite a lot I'd imagine). Then, after you get the Titan Archive Tree mostly done (don't need to do it all but pretty close), then you have to farm for the 100k.

I'm already pretty sick of this repetitive garbage and I don't even have the Tree done.

All for a mount that's a bleh re-skin imo.

By the time I wanted to farm for this mount I already had about 57k mementos and 9 vessels to use. I did all 4-masks while opening every chest and finding every odd crystal and was able to get the mount that same day. It was a boring day.

So ultimately if you are starting from scratch you can count on having to run at minimum 20+ 4 masked visions to get this, and that is if you have vessels in the first place.

I will never do another vision again because I can upgrade my cloak with Echoes every week. Yay!

I'm not even a fan of the mount itself, but I need to get what I can for Lord of the Reins.

I have personally been farming this since we could. I can comfortably solo 5 mask on my aff lock with 125 ilvl
Finally today I get my prize. I am happy to say I NEVER have to set foot inside a vision again.

(not sure what folk are talking about in regards to removing corruptions in the pre-patch. I found i could solo it easier than before with the new aff lock changes with not even bis azurite essences or traits... )

Gl all who want to get it, it's an extremely long grind.

I've had this mount for a while now - I think I must have been one of the first.

I still check this page on WoWHead periodically - and it still says "Achieved by 0% of profiles"

For me it was worth and I did it as a monstrous Discipline Priest DMG/Heals build during BfA with some crazy corruptions.

It is now Dragonflight, and even easier to do this than in Shadowlands (I assume, never came back here during Shadowlands)

If you're anything like me, you grinded your ass off at the tail end of BfA to get Mad World, so you've unlocked and maxed everything out on your main, but you've completely forgotten how to run Visions.

You will need your Heart of Azeroth (probably?, didn't check) and your legendary cloak. Wear both and buy the vessel to enter the Visions from either Wrathion or Mother. Enter the Vision, and click on all five altars to get all five masks. Talk to Wrathion to start the Vision. Your goal is to kill everything (easy as they're like wet tissue now) and also importantly clear the four side areas before killing the final boss in the area where you spawn (Alleria or Thrall). Also make sure to loot the chests and click on the mailboxes for extra Corrupted Mementos. Elites will refill your Sanity bar, you have three items to help recover it if you lose some, and it's generally a cakewalk at 70 with 387 ilvl before the cloak and necklace.

Worst part would be ensuring you can buy more Vessels to run the Visions more, but a single 5 mask clear got me 750 Echoes of Ny'alotha (vessels cost 1750 from MOTHER), and I somehow have just over 280,000 Coalescing Visions while Wrathion sells the Vessels for a mere 10k each.

A single run as a MM hunter, not knowing the routes and very inefficent, was maybe 20 minutes? Could easily get to 15 minutes with proper planning and good movement got me just barely 4k mementos. (and that's on the more difficult Stormwind map) That's 25 runs when working from zero, which if you're looking at doing this after skipping the grind when it was current you certainly aren't.

I've decided not to farm this. 100k sounds daunting on its own until you realize you only get like maybe 4k per run even with every mask on.

No mount is worth doing 100 runs (200+ technically) AFTER you've already blown like 70k of the currency you had to save up on for research upgrades you don't even really need post-expansion. This is just one mount that is not worth the asking price... not that there aren't plenty of outrageously expensive mounts to begin with, but this one is actually insulting because it's not asking for gold, it's asking for a resource you can only get from dailies and re-runs of the same boring Visions of Org/Stormwind content you're probably already tired of after the first four runs.

I completed the achievement and got the serpent mount. I'm cool with that. This one can go in the trash heap with the rest of the blatant time-wasters Blizzard put in place to "reward" you for doing boring content and wasting your subscription time. Good luck to everyone who cares enough to do it. I'm putting this one in my big book of "crap I don't care about anymore" and moving on with my life. If they had removed the research requirement achievement, it wouldn't have been so bad, but then you'd essentially be choosing either this mount or the serpent mount so that just creates a new, equally obnoxious problem. Whatever.

Did they really reduce the cost of the Wicked swarmer by 80,000 momentos... Do you know how long I had to grind for that mount. Can blizzard please stop screwing with us.

I am so glad that I didn't decide to farm the original visions for this back in the day, love this nerf! 20,000 Displaced Corrupted Mementos is acquired in pretty much no time in 2025.
