This will act like a pet set on aggressive. It will attack and pull mobs even if you are not in combat. It does damage to multiple mobs per shot if they are close to each other.

There HAS to be a mob in front of it, otherwise it won't fire, and you'll have wasted 5 minutes of waiting.

If you're a Rogue attempting to solo the Baron in Undead Stratholme, this trinket is great when dealing with the massive waves of zombies after you kill Rammstein (the boss in the gauntlet).

Funniest trinket in the game, Horde get so scared when i use it. If you're farming for it keep farming cuz its worth it.

One question, is the cannonball runner itself enough to finish off the waves of skeles on Baron? I'm a lock wanting to do oldworld pvp before wotlk, and this looks badass so I tok it =)

But yea, if I can use this/holy water and not have to waste 900 mana for a seed of corruption on waves, that'd be cool. But this trinket is def a keeper, badass-lookin :D

Now if you're going for the real pirate look you're going to need this trinket. Everytime a beggar comes up to me I play out a little scene where I transform into a pirate and shoot him with my cannon. Ofcourse it never works, but it's funny. You'll be needing the following items:
Bloodsail Adminral's Hat
Bloodsails Boots
Bloodsail Pants
Bloodsail Sash
Bloodsail Shirt

Use a random stein(off hand) and a random rapier(main hand) and you're all set for the job :)

But i think this item might be a reference to FullMetal Alchemist, where the protagonist's main attack is summoning ancinet-looking cannons from the ground wich shoot his enemies

It's a reference to the actual event, The Cannonball Run. This was an illegal race across America that was held four times in the 70's which inspired the films starring Burt Reynolds. It has been revived a few times since then in different names, but not since 2006. They run a similar even in Europe called the Gumball 2000. Considering most of the Blizzard staff would be around the age that they remember the movies growing up or as teens, I'm sure that's the real intent.

Not sure how it used to be at Patch 2.0.1, but now it's says:

Use: Summons a cannon that will fire at enemies in front of it that are attacking you. (5 Min Cooldown)

The "that are attacking you." part seems to me that this is like a defensive pet.

Not used it yet, trying to get it for RP.

One of the most memorable times i had in this game was with a whole crew of maniacs who wanted to take over the boat.

Imagine you're an Alliance character just chilling, waiting for the boat. When it shows up there is a whole crew of bad people wanting to put you in the grave.

That's when you get hit with the cannon.

This trinket... it calls to me! I looked up the bosses in Stratholme and what they drop after obtaining the all mighty Piccolo of the Flaming Fire (look it up its epic). I quickly started killing Willey in my daily mount grind. I got bored with the mount and started only carring about this trinket. Still no drop as of today :( im very dissapointed.

Edit: I FINNALY got this trinket! int he same run i got http://www.wowhead.com/item=13379. Very fun using both these to confuse people, and the cannon is also fun to use while helping lowbies.

The Cannonball Runner is one of my all time favorite trinkets.
Even at level 85, I still carry the trinket around because you never know when you might want to summon a cannon.

This trinket is made of Pure Awesome. I was using it in BC dungeons. It fires a bunch of shots and then falls apart with a loud clank. If you can't have fun in pugs, you may as well just die now.

It seems that bosses who cast spells/debuffs at random targets will consider the Crimson Cannon as a possible target. At least Balnazzar on Stratholme smacked my Crimson Cannon with his Spirit Shock, I had solid agro so it wasn't due to agro loss.

I just used this to deal with a low-level mob that I didn't feel like dealing with myself in Strahnbrad (in Hilsbrad) and after it killed that enemy, it started attacking a stealthed mob that I couldn't see.

It seems with Legion that the tooltip has changed. Instead of an on-Use ability, it now has become an on-Equip ability.

I love this trinket. Been using it during my leveling and the dang thing is getting stronger. Not sure what it is scaling off of but it does about 800 damage a shot as a level 75 prot pally. Seems low but when doing quests it is a good bonus.

The summoned cannons seem to gain your crit chance, as a warrior it gains the 100% crit chance from Recklessness.
I've had up to 3 spawn at once all doing over 700 damage crits at level 58.

Killed Willey 10 times today with a partner and neither of us got the cannonball runner. Ironically, we got 3 books of the dead. The drop chances on this might have changed.

edit - Alright, so the 11th time I got the drop.

Since it now scales with level in timewalking this trinket is insane. I've gotten it at super low levels and its damage is still insane 20 levels later. It procs SUPER often and does a lot of damage, especially for classes with low AoE

I decided to test out a timewarped version of this on my level 11 fury warrior twink (so ilvl 60) since timewalking now uses Chromie Time as of patch 11.0.5. The results were a super-low proc rate with the damage contributed at best below 5%.

Do not recommend this trinket.
