A nice and sexy set, although unfortunately quite expensive at the AH. Expect to pay 700g or more for some pieces.

This entire set is easily farmed in Blood Furnace reg.
You may even get some bloodscale pieces to sell if that set isn't your thing.

I am trying for bloodscale, but as said in a previous post, I've done 20 runs with only a couple pieces of bloodscale to show and 3 full sets of Darkcrest.

This should be renamed from "Bloodfist Plate (Recolor)" to "Boulderfist/Darkcrest plate" for obvious reasons.

One of those sets with some lovely pieces but were it all just doesnt match. i recommend Darkiron and Darksoul plate for the mismatch parts.

This set uses the dark maroon (officially "Black") variant of the "A4 Plate" artwork and forms six pieces of a seven-piece set of the art. Only the shoulders are missing.

This set is also available in mail, see: Chief Brigadier Mail.

While there is art for shoulders in the A4 Plate set, it sadly wasn't used here, or anywhere else that I can tell. If the shoulders existed they'd look much like the rest of the set, with similar red designs around the edges. While there are "Boulderfist Epaulets" and "Darkcrest Pauldrons", they use unrelated artwork and so weren't included here.

There actually isn't any art for a helm in the A4 Plate set. None was ever created. While there are Boulderfist and Darkcrest Helms, they use unrelated artwork and so weren't included here. If you look you can probably find something that matches better.

There are three other colours of this set in the artwork database, but only two seem to be used in the game, and only one on a significant number of pieces. See:

Bronze: Bloodfist Plate
Silver: just two pieces: Pettorale Corazzato di Verargento and Guanti Lunghi di Verargento
The remaining colour, Green, is a jade green with red designs. As far as I know it hasn't been used on any pieces

They actually drop quite easily on Karazhan, SSC & Tempest Keep as I found out recently in 5.3. Therefore it's nice to be able to kill 2 birds with one stone by getting transmogworthy items while farming pets.
Also I might add that the recipe for killing many birds with one stone is to target little birds and use a big stone.

Shoulders suggestions:
In my mind, the shoulders that match this set best are Spallacci Lamellari del Campione - Replica, but very few players have access to mogging this in addition to them being paladin-only.
Paraspalle Levigati d'Ossidiana, Spalline dei Rocciadura, Guardaspalle d'Ebanacciaio, and Spalline dei Fortemaglio are all black with red accents, but the black is a bit off-color.
Guardaspalle Temprato dal Sangue is a bit chunky with the rusty red does work with this set.
If you are a paladin, Guardaspalle Adornati del Crociato doesn't look half bad, if not plain.
If you want something with some pizzazz, go with Spallacci Corazzati di Gusciofelce. If the gold doesn't bother you, Spallacci Corazzati dell'Osservatorio Celeste looks nice if the gold is complimented by a tabard or a weapon.
Finally, if you want to emphasize the red, Spalline del Despota or Paraspalle dell'Artiglio di Draco works.

Top it off with a cloak: I am partial to Mantello delle Lame Rotanti, and if you are Horde, I strongly suggest trying Manto di Orgrimmar also.

Devastatore Riflettente Devastascia or Ascia del Sabotatore I think that this two hander axe looks really good with this set.

As far as shoulders go, I don't think Coprispalle della Spedizione looks too bad (even if it's part of yet another transmog).
