So how do we finish this quest, and Embers of Neltharion achievement? I'm stuck on A Flame, Extinguished. I killed the final boss of the raid, turned it in, and still haven't completed the Embers of Neltharion achievement.

A Flame, Extinguished” is the seventh and final chapter of the WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.1 campaign. After defeating Scalecommander Sarkareth in the game’s new raid, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, you’ll be able to progress the Embers of Neltharion campaign past chapter six. As it currently stands, however, only the first six chapters of the Patch 10.1 campaign are available to play through on live servers.

Unfortunately, A Flame, Extinguished is currently time-gated and unable to complete as of the second week of Dragonflight Patch 10.1. “The last chapter of the campaign is also gated and will be accessible at a later date,” Blizzard Entertainment said in an update posted to its support page today.

With the second week of the patch, the fifth and sixth chapters of the campaign were made available, with the final quest of chapter six requiring you to delve into Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible and defeat the raid’s final boss, Scalecommander Sarkareth. Just as the “Inherited Sin” chapter of the campaign was time-gated until the second week of the patch, though, the final chapter will also be locked until a later point in the patch.

As of May 17, 2023 after the NA AND EU reset AND after Mythic has been officially cleared, the legendary earned by someone, and so forth, there is still nothing showing up for this in-game.

So if the last chapter is gated behind killing the last boss in the Raid, for a causal gamer, we cant complete this until the last wing opens up in LFR?

Killed Sark, followed quest all the back to the Seat of the Aspects, didn't complete. Still 6/7. Anyone else?

I had the option to do this quest today, without killing Sarkareth or turning in that quest. I did kill Echo of Neth for the first time yesterday (haven't been playing), no idea if that was any factor. But glad to be able to do it just the same.

The beginning quest in this series has a sidebar box with the full list of quests, but for some reason this doesn't list them. I'm guessing the Storyline page was put up while it was still in PTR.

I’m able to accept A Flame, Extinguished quest. I speak to Wrathion or Sabellion to enter the instance. Then once I go in I can "Speak to Wrathion", however I cannot 'Experience the retelling of the tale'. The dialogue boxes continue, but nothing completes. It gets to Sabellian saying that 'blah blah blah I am ... less certain".

Nothing can progress after that.

Also Wrath stays at the edge after Talonstalker Kavia's report until I start wacking on npc's past that. Then he joins and helps with the slaying.

Any help from people that have progressed past this?

Has anybody completed this quest? I killed Sarkareth 2 or 3 times already (LFR) and still can't see where to complete the quest :(

as of today, finished the questline, could interact with wrathion and i could see the cinematic, finished everything else. Abyssian is now on top of the tower with all other aspects, but it does not count as finished and does not count towards the achievement. So it is impossible to finish the achievement for the pathfinder.

I came back after a long while of not playing, thinking about to do the "Dragon isles pathfinder" and the "Flame extinguished" -quest, which was marked on map, could not be finished.
Nothing was there at the spot on the map where it was supposed to be.

Little baffled I was, but I managed to finish this when I entered the raid instance with the Wrathion and Sabellian, watched the end of Sarkareth, accepted the follow up quests, and continued into the instance. I was alone, just with the Wrathion and Sabellian as sidekicks.

Follow up all the quests you get from Sabellian and Wrathion, talk to the Ebyssian in the end, watch the storyline movies, take portal to seat of the aspects, watch the coronation, talk to Alexstrasza and you get the Flame extinguished done.

To complete this Storyline for the Embers of Neltharion pathfinder achievement, you do not have to kill Sarkareth. After meeting Ebyssian at The Seat of the Aspects and watching him become the New Black Dragon Aspect, Alexstrasxa will offer a New Hope Quest...you watch a cut-scene and turn in the Quest - Voila! It's done.

So, I was missing the quest because i think i abandoned it. Go to Aberrus Approach near the Aberrus raid and talk to Embyssian or Sabellian. Sabellian may be near the raid entrance. If they ask you to continue the quest, then there you go. you picked it back up. Mine popped up nowhere on my maps. You need to go there and talk to them to see if it is yet available.
