The Azerothian Diamond and Pristine Black Diamond can be bought out of the AH for quite cheap.

The poison vendor for the Crepulscular Powder is in the same room as the rogue trainer, so just ask a guard (80,51 if you are lazy). It costed me 135 gold at revered reputation with Silvermoon.

The reagent vendor for the Arcane Catalyst is in the Bazaar quarter of Silvermoon (54,71). The item costed me 45 Gold at revered reputation with Silvermoon.

Arcane Catalyst - 45g bought from the reagent vendor located in the Bazaar section of Silvermoon city at approximately 55,72

Crepuscular Powder - 135g bought from the poison vendor near the rogue trainers in Silvermoon City's Murder Row at approximately 77,51

As for the two types of diamons, Auction House ;)

Don't be stumped by the AH prices, personally I just saw it as 200g buyouts in the AH on my server, then I went and asked in trade (WTB ) and i got a seller, who sold me 2 for 10g each straight away lol.

Just a reminder not to always trust AH prices, theres still trade channel.

Azerothian Diamond for ~20g and Pristine Black Diamond for 7g, both buyouts. Sometimes the prices on AH are ridiculous, and most of the times somebody else will offer both of them for far less. You could also mine/fish or prospect the Azerothian Diamond from Thorium Ore. If your Diamond is 200g on AH and the ores are ~20-25g per stack, buying ore can be far cheaper and beneficial - you get other gems from it as well.

well i bought my black diamond for 30 g and my aze diamond for 19. so the most expensive is the arcane and the powder

Arcane Catalyst : 50 Gold (Friendly)

Crepuscular Powder : 150 Gold (Friendly)

Azerothian Diamond : Diffrent but i got it for 19 Gold on AH

Pristine Black Diamond : Diffrent to. but i got that for 30 Gold

so as you see, the most expensive is those you buy at vendor.
if you want farm the 2 diamonds. for get it.
it will take like 2 week's with only farm, so waste of time.

I find it amusing that moments ago I just handed "Lord" Solanar Bloodwrath a bunch of materials AND 150g and now he wants me to buy some overpriced garbage.

This whole thing reminds me of Mr. Myagi. like what does this have to do with my "training"? Only in this case I have a feeling the answer is NOT going to be revealed at the end of the questline.

Yeah I have to say breaking up the cost of the mount is kind of silly, I got a heads up at about 50 that some people had paid nearly 900g for their 'free' mount, right now I'm at 58 and still short by how ever much this quest ends up costing me.

Note that i'm seeing this on Kul Tiras EU, but I'm seeing 70g buyouts for Pristine Black Diamonds, and I just got an Azerothian Diamond for 27g.

This chain can be deceptively cheap.

Strangely enough, I have to do this quest again if I want the tabard, since I flipped this toon from Alliance to Horde at 80. I did the full, original quest line as an alliance at lvl 64 to get my paladin mount. And now I have to do it again?

And for those of you who want to save loads of gold. Don't do these quests. They just lead up to "Summon Charger". Your Pally mount you can learn now at 40 as a spell for less than 20 gold. Instead of spending over 200g buying all the items for this quest, just save the time and don't do them.

You should be able to purchase some arcane catalyst from Zalle, the reagent vendor in one of the shops on the plaza near the Dead Scar. Darlia, the poison merchant near the rogue trainers on Murder Row, stocks crepuscular powder.

To complete my mixture, I'll also need an azerothian diamond and a pristine black diamond.]
