That caravan really is just north of the goblin. It's almost within sight of him. Clear out all the centaur near the cage, as well as the patrolling cloud serpent and coyote.

The panther is a level 30 elite. Two players at level 28 or better should own this guy. At level 30, several classes can solo him with a good bit of finesse.

I killed this one by my own with a lvl 30 blood elf Mage. It was alittle tricky but not too hard. I did not use any potions or buffs expect my own Mage Buffs.

Just a tip: You will need to kite him around much, make sure to clear around the cage and theres a small risk that he might evade.

Solo'd easily with lvl 26 Mage, Frost spec.

U can take him out from the cage without opening it, attacking him after that frost nova fast blink then start nuking with frostbolts, rank1 frostbolt is needed too to slow him down so he wont catch up... use bandages potions anything u can if u cant get group like i didnt... clear all mobs around him and theres 1hyena or so clear it too...

Soloed as lv 30 Orc Hunter + lv30 Boar pet

Mend Pet is necessary, make sure that Grow is active, so you don't have to kite.

For orcs a good tip is the combo: Blood Rage + Rapid Fire, is increase your DPS a lot and you finish him fast, beware to not agroo him. Let the pet tank

Solo'd it easy as a lvl 29 Hunter (29 pet) spec'd BM (as much as possible at lvl 29.) Just let the pet tank the elite Cat, and I just nuked it. I even had a hyena attacking me while I was dps'ing and was still able to kill both. Had to mend pet a few times, but I didnt use a bandage or health pot. Pet ended on about 400 health. Deffintely a soloable quest for a hunter, I doubt it would be for a mage, Id take a warrior or a dr00d in bear form if youre playing a mage.

Just finished soloing him on my 28 feral druid. If you have spirit/Intellect gear, I suggest you put it on for the way you will have to kite it. When you open the cage, run to the center of the open area and cast Entangling Roots, after doing so, cast Starfire on it, then wait for the roots to wear off. Repeat this process by casting Entangling Roots on it every time it breaks, it's a long way to kill it, but as long as you are able to keep a safe distance from it and you throw a Starfire on it every once in a while, you can kill it easily and by yourself.

i did it solo @ lvl 29 its not that difficult with hunter just try to tank him with the pet & keep healing ur pet all the time just 4 aimed shot with some running & hitting and u i'll find him dead :D

Solo'd as a lvl 29 hunter with a 29 pet. Tanked with pet, mended pet a few times. Pet died towards the end but was able to kill Panther. freeze trap helped me out a few times. Just make sure you kill anything in the area, as you might need to do some running.

As a 32 Level Enhancement Shaman I was able to take the panther down with a little bit of work.

I first cleared the area and then dropped my totems (Healing Stream and Stone Skin). I then opened the cage and began to bang on the panther with a two-handed mace with Windfury (it proc'd about 4-5 times). I needed to cast a couple heals on myself, but he went down fairly easy as a 32 shaman.

At the end of the fight I had about 20% heath, but I also healed a couple times, but probably only needed to once.

Soloed him as a level 28 Shadow Priest (although I had not acquired the lvl 28 abilities). Cleared the site around him and kited him around with a DoT, mind flay, fear and the occasional lucky stun. I recommend running around some of the surrounding obstacles, as the beast had some trouble following me around them.

Solo'd as a level 29 aoe specced (ie, bad for this) frost mage with 2.05k mana and 653 max hp. Start out by unlocking the cage, then run back, give him a level 1 frostbolt and then one rank x (highest) frostbolt. Continue rotating between frostnovas, frostbolts, and use an evoc at 10% mana (try to keep enough for a blink and a cold snap frost nova). Didnt need a mana gem or health pots/bandages. Very simple, avoid things like CoC (as it can lead to you getting hit, and its low DPM, this is a continued DPS fight.) and fireblast for the same reasons. If you fuck up, polymorph and run, and try again. The fight took about a minute and 3k mana.

Soloed this as frost mage (lvl 28).

First mana shield, open cage and back up. Then start casting frostbolt, frostbolt and more frostbolt until he comes close enough to frost nova (unless he gets frostbite).
Then frostbolt and cone of cold if he comes close again.
Mana Agate if needed.

I got no damage from this 'cause a friendly alliance hunter took all the aggro. :)

Thanks for the tips. I couldn't find a group, so I checked wowhead like I always do. Managed to solo this on my 30 feral druid thanks to the tips here. I have a shallow int pool, but I opened the cage, then rooted and starfired. Tried to keep hots on myself, used warstomp once (resisted) and fought most of the time in bear form. Occasionally shifted, rooted, healed myself and/or starfired again. I had to use a lesser mana potion here, and the fight took close to 2 minutes. Was never in any real danger of dying though. Thanks again, keep giving tips on soloing elite quests because I read them on all my toons!

Also, he can be pulled out of the cage without the key. Just walk right up next to him and attack. He'll walk right out of the side of the cage.

Did this as a firemage, lvl 31. I had 2300 mana self buffed and 900 hp. Had mana shield up most of the time.

Got him out of the cage, sheeped him, pyroblast, fireball and fireblast, blast wave to gain distance, couple of scorch and another fireblast, frost nova.

Then I popped evocation, fireblasted him and cone of cold, ran away and fireball, scorch.

He has 3500 hp, about 3 times as much as a normal mob, but it wasnt really a big deal. Any level 30 can do it, it can be clever to bring a health pot and have cooldowns ready.

When you open the cage, make sure to pull him out of it if you're using a pet or a tank. Otherwise, he stays inside the cage, out of your (DPSers') LOS while your pet/tank gets owned.

Easily soloable though. I took him with no problem as a 28 marksman hunter, with minimal stamina. My pet only held his aggro for about 8 seconds as I had Rapid Fire+Bloodfury up, and a couple nice crits, but I still took him no problem, with a decent kite-job.

yea i soloed him at lvl 30 im a shaman so i can heal which helps because he hits for 100+ every hit i just put down fire totem earth and water and used windfury ran out of mana really fast though but he was farly easy make sure you clear the area because there was a serpent that attacked me the first time i did it and i died but second time i killed it and then kill then freaking cat over all if you can heal and do decent damage you can solo him at lvl 30+

Solo'd as 31 Tauren feral druid, all AH & quest greens, but heavily buffed, tanking in bear the whole way.

Required every buff I could find - Scrolls of Str I, Stam I, Prot I, Agi I, Int I, Spi I, Elixer of Agi, Elixer of Greater Defense, and +8 stam food buff.

Kept Feral Farie Fire and Demoralizing Roar up the whole time, used Bash when it was up, and Enrage at the beginning. Had to pop out once for a Greater Healing Pot, and finished the fight at about 1/10th health, but still doable.

just a note if you pull him to the nearby camp he WILL NOT be attacked by the campers...i tried and failed =P (not soloable at lvl 26 as a druid anyway) if you had the patience you could keep hibernating the crature till you reached freewind post but i don't have that kind of time =)

Solo'd as a level 30 Feral Druid. No Feral Charge, but I had Furor, and was in Bear Form. Bash liberally. I DID have to pop out and chug a potion/heal. Be sure to use Enrage before engaging, and if you need to heal, Hibernate. DO NOT get &*!@y. If he wakes up, drop Enrage. You need the free Rage, but you can't afford to take the extra damage.

I had some AH greens and a blue weapon (Dense Triangle Mace). It was tough as hell, but definitely worth 3k experience, plus any drops, plus HIS experience from the kill make it well worth the struggle.

As an aside, Hunters have it fairly easy. I solo'd it with my Raptor. Scare Beast (with new improved range!) got it off my raptor to save him, but he eventually went down. It's tough, but not nearly as bad. I did it at 27-28. This is more because the panther is a melee character and if he can't hit you, he can't knock off ridiculous amounts of health.

This fight is very easy since he's very slow aspect of the chetah kiting and just run around in circles hell die eventually I imagine aflic locks can curse of exhaustion kite him. Simple quest don't know why they show it as quest :D

Soloed as a lvl 28 feral druid, without any point in resto. I had a small agility-pot up, and a small sta/spirit food-buff up along with a armor-scroll - and ofc I used thorns and Mark of The Wild. It was a really tricky fight in catform. He does alot of dmg, about 100 non-crit which can be painful att this lvl.

I started off with casting Rejuvenation and Regrowth on myself, and released the tiger. Managed to get him to roughly 25%, by doing the usual stuff like 5 combo-points rip and keeping claw up. Eventually I had to pop out and throw another rejuvenation and popped a manapotion. After this i got him down to the 25% I mentioned. At this point I had low mana and popped out to normal form and simply kited him around with Entangling roots until I had regenerated enough mana to heal myself with a Rejuvenation from time to time. So well, 25% by only entangling roots is boring but it gets the job done.

Just solo'd this on my 29 BM hunter, Pet lvl 29 cat two points into stam, opened cage laid frost trap to start so i could back up a bit, sent pet in after i backed away,
1.) Aspect of the Hawk
2.) hunter's mark
3.) serpent sting
4.) arcane
5.) multi shot
6.) Disengage
7.) run back up
8.) repeat steps 3-7

Disengage now with the new patch helps out a bit, just make sure your area is clear before you start. also for hunters info, the panther is NOT tameable, unfortunaetly.

Retribution Paladins have this very easy if they decent gear. Opened with HoJ followed by judgement than just auto attacked and judgemented it to death. Finished with 3 quarters HP and full mana. I'm using the BoA gear though so I probably had it easier than most but it should still definitely be soloable by any class that can dmg and heal.

Soleable as a level 30 Priest (Going down the Shadow Tree)..

Very fearable. Found it easier to clear out surrounding area, simply dot, embrace, plague, scream flay. Can add holy fire for the extra dot damage.

Also useful, Powerword shield and Shadoword Pain Glyphs on your toon, if you don't know why, should definitely take a look.

Shaman soloing at lvl 28, possible to do it a at 27 probarly but harder with resist.

First clear all 4 centuars who guards cage. Then you see there cage open is thanks to lock go around 30 yard from it, put out totems there. suggest armor one, health spring and fire shooting one. Sorry for not remembering the name late over here.

Then release the cat and walk back towards totem, now use the shock called frost shock to slowly kite the cat around the totem while you run and back off to to shoot it again then CD is over kiting it. This will take some time but you will not get hit once and you will get the kill, remember to have mana shield up so you get mana during this and have a mana pot ready if you get low.

Did this with ease as enchantment.

Reason with totems is bcs of resist, so you will not get owned too fast if he do it you, you can heal if he is shocked, but use a lesser healing wave then you backed.

Very easy solo on a 28 hunter. Send in bear pet + immolation trap. After bear got a little aggro i just popped rapid fire and ofc quick shots procced with a fast bow. Serpent sting on target and arcane shot when the cooldowns up. Mend pet up all through the fight and at last he's dead with no trouble at all.

Soloed it as a level 26 BM hunter with a level 25 pet, but it was quite tough. First of all, make sure pet and u are at full HP / Mana, and clear the zone of the other mobs. Then let your pet get some aggro, and turn of auto Cower / Taunt ( Or both) and start kiting the panther with Disengage, freezingtraps and so on, and your pet will solo DPS him. Good luck and have fun trying to solo him :)

Soloed as a level 30 balance druid in average gear without much problem, just cast entangling roots, moved away, tagged with moonfire and insect swarm, then spammed wrath until root was broken, then recast entangling roots.

Repeated rooting / wrath spam, retagged moonfire and swarm when they expired.

Popped one health potion, probably wasn't needed but I got paranoid.

solo'd as a ret pally, just popped divine protection, kept consectration up at all times, ret aura, wisdom judgement, and just kept spamming exorcism and judgement. SoC to be exact. stun at the beggining of the fight followed by SoC judge.

Didnt heal once, had heirloom axe and shoulders.

i tried this around level 26 (lock) with a succubus and got eaten. came back through at 33 with my VW on way to another quest and iced his furry butt. cannot stress how important it is to let him get clear of the cage. after dancing around with the cat in plain site and the message 'target not in line of site' until my VW went down i barely nailed him before he got me. used everything in my arsenal but fear, why oh why do i always forget fear? :) :P

Easily soloed at 29 as a feral druid, with medium gear.
Just stay in bear form, use bash+healing touch when needed, and also hibernate+healing.
Taurens can stomp too.. so druids get a lot of ways to heal in mid-fight.

Just kite him around the stone pole to the left while you have Aspect of the Cheetah activated :)
Watch out so you dont agro the little kobold going around in circles though, he can ruin stuff! (I found out the hard way!)

Just finished soloing him on my 29 mage.
Now, this will take some skill for anyone who isn't a troll, because for one thing I am a troll mage, which means I have berserking. Plus I'm frost spec so Berserking + Icy Veins helps a lot.

Another thing I did was freeze him every chance I had. I am also equipped with 2 heirlooms and some pretty awesome gear.

The cat's respawn timer is about 7 minutes from what I could tell.

A tip for warriors: As with any elite or otherwise extra tough mob, it should be easier if you kill any nearby mob to gain Victory Rush. Immediately attack the cat afterwards and use it when you're at 80% health for extra health.

Due to the changes in 4.0.1 I managed to solo him as a 26 warlock.

Summon voidwalker, activate the taunt spell, and then put the DoT's on. He dealt about 130 dmg per hit, which is a lot, so if he hits you fear him, and drain life while he runs.

Try to never get aggro, let pet take it and heal with health funnel.

After the fight I had about 40hp, so very hard at level 26, try to get one more player or be a higher level. Easy xp + a reasonable ring.

For hunter the same tactics apply.

Here is the key to the cage. They took everything there, but left him alone. Slay this beast and bring back my hypercapacitor, and I shall reward you.

The wrecked caravan is just north of here.
