Ok, I did both Morrowgrain quests to compare them.
Note: I am using a mod to show the reputation in numbers. This is not the same as Cosmos' digits.

If you are unfamiliar with the mod:
Neutral to Friendly: 3k reputation points required.
Friendly to Honored: 6k reputation points required.
Honored to Revered: 12k reputation points required.
Revered to Exalted: 21k reputation points required.

Darnassus:

As 47 human mage, I got 4.7k experience points and 110 increase in reputation with Darnassus. So that is 100 for Gnomes, Dwarves and Night Elves. (Humans get a racial 10% additional reputation increase) Morrowgrain handed in: 10.
Reward: Bag with randomly selected: potions, scrolls (extra stamina III, strength III etc.) and food.

Follow up: 470 quest experience. And 27/28 increase in reputation with Darnassus. So 25 for Gnomes, Dwarves and Night Elves.
Morrowgrain handed in: 10.
Reward: That same bag again.

Feathermoon Stronghold:

Did it with the same character: 47 human mage.
I received the same 4.7k quest experience for completing the quest. I also got that 110 increase in reputation. So like in Darnassus: This would mean 100 for Gnomes, Dwarves and Night Elves.
Morrowgrain handed in: 10
Rewards: The questreward item and 10 Packets of Tharlendris Seeds.

Follow up: Completing this will give you 470 quest experience and 27/28 increase in reputation (Yes, that's 25 if you are a Dwarf, Gnome or Night Elf).
Morrowgrain handed in: 5
Rewards: 10 packets of Tharlendris Seeds.

As conclusion: Handing them in at Feathermoon Stronghold is better. Ohw. And if you want to get to exalted with Darnassus: go for the cloth option. You'll get it way faster than handing in Morrowgrain.

Edit: as of patch 1.9, it does not make a difference where to hand them in. Also note that the level of handing in Morrowgrain has been increased to level 55 (already in from 1.8 I believe). So I am not sure whether you can still do this quest at level 47.

I noticed (at least the last 10 times I did this) that when you are actually in Un'Goro crater you have more often morrowgrain out of the casing than when you're not there.

The last 10 times counted, I had 9 morrowgrain loot while in Un'goro, and only 4 when I was elsewhere.

Maybe someone can confirm this.

I found the npc in Stormwind that gives the prequest for this, but she doesn't have any ! (only herb training) I'm lvl 48.... why is that?? maybe they changed it ??

No. I just got the pre-quest in StormWind, and I am level 49.

At level 48, her exclamation was gray to me.

My gnome warlock got the quest at 49, so I don't think the level pre-req has been changed. I haven't noticed any difference in the proc rate for Morrowgrain, depending whether I am in Un'Goro or not, but I will pay more attention to this. There may be a difference if one is a herbalist, though. I am herb/alch, and I usually get more Morrowgrain when it does proc than my hunter alt who is not a herbalist. First time it procced, I got five Morrowgrain; three or four is more the average.

Personally, my advice is that after completing the quests, to stockpile the Morrowgrain and turn it in all at once if you are going to repeat the quest for rep. Saves you multiple trips to these far away lands.

What is Staghelm doing with all that morrowgrain? From this quest text, it sounds like it might have some kind of narcotic effect… is Staghelm getting high off morrowgrain?

I'm surprised no one mentioned this, but "Here's a little something... you know, for the effort" in the completion text is a reference to a famous scene from Caddyshack with Bill Murray:

Carl Spackler: So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas.

I'm interested - nay, concerned with why the Arch Druid in Darnassus is using the name of the Cenarion Circle as well as the Circle's resources to procure vast amounts of morrowgrain. I'm a researcher - curses are my specialty. I've heard that morrowgrain, under the right conditions, exude qualities like other herbs used in primitive curses.

I want to know more, and I ask for your help. Bring me ten morrowgrain, and I will be sure to take care of you.
