Found at 29,47 on the road to the Barrens. 3-4 quests to return to Theramore

There is a horde version of this "quest" as well. If you already did The Shady Rest Inn quests prior to patch 2.3, this is a waste of your time. It exists just to get people out to the inn.

Far Mid West, Dustwallow To Barrans Path.
There is a small hut with a guard standing nearby.
(I'll put a screen shot of the map)
Coords 29.48

The 3 items youll need to get after completing the quest are located in the burned down hut.
Since the last patch there are littel arrows above them.
They are very easy to spot now.

As of 2.4.1 or so, this quest may have changed...or be buggy, your choice. When one of my alts talked to the inspector to finish it, the arrows appeared near the objects...but the objects were not clickable and all I could do was ask the inspector to reapply the powder to make the arrows come back. This didn't change their lack of clickability.

So I opened a GM ticket, went off to finish other quests, turned one of them in back in Theramore...and Captain Vimes acted as if I had done the intervening steps in the quest chain, and sent me off to do the (newer) final series, which I completed without incident.

I closed the ticket. Still don't know if that's how it should work, but there you are.

This quest works just fine (i completed it today)

When you complete this quest, inspector Tarem casts a spell on you -reflective dust-.

Then you can see some purple pointers movin up and down.

Click on the items that they point to get additional quests.

The items are:

Reethes Badge (in the inn, on the ground)
Blackened Iron Shield (in the inn, at the wall)

and some Suspicious Hoofprints (near inspector Tarem, on the ground)

Descrizione

Poor James never recovered from the destruction of the Shady Rest and the murder of his family. The boys and I are doing what we can to find the monsters who did this.

I've sent our best investigator, Inspector Tarem, out to the ruins, but this is too big a job for any one man. If you'd lend Tarem a hand, we'd appreciate it. Light knows, we'd all like to be out there helping.

The main road will lead you to the inn, but take care. Your journey will take you beyond the protection of my soldiers.
